This study is to conclude a direction for Information Commons, which supports the university library in a new role. The study explains perspectives on the changing role of the university library by examining the approaches, histories, and theories practiced by various researchers on Information Commons. The study aims to discover ways of improving the library space that are dedicated to technology using Information Commons, it also examines ways of creating a unified "library space" that will support learning and access to knowledge and information. The features of Cultural Commons include making improvements to technology-centered space, and providing support to research, freedom of speech, creative approach, public freedom and collaboration, and interaction. The functions of Cultural Commons within the university library are listed: First, it supports programs that will transform the library into a social hub within the university. The space specifically blurs the boundary between the library building and its surroundings, and unifies these spaces to enhance its catalytic role in aiding social interactions and human-centered approach. Second, it supports active participation through cultural programs and provides a fluid and interactive space with virtual resources. Third, it enhances user experience to supports behaviors and activities that involve fixtures and equipment in the space to promote learning. The study notes that, with the emergence of these characteristics, the university library is changing by implementing Cultural Commons for on-campus social space and new learning. Accordingly, this implementation is expected to enhance active acceptance of the library space in the future.

본 연구는 미국 지역 교육구 학교도서관 담당관의 지위 및 역할을 소개하고 이를 우리나라 실정에 맞는 인력으로 활용하고자 함에 그 목적을 두었다. 연구 진행을 위해 문헌조사법, 관찰법, 설문조사법과 인터뷰법을 시행하였으며, 그 결과 사서교사의 업무를 강화시키고 지역 내 학교도서관을 효율적으로 관리, 지원함에 있어서 학교도서관 담당관의 역할이 절실히 요구됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 우리나라에서도 지역별 학교도서관 담당관 직위의 비치를 통해 학교도서관 활성화를 꾀할 수 있음을 확신한다. 설문조사의 결과, 학교도서관 담당관의 전공은 문헌정보학이 중심이 되어야 하며, 문헌정보학에 대한 해박한 지식 뿐 아니라 테크놀러지 지식, 교육자로서의 자질, 관리자로서의 리더쉽, 커뮤니케이션 기술, 사서교사를 대변하는 대변인으로서의 자질이 요구되었다.

The Result of the study can be summarized as follows : (1) Korean culture and public library look extremely wasted equally. Judging from this fact, I believe that it is impossible for public library can contribute to development of Korean culture. (2) But, public library can contribute to development of culture in the cultural environment that mental desire is prior to physical wants. This cultural environment can be built up with reading of good books. Therefore, if class to reading education and diverse reading education programs can be activated in a large portion of the nationwide public libraries and the majority of a local resident are capable of improving their creativity power, thinking power and imaginative faculty, public library can contribute to produce such cultural circumstances. (3) Quality, culture, a human and mind receive mu6 respect in Korean Society as advanced civil, democratic and industrial society in the future. The Society will be influenced by reason and rational culture will be suitable to this society. Creativity power, thinking-power, imaginative faculty, intelligence and power of information management are demanded to the greatest degree for the development of idea and new technology in the society under the control of rational culture. So, lifelong education with library use is the most fruitful and inexpensive way for the improvement of these powers.

DLS(Digital Library System)는 학교도서관 관리자(사서교사)와 최종 이용자(일반교사 및 학생)에게 애플리케이션 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 교육인적자원부에서 개발한 학교도서관 정보시스템이다. DLS는 현재 15개 시 도교육청에 설치되어 있으며, 시 도교육청 관내의 초 중등학교에 서비스를 제공하고 있다. DLS는 서비스를 개시한지 2년 이상이 지났기 때문에 이용 실태와 현황을 분석하여 향후 개선 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 DLS를 사용하고 있는 전국의 308개 초 중등학교의 학교도서관 관리자, 학생 및 교사를 대상으로 이용실태와 요구사항을 조사하여 향후 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

