A Physical Cochlear Model for Transducer Performance Evaluation of Implantable Hearing Aid with Round Window Driver (정원창 구동기의 진동체 성능 평가를 위한 내이 물리모델)

  • Recently, various hearing aids are developed to overcome hearing loss. There are available hearing aids, such as air conduction hearing aid, implantable middle ear hearing aid and so on. But air conduction hearing aid is inconvenience caused by howling, and ossicle chain driving type implantable middle ear hearing aid has some week point due to problem of possible nercobiosis of coupling spot along incus long process. In recent years, in order to improve these shortcomings round window (RW) driving hearing aid has been paying attention. In this paper, the physical cochlear model is proposed for a performance evaluation of the RW driving hearing aids of a transducer. In order to verify an experiment proposed on a performance of physical cochlear model, the transducer which has ossicles characteristics is used. By measuring and comparing the frequency characteristics of transducer with ossicles and human temporal bone, performance of physical cochlear model was verified. As from the result of experiment, it is expected that an implemented cochlear model is useful for evaluating characteristics of RW transducer.

Analysis and Improvement Specific Frequency Reception Noise Phenomena Due to RF Radiation Signal (RF 방사 신호로 인한 특정 주파수 수신 잡음 현상의 원인분석 및 개선)

  • The purpose of this paper was to identify a method to improve received noise in a specific frequency band, caused by RF radiation signals during aircraft operation. The communication equipment of the aircraft is critical to the performance and safety of the flight mission, as it is responsible for the function of internal and external communications. Noise-free, clean communication quality, as well as transmission and receiving functions have to be implemented. Thus, the cause analysis of the reception noise in a specific frequency band, was analyzed through trouble shooting. The receiving noise due to the RF radiation signal emitted from the subsystem unit inside the aircraft, was improved by shielding with a CAP with electroless nickel plating applied. Additionally, the measurement and verification results of the improvement method are also described.

Implementation of Audio Effect Device for Anchor System

  • Recently, Audio systems transform the configuration of conventional sound reinforcement and public address systems using audio over internet protocol (AoIP), whereby audio signals are transmitted and received based on internet protocol (IP). Currently, AoIP technologies are leading the audio market, and various technologies have been released. Audio networks and the control hierarchy over peer-to-peer (Anchor) technology based on AoIP transmit and receive audio signals over a wide bandwidth without an audio mixer. Audio system based on Anchor technology is constructed by connecting the on-site audio center (OAC), a device that can transmit and receive audio sources and output equipment over IP. Receiving OAC of the Anchor technology can receive and mix audio signals transmitted from different IPs; consequently, novel audio systems can be configured by replacing conventional audio mixers. However, the Anchor technology does not have an equalizer function for improving the quality of audio equipment. Therefore, tone distortion may occur owing to signal loss between equipment, poor audio-signal clarity, and howling due to audio deformation according to different architectural structures and environments. In this study, we implemented an audio effect device capable of tone control using the Audio Processor Core. Using Anchor technology, tone control was realized through an audio effect device in the receiving OAC. The output of the incoming OAC was received by the audio effect device, which adjusted the tone and then outputted it. Thus, the tone issues in Anchor technology were overcome by the receiving OAC and audio effect devices. In future, audio system configurations using Anchor technology could be the standard for audio equipment.

Evaluation of a signal segregation by FDBM (FDBM의 음원분리 성능평가)

  • Various approaches for sound source segregation have been proposed. Among these approaches, frequency domain binaural model(FDBM) has the advantages of low computational load and effective howling cancellation. A binaural hearing assistance system based on FDBM has been proposed. This system can enhance desired signal based on the directivity information. Although FDBM has been evaluated in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and coherence function, the evaluation results do not always agree with the human impressions. These evaluation methods provide physical measures, and do not take account of perceptual aspect of human being. Considering a binaural hearing assistance system as a one of major applications, the quality of segregated sound should keep level enough. In the paper, signal segregation performance by means of FDBM is evaluated by three objective methods, i.e., SNR, coherence and Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality(PESQ), to discuss the characteristic of FDBM on the sound source segregation performance. The simulation's evaluation results show that FDBM improves the quality of the left and right channel signals to an equivalent level. And the results suggest the possibility that PESQ provides a more useful measure than SNR and coherence in terms of the segregation performance of FDBM. The evaluation results by PESQ show the effects from segregation parameters and indicate appropriate parameters under the conditions. Development of an Editor and Howling Engine for Realtime Software Programmable Logic Controller based on Intelligent Agents (지능적 에이전트에 의한 실시간 소프트웨어 PLC 편집기 및 실행엔진 개발)

  • Recently, PC-based control is incredibly developed in the industrial control field, but it is difficult for PLC programming in PC. Therefore, I need to develop the softeware PLC, which support the international PLC programming standard(IECl131-3) and can be applied to diverse control system by using C language. In this paper, I have developed the ISPLC(Intelligent Agent System based Software Programmable Logic Controller). In ISPLC system, LD programmed by a user which is used over $90\%$ among the 5 PLC languages, is converted to IL, which is one of intermediate codes, and IL is converted to the standard C rode which can be used in a commercial editor such as Visual C++. In ISPLC, the detection of logical error in high level programming(C) is more eaier than PLC programming itself The study of code conversion of LD->IL->C is firstly tried in the world as well as KOREA. I developed an execution engine with a good practical application. To show the effectiveness of the developed system, 1 applied it to a practical case, a real time traffic control(RT-TC) system. ISPLC is minimized the error debugging and programming time owing to be supported by windows application program.
