In this paper, a kidnapping detection scheme in which human pose estimation is used to classify accurately between kidnapping cases and normal ones is proposed. To estimate human poses from input video, human's 10 joint information is extracted by OpenPose library. In addition to the features which are used in the previous study to represent the size change rates and the regularities of human activities, the human pose estimation features which are computed from the location of detected human's joints are used as the features to distinguish kidnapping situations from the normal accompanying ones. A frame-based kidnapping detection scheme is generated according to the selection of J48 decision tree model from the comparison of several representative classification models. When a video has more frames of kidnapping situation than the threshold ratio after two people meet in the video, the proposed scheme detects and notifies the occurrence of kidnapping event. To check the feasibility of the proposed scheme, the detection accuracy of our newly proposed scheme is compared with that of the previous scheme. According to the experiment results, the proposed scheme could detect kidnapping situations more 4.73% correctly than the previous scheme.

In recent years, video surveillance research has been able to recognize various behaviors of pedestrians and analyze the overall situation of objects by combining image analysis technology and deep learning method. Human Activity Recognition (HAR), which is important issue in video surveillance research, is a field to detect abnormal behavior of pedestrians in CCTV environment. In order to recognize human behavior, it is necessary to detect the human in the image and to estimate the pose from the detected human. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for 2D Human Pose Estimation based on object detection using RGB-D information. By adding depth information to the RGB information that has some limitation in detecting object due to lack of topological information, we can improve the detecting accuracy. Subsequently, the rescaled region of the detected object is applied to ConVol.utional Pose Machines (CPM) which is a sequential prediction structure based on ConVol.utional Neural Network. We utilize CPM to generate belief maps to predict the positions of keypoint representing human body parts and to estimate human pose by detecting 14 key body points. From the experimental results, we can prove that the proposed method detects target objects robustly in occlusion. It is also possible to perform 2D human pose estimation by providing an accurately detected region as an input of the CPM. As for the future work, we will estimate the 3D human pose by mapping the 2D coordinate information on the body part onto the 3D space. Consequently, we can provide useful human behavior information in the research of HAR.

In this paper, we propose a method to improve the accuracy of 3D human pose estimation model in various move motions. Existing human pose estimation models have some problems of jitter, inversion, swap, miss that cause miss coordinates when estimating human poses. These problems cause low accuracy of pose estimation models to detect exact coordinates of human poses. We propose a method that consists of detection and correction methods to handle with these problems. Deep learning-based outlier detection method detects outlier of human pose coordinates in move motion effectively and rule-based correction method corrects the outlier according to a simple rule. We have shown that the proposed method is effective in various motions with the experiments using 2D golf swing motion data and have shown the possibility of expansion from 2D to 3D coordinates.

We propose a fall recognition system using the Pose Detection of Google ML kit using video data. Using the Pose detection algorithm, 33 three-dimensional feature points extracted from the body are used to recognize the fall. The algorithm that recognizes the fall by analyzing the extracted feature points uses k-NN. While passing through the normalization process in order not to be influenced in the size of the human body within the size of image and image, analyzing the relative movement of the feature points and the fall recognizes, thirteen of the thriteen test videos recognized the fall, showing an 100% success rate.

3D human pose estimation is widely applied in various fields, including action recognition, sports analysis, and human-computer interaction. 3D human pose estimation has achieved significant progress with the introduction of convolutional neural network (CNN). Recently, several researches have proposed the use of multiview approaches to avoid occlusions in single-view approaches. However, as the number of cameras increases, a 3D pose estimation system relying on a CNN may lack in computational resources. In addition, when a single host system uses multiple cameras, the data transition speed becomes inadequate owing to bandwidth limitations. To address this problem, we propose a distributed real-time 3D pose estimation framework based on asynchronous multiple cameras. The proposed framework comprises a central server and multiple edge devices. Each multiple-edge device estimates a 2D human pose from its view and sendsit to the central server. Subsequently, the central server synchronizes the received 2D human pose data based on the timestamps. Finally, the central server reconstructs a 3D human pose using geometrical triangulation. We demonstrate that the proposed framework increases the percentage of detected joints and successfully estimates 3D human poses in real-time.