본 연구에서는 도서관에 사물인터넷(Internet of Things) 개념을 적용하여 사람, 사물, 데이터 등의 정보가 서로 유기적으로 연계되는 생태학적인 네트워크 공간으로서의 해석을 시도하였다. 먼저 도서관의 물리적 공간에 존재하는 다양한 사물과 인터넷 공간에 존재하는 데이터를 사물인터넷 요소로 정의하였다. 다음으로 다양한 사물들이 상이한 메타데이터와 통신 프로토콜을 통해 정보를 교환하고 유용한 정보로서 서로 통합하기 위한 시맨틱 웹 기술 적용을 제안하였다. 마지막으로 인터넷 공간속에서 다양한 사물인터넷의 요소들이 실시간으로 공유하는 정보를 도서관 관리 및 이용자 서비스 등 특정 목적에 활용될 수 있는 방안으로서 사물인터넷 모델을 제시하고자 하였다.

도서관은 인류문화 유산을 집대성하여 계승하고 현재의 모든 지식정보자원을 기반으로 미래사회를 개척할 수 있는 전략과 전술, 과학기술뿐만 아니라, 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 등의 모든 분야의 콘텐츠를 제공하는 곳이다. 더군다나 공공도서관은 공중의 지식정보와 이용 문화활동 및 평생교육을 증진함을 주된 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 연구는 공공도서관의 패러다임이 어떻게 변화되고 있는가를 도서관기능과 환경의 변화 측면에서 다루었고 디지털 도서관의 등장과 그 의의를 제시하였다. 또한 새로운 공공도서관문화 및 조직구조 창출, 도서관 정보조직구조의 변화를 다루었다. 공공도서관의 현황분석에서 나타나는 문제점을 토대로 공공도서관에서 지식경영의 필요성과 그 구성요소를 도출하였으며, 지식경영 프레임워크를 기반으로 한 통합형 지식경영모형을 제안하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 수행된 도서관경영분야의 연구동향을 분석하고 성과와 한계를 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 한국연구재단에 등재된 문헌정보학분야의 5개 학술지를 대상으로 2001에서 2010까지 발표된 총 2,567편의 논문을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 도서관경영논문의 비중은 전체의 21.8%(560편)로 나타났다. 도서관경영분야의 하위영역 중에서 연구성과가 높은 분야는 경영일반, 정책과 제도, 인사관리, 측정과 평가인 반면에 조직 및 예산관리, 건물과 시설, 마케팅과 홍보분야의 연구성과는 매우 미약하였다.

최근 4차 산업혁명시대를 맞이하여, 시대에 적합한 인재를 양성하기 위한 교육의 역할이 강조되고 있다. 4차 산업혁명의 도서관은 기술혁신의 도서관 적용을 고민하고 기술 인간 도서관이 결합하고 대응해야 할 방안이 필요하며 그 고민의 출발은 교육에서부터 시작될 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명의 관점에서 사서교육의 방향성을 제시하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 4차 산업혁명의 본질, 도서관의 변화, 4차 산업혁명의 교육적 함의, 사서교육의 문제를 고찰하였다. 연구의 결과로 사서교사 교육의 방향성을 사서의 인재상, 교육내용, 교육방법의 관점에서 제시하였다.

인간 내생 레트로바이러스 HERV-W는 다발성 경화증 환자로부터 탐지된 MSRV와 연루되어 있다. 인간 태아의 뇌로부터 유래된 cDNA library를 이용하여 PCR법으로 2개의 HERV-W 패밀리(HWP-FB10과 HWP-FB12)를 동정하고 분석하였다. 그들은 HERV-W (accession no. AF009668)와 89%의 염기서열의 유사성을 보였다. Pol 유전자를 아미노산의 서열로 분석해 본 결과 점돌연변이 또는 삽입/결실로 말미암아 frameshift 및 종결코돈을 나타내었다. 유전자정보의 데이터베이스를 이용하여 HERV-W 패밀리간의 분자계통분류도를 작성해 본 결과 HWP-FB10은 인간의 염색체 7q21-22로부터 유래된 AC000064와 매우 가깝게 관련되어 있음을 시사하였다. 이들의 새로운 HERV-W pol 패밀리가 이웃하는 어떤 유전자와 상호 연결되어 있으며, 어떠한 기능을 수행하는지에 대한 전망에 대해 토의하였다.
