A Study on the Competitiveness Improvement of Coastal Shipping for Northeast Asia Logistics-Hub (동북아(東北亞) 물류거점화(物流據點化)를 위한 연안해운(沿岸海運) 경쟁력(競爭力) 제고방안(提高方案)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this research is to present the improvement measure of lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge. For this purpose, this research tries to find out major northeast asia environment factors and accordingly the effects of its. The effects of coastal shipping system's development strategy is analysed by structural equation model and multiple regression model. Research results show that three types of coastal shipping developing strategy(connected transportation system, structure of coastal shipping system, governmental support policy) will contribute much to be logistic hub-nation. The contribution effects is increasing cargo from strengthened feeder transport system and maximizing logistic service &minimizing logistic costs. From the result, some implications are derived as follow. First, familiar environmental balanced ocean-coastal transport system is required. Second the one-stop logistic service system is necessary to build excusive feeder port, and to establish Ro-Ro ship & high-speed ship, etc.. Third, governmental support policy and subsidy(tax exempted oil & various tax benefits) are required to bring up lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge.

A Study on Orbital Forming Analysis of Automotive Hub Bearing using the Explicit Finite Element Method (외연적 유한요소법을 이용한 자동차 Hub Bearing의 Orbital Forming해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the orbital forming analysis of an automotive hub bearing was studied to predict forming performances using the explicit finite element method. To find an efficient solution technique for the orbital forming, axisymmetric finite element models and 3D solid element models were solved and numerically compared. The time scaling and mass scaling techniques were introduced to reduce the excessive computational time caused by small element size in case of the explicit finite element method. It was found from the numerical simulations on the orbital forming that the axisymmetric element models showed the similar results to the 3D solid element models in forming loads whereas the deformations at the inner race of bearing were quite different. Finally the strains at the inner race of bearing and the forming forces to the peen were measured for the same product of the numerical model by test, and were compared with the 3D solid element results. It was founded that the test results were in good agreements with the numerical ones.

  • Service R&D that adds high value to existing products and service by scientification, IT convergence, intellectualization is a core business of creative economy. It is necessary to examine the service R&D revitalization plan by establishing service R&D hub researching the service R&D because a shortage of facility and infrastructure makes impossible to turn ideas into products (service). This research aims at establishing the implementation plan of service R&D hub that invigorates local service industries and contributes to carry out the plan. Service R&D hub is a focal point of service R&D activities which inter-connects service R&D activities distributed across ministries of central government and fields of studies, and which invigorates service R&D activities and enhances competitive power of service industries in Korea. It is necessary to establish main hub like Service Engineering Research Center in Japan and Fraunhofer IAO in Germany which take the lead in national service R&D activities, and make it build the solid foundation of service R&D activities in public sector and also create service innovation ecosystem. Considering the interdisciplinary characters of service R&D, it is essential to establish additional sub-hubs to meet a variety of demands of service R&D. It is also necessary to establish 'Living Lab', an open innovation system, which connects research institutions, universities, and corporates to make them target the specific fields of their own, and enhance open R&D and innovation in service industries.

  • Single window has become a critical point of trade facilitation. While Korea has set up the first web based single window 'uTtradeHub', China has also been working on a seamless single window. As strong governmental support, advanced technology, leading agency and legal framework are success factors for single window, China already has solid foundation for this. For the leading agency, this research suggests the CIECC as a leading agency with linkage to E-Port service for seamless trade service for companies. We expect that Chinese single window will materialize in near future by a leading agency with the help of strong governmental support.

  • In this literature, we are introduce a basic design of multi energy hub based on natural gas governor station. Multi energy hub consists of turbo expender generator, phosphoric acid fuel cell, pressure swing adsorption, H2 charging station, utilities and etc. We design a hybrid energy hub system that provides energy using these complex energies, and calculates the amount of electricity that can be produced and the amount of hydrogen charged through the process analysis. TEG and phosphoric acid fuel cell produce 2,290 to 2,380 kW and can supply electricity to 500 houses. In addition, By-product H2 gas is refined to H2 vehicle fuel. This will help maximize the balance of energy demand and supply and improve national energy efficiency by integrating unused decompression energy power generation technology and various power generation/heat source technologies.

  • Fossil fuels have been main energy source to people. However, enormous amount of CO2 was emitted over the world , resulting in global climate crisis today. Recently, solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) is getting attention as an effective way for producing H2, a clean energy resource for the future. Also, SOEC could be applicable to reverse water-gas shift reaction process due to its high-temperature operating condition. Here, SOEC system was utilized for both H2 production and CO2 reduction process, allowing product gas composition change by controlling operating conditions.

  • Fleet sizing and distribution of empty equipments are two of the most critical problems in managing transportation system. This paper develops a cost model for sizing a fleet and establishing decentralized redistribution polices of empty equipments by building from inventory theory of multi-echelon system in hub-and-spoke network. An analytical approach to determine control variables of redistribution policies in each terminal and fleet size of the transportation system is proposed and its results are validated by simulation model. Numerical experiments are conducted with respect to parameters of the model and test results for assumptions of the model are discussed.

  • LMDS(Local Multipoint Distribution Service) is a broadband wireless transmission system in millimeter wave frequency. LMDS system is consisted with relay system to connect between head-end and hub and distribution system to connect between hub and subscribers. In this study, we develop point-to-point relay system to use back-bone system n LMDS network. We develop STM-1 transceiver over 27GHz and analyze the system performance. We can get the similar measurement results comparing the theoretical results and then prove that this system can fit LMDS back-bone network requirement. This is the first system in Korea and we expect this system can apply the various network.
