Tilt rotor aircraft was developed for satisfying VSTOL (vertical short take off and landing) capability and cruise performance. However the noise generated by tilt rotor system causes one of the most serious problems. In this paper, noise characteristics of tilt rotor system in hovering flight are predicted by using free wake method and Lowson's formula. The flow field of the tilt rotor is simulated by using time marching free wake method, and the free field acoustic pressure is calculated through Lowson's formula. The predicted results are compared with experimental data at various observing positions. In the near field, they show good agreement with experimental data regardless of rotating speed and collective pitch angles of 6, 8 and 10 degree, although there are some discrepancies between prediction and experiment in the far field and at the rotating axis in the near field. It seems that the reason of these discrepancies is difference of unsteady force fluctuation between experiment and calculation.
Numerical simulation was performed for the rotor blade with fixed tab in hover using an unstructured mesh Navier-Stokes flow solver. The inflow and outflow boundary conditions using 1D momentum and 3D sink theory were applied to reduce computational time. Calculations were performed at several operating conditions of varying collective pitch angle and fixed tab length. The aerodynamic effect of fixed tab length was investigated for hovering efficiency, pitching moment and flapping moment of the rotor blade. The results show that it affects linearly increasing on the pitching moment of the rotor blade but does not affect on the flapping moment. The required power is less than 45kw for ground rotating test in hover. Numerical simulations also show that the vortex generate not only from the tip of the rotor blade but also from the fixed tab on the rotor blade.

CFD method has been coupled with a time-marching free-wake model by usingfield velocity approach suggested by J. D. Baeder (Ref. 1). The coupled method hasbeen applied to rectangular and BERP-like blades and the calculated perfonnance dataare compared with the experimental results. For hovering analysis, the present method could yield sufficiently good resultswith reasonable computation time and is particularly suitable for the flow fieldanalysis with the complex shaped blade.

Computational methods based on the solution of the flow model are widely used for the analysis of lowspeed, inviscid, attached-flow problems. Most of such methods are based on the implementation of the internal Dirichlet boundary condition. In this paper, the time-domain panel method uses the piecewise constant source and doublet singularities. The present method utilizes the time-stepping loop to simulate the unsteady motion of the rotary wing blade. The wake geometry is calculated as part of the solution with no special treatment. To validate the results of aerodynamic characteristics, the typical blade was chosen such as, Caradonna-Tung blade and present results were compared with the experimental data and the other numerical results in the single blade condition and two blade condition. This isolated rotor blade model consisted of a two bladed rotor with untwisted, rectangular planform blade. Computed flow-field solutions were presented for various section of the blade in the hovering mode.
One of the major advancements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is the use of Internet of Drones (IoD), which combines the Internet of Things (IoT) and drone technology. IoD technology is especially important for efficiently and economically operating C4ISR operations in actual battlefields supporting various combat situations. The purpose of this study is to solve the problems of limited battery capacity of drones and lack of budgeting criteria for military drone transcription, introduction, and operation. If the mission area is defined and corresponding multi-drone hovering check points and mission completion time limits are set, then an energy and time co-optimized scheduling and operation control scheme is needed. Because such a scheme does not exist, in this paper, a Drone Force Deployment Optimization (DFDO) scheme is proposed to help schedule multi-drone operation scheduling and networked based remote multi-drone control.

Mountain accidents such as forest fires and missing people are increasing as hikers increase due to indoor activities restrictions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 incident. If a dangerous situation occurs at outside where rescue workers cannot reach, the search time for person can be reduced using a quadcopter. Considering this, in this paper, Multiwii is used to smoothly hover the quadcopter by setting optimized PID values of the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis (Yaw) according to the change in the inclination of the gas. In addition, after installing Open CV on Raspberry Pie, the camera uses HSV color space to filter the color such as the description of the person, and uses a thermal imaging camera to receive thermal sensing images in real time in environments where color extraction is difficult. As a result, it was confirmed that hovering was possible at a height of 2 to 8 m, blue extraction was possible at a height of 5 m, and heat detection was possible at a distance of less than 10 cm.

As appearance of diverse electric power supplies and fuel cells have been emerging, UAVs have capacity to prolong their flight missions. Nowadays, the rotary based UAVs that are commonly distributed on the open market, adapt rechargeable batteries and have around 50 centimeters in width and generally within 30 minutes in hovering flight capacities. UAV's flight time highly depends on the capacity and the weight of its batteries. To cope with the flight time, recharging methods are also being researched. their researches are mainly divided into coupled and decoupled in manner. In this article, we propose the method to refine the position more effectivly and precisely adapting QR Code and 3-D position estimation so that UAVs enable to land on the recharging system successfully.
A model helicopter is an unstable, multi-input multi-output nonlinear system exposed to strong disturbances and its system parameters change continually. In this paper, Time Delay Control(TDC) is adopted for these reasons. TDC uses past observation of the system's response and the control input to directly modify the control action rather than adjusting the controller gains leading to a model independent robust controller. TDC can force the plant to follow an appropriate reference model, but the reference model cannot be chosen arbitrarily. In this paper the procedure of choosing a reference model and the performance of the controller are presented.

The use of beamforming method and de-Dopplerization technique was applied in studying the rotating sound sources. Acoustic analysis of a moving sound source required that the measured sound signals be do-Dopplerized and restored as of the original emission signals. Two main issues of the signal reconstruction in time domain are addressed herein: First, to remove Doppler effect from the measured data and to restore the original emission data of the moving source. The difference of the time domain beamforming from the frequency domain beamforming was mentioned. Also, the time domain beamforming method is deployed in the test and the comparisons were made to the frequency domain results. The time domain signal reconstruction was numerically simulated prior to the application. To validate the de-Dopplerization Performance, the rotating Point sources were examined and localized by the use of a phased array of microphone. The application of prop-rotor was conducted in a hovering condition. The results of reconstructing time signals of rotating sources and its locations were shown in the power distribution maps. In the prop-rotor measurements, the acoustic source locations were successfully verified in varying positions for different frequencies of interest.

The endurance of the multi-copter is one of the important variables that determine the mission performance. Therefore, accurate endurance should be defined as essential for performing effective missions. In this paper, we present the results of the study on the flight performance of the aircraft, especially the hovering of the drone(multi-copter). Unlike conventional aircraft, which consider aerodynamic performance by the fuselage, the multi-copter is mostly determined by the propulsion system. Therefore, the research method classifies the various parts constituting the drone system into functions, analyzes the performance of the unit parts and obtains the experimental data by sorting out the specifications and functions at the component level and mathematical formulation, The results of this study are as follows. In addition, the 5kg class quad copter was used to predict and verify the voltage change with endurance through analysis of in situ flight. By predicting endurance under various conditions, it can help design/build the right Multi-copter for mission.
