  • This article provides a dynamic analysis model for huge marine engine that examined analytically variation effects of frequency response by fitting of transverse stays such as hydraulic type. First, vibration analysis using the three dimensional finite element models for the huge marine engine has performed in order to find out the dynamic characteristics. Second, three dimensional finite elements model for the huge marine engine was modifued so that generate forcing nodes in crosshead part and top bracing nodes in cylinder frame part. Third, a system matrix and output matrix was derived for the general siso(single input single out) state space model. Finally, developed state space model for the three dimensional finite elements model for the huge marine engine without the additional modifying process.

  • A numerical procedure is described for predicting the dynamic responses of combined systems of floating breakwaters and huge offshore structures supported by a large numer of the floating bodies in waves. The hydrodynamic interactins among tatal floating bodies are taken into account in their exact form within the context of linear potential theory. Wave control effects are discussed with both hydrodynamic interactions and hydrodynamic-structure interaction effects. The method presented is applicalbe to combined systems of floating breakwaters and huge structures for ocean space utilization for which a number of practical uses are seen in the future.

  • In domestic construction industry, now demand for airport facilities, gymnastic facilities, mass meeting facilities, sales facilities is increasing. Because of this, demand for huge space is also increasing. In making huge space, existing PEB(Pre-Engineered Building) and Pipe Truss, As span is lager and larger, steel weight is increasing and hard to apply for large span. For solving this problem, Many program was proposed, and in that Space Frame was rising. But in domestic construction there are very rare practical use for Space Frame. In this study, we wish to introduce Space Frame that has several advantages in construction expense, construction time, constructibility and also with analyzing example for applying Space Frame, wish to investigate characteristic of Space Frame. Go forward better, through comparison of other different old method and basic character of Space Frame, confirm advantage of Space Frame that have infinite development possibility and revitalize the Space Frame in domestic study and further more wish to raise practical use for Space Frame.

  • Neurofibromatosis type II is an autosomal dominant, highly penetrant disease whose hallmark is bilateral vestibular schwannoma. Hearing loss is the most symptom in Neurofibromatosis type II. The patient can also present with tinnitus, disequilibrium, and headache. Cranial nerve symptoms, such as facial numbness or weakness, dysphagia, or hoarseness, can also be present. The authors experienced a case of neurofibromatosis type II having huge retropharyngeal mass, retropharyngeal abscess, and bilateral acoustic neuromas. The infection was controled with aggressive antibiotics with drainage. The huge neurilemmoma in retropharyngeal space was removed successfully via transoral approach. The authors report the case with literature review.

  • Neurofibromatosis type I or Von Recklinghausen's disease can occur at any site in the body. It is characterized by multiple $c\'{a}fe\;\'{a}u\;l\'{a}it$ spots on the skin-more than six spots greater than 1.5cm-, neurofibromas of the peripheral and centarl nervous system, and variety of other dysplastic abnormalities of the skin, bones, endocrine organs, nervous systems, and blood vessels. It is an autosomal dominant trait disease with a frequency of 1 of 3000. Neurofibromatosis is known to be complicated by malignancies. Neurofibromatosis is progressive disease and shows a marked variations in expression in affected individuals. In this report we describe a male patient with neurofibromatosis type I developed in the parapharyngeal space. The patient had huge mass at left parapharyngeal space and inguinal area. We successfully treated the patient with surgery without complication.

  • In this paper, a new ray tracing algorithm which uses space subdivision method is introduced. In order to reduce huge number of ray-surface intersection calculation, the space is subdivided as lattice that contains minimum number of objects. With lattice structure, the process that calculates unnecessary ray-surface intersection is eliminated.

  • This paper describes the development of algorithm for direct data transmission between Raw VLBI Data Buffer (RVDB) and Huge Capacity Data Server (HCDS) operated in Korea-Japan Correlation Center (KJCC). The transmitted data is the VLBI observation data, which is recorded at each radio telescope site, and the data transmitting rate is varying from 1 Gbps, in usual case, upto 8 Gbps. The developed algorithm for data transmission enables the direct data transmission between RVDB and HCDS through 10 Gbps optical network using VLBI Data Interchange Format (VDIF). Proposed method adopts the conventional UDP/IP protocol, but in order to prevent the loss of data during data transmission, the packet error monitoring and data re-transmission functions are newly designed. The VDIF specification and VDIFCP (VDIF Control Protocol) are used for the direct data transmission between RVDB and HCDS. To validate the developed algorithm for data transmission, we conducted the data transmission from RVDB to HCDS, and compared to the transmitted data with the original data bit by bit. We confirmed that the transmitted data is identical to the original data without any loss and it has been recovered well even if there were some packet losses.

  • Future space missions will have larger telescopes in order to look deeper into space while improvising on spatial resolution. The primary mirrors for these telescopes will be so large that using a monolithic mirror will be nearly impossible because of the difficulties associated with its fabrication, transportation, and installation on a launch vehicle. The feasibility of launching these huge mirrors is limited because of their small launch fairing diameter. The aerodynamic shape of the fairing requires a small diameter, but the height of the launch vehicle, which is available for designers to utilize, is larger than the fairing diameter. This paper presents the development of an axial deployment mechanism based on the screw jack principle. The mechanism was designed and developed, and a prototype was constructed in order to demonstrate a lab model.
