  • This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the dual-punishment system by analysis of the financial performance of pharmaceutical companies before and after introduction of the dual-punishment system. This study analyzed the business performance of 136 pharmaceutical companies from 2009 to 2011. The results from paired t-tests found that sales, operating cost, and EBITDA showed significant differences in performance, and, according to the variance analysis, the five groups obtained through a hierarchical cluster analysis differed from each other in sales, operating cost, EBITDA, and research and development cost. Differences in financial performance among the groups seem to be related to the strategy for response to the regulation. The introduction of the dual-punishment system is generally acknowledged to have had positive effects on the pharmaceutical industry. However, some companies appear to be continuing kickback practices.

  • In this paper, I tried to pursue health and social welfare together through medical convergence based on the main subject of a culture of convergence. Artists' drug accidents are never ending. Now Korea is also out of the drug cleansing country. it is impossible to get rid of them with the national public power. It is time for a treatment plan for these. They need a certain period of time and regular periods of rest and control over sports. Our humanities are researching to understand the changing human images of today. In parallel, medical convergence will also have to be transformed in various ways for human healing. Recently, we can see the case of healing with the combination of oriental medicine, natural healing and western medicine. Furthermore, the structure of medical convergence for the fight against disease can be analyzed as an example. South Korea is also preparing for various convergence programs focusing on natural sciences such as engineering, medical care, and the environment. In order to prevent drug addiction it is important to determine the department responsible for handling the problem of substance abuse. we need to improve the environment that they can be combined with Ondol therapy and natural healing therapies. Furthermore, I expect that fusion medicine will contribute to improving the quality of life of drug addicts and become a successful model to revitalize local economies in particular.

  • Data mashup is a web technology that combines information from multiple sources into a single web application. Mashup applications create a new horizon for new services, like environmental monitoring. Environmental monitoring is a serious tool for the state and private organizations, which are located in regions with environmental hazards and seek to gain insights to detect hazards and locate them clearly. These organizations utilize a data mashup to merge datasets from different Internet of multimedia things (IoMT) context-based services in order to leverage its data analytics performance and the accuracy of the predictions. However, mashup different datasets from multiple sources is a privacy hazard as it might reveal citizens specific behaviors in different regions. The ability to preserve privacy in mashuped datasets and at the same time provide accurate insights becomes a key success for the spread of mashup services. In this paper, we present our efforts to build a fog-based middleware for private data mashup (FMPM) to serve a centralized environmental monitoring service. The proposed middleware is equipped with concealment mechanisms to preserve the privacy of the merged datasets from multiple IoMT networks involved in the mashup application. Also, these mechanisms preserve the aggregates in the dataset to maximize the usability of information to attain accurate analytical results. We also provide a scenario for IoMT-enabled data mashup service and experimentation results.

  • This work studies the variability of flatfish sales revenue. The theoretical analysis draws functions for equilibrium price and quantity using expectation hypotheses. The functions include unpredictable phenomenon with dummy variable and GARCH. The equilibrium function, using adaptive expectation hypothesis, contains the independent variables of supply and demand, while the equilibrium function, embodying rational expectation hypothesis, includes only the independent variables of supply side, because the demand side disappears by the information extraction process theoretically, if economic subjects build the expectation rational. The empirical analysis shows: the variability of flatfish production has a spillover effect on the variability of revenue with the adaptive expectation hypothesis. In the case when the model has a rational expectation hypothesis, the variability of flatfish production has a spillover effect on the revenue (the mean equation of GARCH model). This study indicates that there is the variability in flatfish production and sales revenue, and the spillover effect between them. The result can help to build of the rational system for the fishery income stability.

  • This research was conducted to biomechanically analyze Tippelt motion in parallel bars, and establish technical understanding. To achieve that goal, the performances of the Tippelt acts carried out by five world top-class national gymnasts in the parallel bars 3-dimensional cinematographic analysis and EMG analysis were conducted and following conclusion were obtained. The Tippelt motions of excellent national gymnasts perform tap motion through the down swing of a large circular movements, and perform kick-out motion rapidly extending shoulder joint angle and hip joint angle with the trunk in a position close to perpendicular position at the vertical downwardness of the grasping the bars. At this time, if handstand starting the movement is too delayed or rapidly down swung, it was shown that from the initial falling, unnecessary muscular power was wasted in trapezius, anterior deltoid, erector spinae, latissimus dorsi, upper rectus abdominis, lower rectus abdominis. The muscular parts in tap motion generating muscle action potential were pectoralis major, rectus femoris, upper rectus abdominis, lower rectus abdominis, and those in kick-out motion were upper rectus abdominis, lower rectus abdominis, trapezius and anterior deltoid.

  • The study attempted to determine if the effectiveness of bibliographic 'instruction would be different among student groups, divided by grade levels, major areas of study, and the level of library skills posessed before the instruction. The focal point of the investigation was the degree of improvement demonstrated by the changes in mean score of each group after taking bibliographic instruction. Sangmyong Women's University students who have taken the bibliographic instruction course for credit were the subjects of the study. Students' library skills were measured prior to the bibliographic instruction and post-test was followed. And the measured was based on the 'Library skills Test' developed by the Illinois Association of College and Research Libraries. Three hypotheses in the study were tested statistically by ANOVA. The followings are the results of the analysis: (1) There were no significant differences in bibliographic instruction effectiveness among student groups divided by grade levels; (2) There were significant differences (p<.01) in bibliographic instruction effectiveness among student groups divided by major areas of study. Bibliographic instruction was more effective for humanities or social sciences majors than for performing arts or physical education majors; (3) There were significant differences (p<.001) in bibliographic instruction effectiveness among student groups divided by the initial library skills. Obviously, bibliographic instruction was more effective for the students in bottom quartile than those in top quartile or middle quartiles. Finally, limitations of the study, recommendations based on the results and area for future research are briefly examined.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify economic situation on scale of tuna distant longline fishery by analyzing its economies of scale using the cost function. To analyze its economics of scale, the deep-sea fishing statistics were used from 2012 to 2016. In detail, the number of panels for estimating the cost function was 68 tuna distant longline vessels from 2012 to 2016, and the total number of observations over the five years were 340. As a final model, the two-way fixed effect model based on the translog cost function was adopted through the F test, the Breusch-Pagan test and the Hausman test. As a result of the analysis, it was found that tuna distant longline fishery between 2012 and 2014 was diseconomies of scale, the fishery between 2015 and 2016 was economies of scale. However, the economic indicators of the scale from 2012 to 2016 were almost close to zero, indicating that the constant returns to scale, the optimal scale, were reached. Therefore, in the situation where the amount of fishery resources in the world continues to decrease, it is necessary to prepare a method to obtain economic benefits through scale maintenance and reduction rather than indiscriminate scale expansion.

  • This study evaluated the antibacterial effects of a mixture of Sophorae radix and Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fischer (1 : 1) ethanol extracts (SGE) on mice infected with Streptococcus (S.) pyogenes. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration of SGE necessary for antibacterial effects against S. pyogenes were $20{\mu}g/mL$. Based on the time-kill curves for S. pyogenes, SGE was effective at $4{\times}$ MIC after 16 h. On Day 12 after challenge, the survival rate of mice treated with 2.0 mg/kg SGE was 60%. In conclusion, SGE had potent in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activities against S. pyogenes.