2D human pose estimation still faces difficulty in low-resolution images. Most existing top-down approaches scale up the target human bonding box images to the large size and insert the scaled image into the network. Due to up-sampling, artifacts occur in the low-resolution target images, and the degraded images adversely affect the accurate estimation of the joint positions. To address this issue, we propose a multi-resolution input feature fusion network for human pose estimation. Specifically, the bounding box image of the target human is rescaled to multiple input images of various sizes, and the features extracted from the multiple images are fused in the network. Moreover, we introduce a guiding channel which induces the multi-resolution input features to alternatively affect the network according to the resolution of the target image. We conduct experiments on MS COCO dataset which is a representative dataset for 2D human pose estimation, where our method achieves superior performance compared to the strong baseline HRNet and the previous state-of-the-art methods.
With the continuous development of deep learning, human behavior recognition algorithms have achieved good results. However, in a multi-person recognition environment, the complex behavior environment poses a great challenge to the efficiency of recognition. To this end, this paper proposes a multi-person pose estimation model. First of all, the human detectors in the top-down framework mostly use the two-stage target detection model, which runs slow down. The single-stage YOLOv3 target detection model is used to effectively improve the running speed and the generalization of the model. Depth separable convolution, which further improves the speed of target detection and improves the model's ability to extract target proposed regions; Secondly, based on the feature pyramid network combined with context semantic information in the pose estimation model, the OHEM algorithm is used to solve difficult key point detection problems, and the accuracy of multi-person pose estimation is improved; Finally, the Euclidean distance is used to calculate the spatial distance between key points, to determine the similarity of postures in the frame, and to eliminate redundant postures.

With the advance of robot capabilities and functionalities, construction robots assisting construction workers have been increasingly deployed on construction sites to improve safety, efficiency and productivity. For close-proximity human-robot collaboration in construction sites, robots need to be aware of the context, especially construction worker's behavior, in real-time to avoid collision with workers. To recognize human behavior, most previous studies obtained 3D human poses using a single camera or an RGB-depth (RGB-D) camera. However, single-camera detection has limitations such as occlusions, detection failure, and sensor malfunction, and an RGB-D camera may suffer from interference from lighting conditions and surface material. To address these issues, this study proposes a novel method of 3D human pose estimation by extracting 2D location of each joint from multiple images captured at the same time from different viewpoints, fusing each joint's 2D locations, and estimating the 3D joint location. For higher accuracy, the probabilistic representation is used to extract the 2D location of the joints, considering each joint location extracted from images as a noisy partial observation. Then, this study estimates the 3D human pose by fusing the probabilistic 2D joint locations to maximize the likelihood. The proposed method was evaluated in both simulation and laboratory settings, and the results demonstrated the accuracy of estimation and the feasibility in practice. This study contributes to ensuring human safety in close-proximity human-robot collaboration by providing a novel method of 3D human pose estimation.
This paper proposes a robust human detection method irrespective of their pose variation using the multiple oriented 2D elliptical filters (MO2DEFs). The MO2DEFs can detect the humans regardless of their poses unlike existing object oriented scale adaptive filter (OOSAF). To overcome OOSAF's limitation, we introduce the MO2DEFs whose shapes look like the oriented ellipses. We perform human detection by applying four different 2D elliptical filters with specific orientations to the 2D spatial-depth histogram and then by taking the thresholds over the filtered histograms. In addition, we determine the human pose by using convolution results which are computed by using the MO2DEFs. We verify the human candidates by either detecting the face or matching head-shoulder shapes over the estimated rotation. The experimental results showed that the accuracy of pose angle estimation was about 88%, the human detection using the MO2DEFs outperformed that of using the OOSAF by $15{\sim}20%$ especially in case of the posed human.

In computer vision research, the two-dimensional human pose is a very extensive research direction, especially in pose tracking and behavior recognition, which has very important research significance. The acquisition of human pose targets, which is essentially the study of how to accurately identify human targets from pictures, is of great research significance and has been a hot research topic of great interest in recent years. Human pose recognition is used in artificial intelligence on the one hand and in daily life on the other. The excellent effect of pose recognition is mainly determined by the success rate and the accuracy of the recognition process, so it reflects the importance of human pose recognition in terms of recognition rate. In this human body gesture recognition, the human body is divided into 17 key points for labeling. Not only that but also the key points are segmented to ensure the accuracy of the labeling information. In the recognition design, use the comprehensive data set MS COCO for deep learning to design a neural network model to train a large number of samples, from simple step-by-step to efficient training, so that a good accuracy rate can be obtained.
