A Study of Nuclear Power Plant Inspection Tasks Using A Mobile Robot (이동로봇을 이용한 원전 내부 감시점검에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we presents the remote inspection activity with a mobile robot at the calandria face areas of the PHWR (pressurized heavy water reactor) nuclear power plants during full power plant operation.. The tele-operated mobile robot has been developed for this task. A 4 wheeled mechanism with the dual reconfigurable crawler arm has been adopted for the ease access to the high radiation area of calandria face. A specially designed extendable long reach mast attached on the mobile platform and the thermal image monitoring system enable human eyes to look into the calandria face. Application of robot will keep human workers from high radiation exposure and enhance the reliability of nuclear power plants.

  • An experimental investigation of COP(center of pressure) was performed using FSR(force sensing resistor) and force plate. The FSR sensor system is used as effective device to detect the movement of human body in activities of daily living. It has been shown that the FSR provides the trajectories of COP with repeatability and reliability.

  • To guarantee the safety and reliability of obsolete thermal power plants, on site routine patrol in their facilities has been done by human workers. Due to their poor working environments, however, a patrol robot system has been gradually required instead of the human workers from the viewpoint of the workers' safety and work efficiency. For this purpose, this paper presents a patrol robot, controllers, and its control scheme. Especially, this robot system uses a line tracing algorithm, which uses a vision camera instead of IR sensors, and an RFID system for its patrol operation. We confirmed its effectiveness through experiments.

The study of the relationship among materialism, clothing shopping orientation and clothing impulse buying (물질주의, 의류쇼핑성향, 의류충동구매간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of materialism and clothing shopping orientation on clothing impulse buying. The subjects were 309 female college students in Gyeongsang provinces. The obtained data were analyzed by reliability analysis, frequency, factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, two factors of materialism were identified: happiness pursuit materialism and possession pursuit materialism. Second, two factors of clothing shopping orientation were identified: conspicuous shopping orientation and hedonic shopping orientation. Third, a significant positive correlation was found among two factors of materialism, two factors of clothing shopping orientation, and clothing impulse buying. Fourth, possession pursuit materialism influences clothing impulse buying through conspicuous shopping orientation. Fifth, happiness pursuit materialism influences clothing impulse buying through hedonic shopping orientation.

The Effect of Textile Mechanical Properties on Human Sensibility (직물의 역학적 특성이 질감 감성에 미치는 효과)

  • This study developed a test with a high test-retest reliability consisting of 18 items by selecting from Korean adjectives describing tactile sensations. Principal components were extracted by three repeated measurements of 19 different fabrics for underwear. Adjectives such as 'smooth' 'soft' 'sexy' 'comfortable' and 'cozy' were most discriminating between preferred and non-preferred fabrics. The fabrics were analyzed by Kawabata Evaluation System in 16 mechanical properties, then these properties were analyzed by regression analyses as to their relations with human sensation and sensibility. Among the fabrics, the most preferred were made of polyester whereas the least preferred were made of gauze and cotton. Mechanical properties were identified that were related to the most discriminating adjectives such as 'smooth', 'soft', 'sexy,' and 'cozy'.

  • The beneficial effects of fruits, vegetables, and beverages on human health have been attributed to their antioxidant activities. Therefore, antioxidant activity of food products is recognized as one of the important parameters in determining their functional values. Until now, antioxidant activity has been measured by various chemical and biological methods; however, many factors confound the reliability and reproducibility of measurements of antioxidant activity of food. In vitro methods may provide a useful indication of antioxidant activity but their results may not translate to the human biological system, while in vivo tests are difficult to carry out due to the intricate processes of uptake, cellular transportation, and metabolism of individual antioxidant components. Therefore, as long as these limitations exist, our best option is to measure the antioxidant activity in food directly. This review briefly summarizes currently available methods for the measurement of antioxidant activity in food and examines their respective validity.

가압 경수로의 저출력/정지 확률론적 안전성 평가를 위한 인간신뢰도분석 절차서 개발

  • 인간신뢰도분석 절차인 SHARP(Systematic Human Action Reliability Procedure)와 인간행위 정량화 방법인 THERP(Technique for Human Error Rate Prediction)를 토대로 하고 원자력발전소의 저출력/정지 운전의 특징적인 상황을 반영하여 가압 경수로의 저출력/정지운전의 PSA를 위한 인간신뢰도분석 절차서를 개발하였다. 개발된 인간신뢰도분석 절차서의 주요사항은 다음과 같다; 1) 원자력발전소의 이상사태에 대응하는 운전원 행위는 두 개의 기본사건인 진단실패와 수행실패 사건으로 모델링 한다. 2) 절차서에 없는 행위이라도 일부 운전원이 그 행위에 대한 절차와 조건을 알고 있으면 그 행위에 대해 성공가능성을 고려한다. 3) 인간신뢰도분석시 본 연구에서 개발된 표(work sheet)의 사용으로 인간행위 정량화 과정에 대한 타당성 및 신뢰성을 제고시키고 정량화과정을 쉽게 추적할 수 있다. 4) 인간신뢰도분석자의 판단이 필요한 부분에 결정수목을 사용하기 때문에 인간신뢰도 분석 시 개입될 수 있는 분석자의 주관성을 일정부분 배제할 수 있고 일관된 인간신뢰도분석을 수행 할 수 있다.

  • Mobile cellular technology is evolving to accommodate a variety of vertical services, expanding the application from human-to-human communication to the Internet of Things(IoT). In particular, the fourth industrial revolution, bringing in a new vision in future smart factory, necessitates a new paradigm shift in wireless communication. Low latency and high reliability is a key issue in wireless applications for industrial IoT such as factory automation. In this paper, we review the recent progress in 5G URLLC (Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication) and discuss use cases, requirements, challenging technical issues, and potential solutions to support wireless factory automation such as discrete automation and process automation.

  • In real-time embedded systems, the responsibility is the most important thing because it is related to human life. Context switching is a part of which can slow down the responsibility. We therefore should minimize the amount of state that needs to be saved during context switching. In this paper, we introduce a new architecture (Register Farm) for context switching which can exchange two contexts in one cycle time. Although it might increase the cost of MCU design and the complexity of circuit, it cannot miss any interrupt during context switching. Consequently, Register Farm architecture can make embedded systems spread out in human life because it can increase reliability and responsibility in real time embedded systems.

  • Recent social needs for promoting traffic safety increased and the demand social security in economic, increasing the demand for environmentally friendly rail transport. In particular, when train express such as to secure reliability KTX(Korea Train eXpress) from potential disaster(fire) in the train operation caused by the train express running has been very important. Railroad fire extinguishing system is operated to fire exploding before reaching the flashing point more important than early to quickly detect because of CAN(Controller Area Network) communication to fire suppression and fire receiver, interface, fire fighting equipment from HMI((Human Machine Interface) and fire high-performance to research and development for intelligent composite fire receiver is required.
