The architects offered an innovative building typology such as row housing and new prototype of housing units accordingly social needs. Especially, In this study housing unitplans were in 6 groups such as flexible type, cabin type, free open plan, Raumplan, functional 2-story type and corridor type categorized. And they were analyzed how deeply technological development, architectural design perceptions as well as functional aspects had on the planning of floorplans reflected. As a result, in the housing exhibitions various architectural ideas presented the "Zeitgeist" not only such as improvement of physical environment of housing, but also such as rationalization, standardization, functionalization, normalization of housing architecture. Also their unitplans corresponded to newly developed building typology and modern household type. As well as they represented notable spatial concepts. These model houses represented the new housing trend of the Chosun society, so this research was necessary to find out the facts. The main materials used for this research were issues from 'Chosun and Architecture'. The objects of this research was to find out the activity of the AAC and to classify the displayed model houses according to the structure, plan and interior. These three model houses depicted the improved housing designs at that time. Improved housing designs also depicted the convenience of everyday life, hygiene, improvement of facilities and the application of modem lift to that era. Therefore, these three houses would be revaluated as new models of houses for the Chosun society under education activity by the AAC.
This study examines the influence of experiencing interactive media in exhibition halls on the satisfaction and perception for the exhibition space. Field measurements and surveys were performed in two exhibition halls where various interactive media were exhibited. Results imply that experiencing interactive media was important to enhance understanding the information provided by them. In order to improve satisfaction for the exhibition halls, the layout of space need to be organized effectively in a way that visitors easily feel interest in the contents and information exhibited in the space. Also, in order to keep better perception for exhibition space, the information provided in the space should be organized clearly and open to visitors easily. The flow of visitors' traffic in the exhibition space should be perceived easily by the visitors. Multiple linear regression indicated that the space should be organized effectively with good visual composition that surrounds the exhibits in order to improve satisfaction level for the exhibition hall. In addition, various information provided by the media contributed to improve perception for the exhibition hall.
This study aims to clarify the architectural characteristics of three houses of Choseon Exhibition. Exposition/exhibitions were thought to be a model for the world. It shows the real status of the development, and thinking with visions at that times; therefore, exhibited house models would be a good source for what to be considered for the ideal houses of that times. Through the study, we could find out as belows. 1. The houses exhibited conserved the sitting-on-floor living style, otherwise the most proposals for house improvement suggested a chair-and-table style because of its hygienic quality and integration of the life at home and at work(school, too). 2. The spacial scheme for-family prior over for-guest was emphasized, but models at the exhibition were structured with Japanese traditional spacial program, such as Jashiki(座敷), Kyakunoma(客の間) or Tsuginoma(次の間), which were all Tatami-floored. 3. Through this exhibition, it is clarified that the architectural society in colonial Korea also tried to improve the modern housings, not only direct reception of the developed proposals. These houses was planned with the acceptance of the locality, such like Ondol, a floor heating facility which the Japanese engineer improve the efficiency. 4. Also these exhibited houses became a start to recognize a house as a product, and spurred on commercialization. As the result, we could find out that these exhibited houses accepted the modern housing proposals selectively, and that even if the exhibitions shows the advance in usual these houses were planned with the very conservative notions.
The registered-properties guideline was adopted to preserve the facade of existing cultural assets with effect and alter the interior space freely. But many problems have been occurred over all the converted buildings with the passing of the years as a result of unfeasible design guidelines. Accordingly, the thesis is to propose the problem and assignment in a setting for a display through the conversion for exhibition of Korean traditional houses designated as modern cultural heritage focused on Riwhachang Choi Sunu House. The results are as follows; The exhibition circulation is continuously connected with each room, considering the previous life-style. The interior design elements are preserved according to the stand-up and sitting style. It is possible to put on one sided wall display in stand up style(Rhiwhachang), and island showcase display in sitting style(Choi Sunu House). And also these apparatus is suitable for the existing window pattern and frame. Therefore, this study is to suggest an assignment of design guideline for exhibition reuse in Korean Traditional Houses as well as the sustainable preservation of cultural assets as modern house.
This study is purposed to analyze of House Vision exhibition and projects in Japan. The contemporary residence has been planned and designed with fixed territory and boundary of rooms. According to the symposium of House Vision, the spatial boundary can be studied in the aspect of territory that molds the experience of residents. So, this study reviews Aldo van Eyck's concept of 'in-between'. Through the analysis, House Vision exhibition is revealed that the housing models present architectural characteristics of middleware and third place. The cognition of internal and external boundary stems from movements and activities of residents. That is the dwelling and residential space determined by users and residents. In this regard, 'in-between' of House Vision has structures(multilayer) causing various relationships to be perceived, so as to connect with the dwelling and activities of residents. As a result, it has relational meanings of sharing, as well as makes possible other community life to be done. According to the projects of House Vision, the units and cores have created the new connections and relationships between privacy and publicity. In conclusion, this research shows a new direction of the spatial strategies on House Vision exhibition in Japan.
The purpose of this study is to examine the innovative and experimental housing design alternatives in the transition period to the modern era and to discuss about the motivation of modern architectural form. Thus, first, this study examined the planning concepts and the meaning of new design of the four Werkbund dwelling Exhibitions in eastern Europe reflecting the demands of modern times. Second, I analyzed how the formative experiment appeared as a stereoscopic mass design and as a architectural composition in exterior. Experimental trials at housing exhibitions were to respond to the demands for the new forms, which required a new approach to modern style and aesthetics. The major features of formative experiments can be summarized as follows. First, new housing design have escaped from the historically descended style. Secondly, through the operation of volume and surface modern dwelling created a formative conformation. Finally, the shape and the surface replaced the decoration. In conclusion, the works of modern architects can be said to have achieved the harmony between 'purpose of expression' and 'technical purpose' in realizing the 'Zeitgeist' that corresponds to the paradigm of modern housing.
With the introduction of the ubiquitous technology, the housing culture centers have demonstrated future housing image or technology. But Ubiquitous Home Services in the future housing were more focused on implementation of environment for the future than exhibition that consumers can experience. The purpose of this study was to identify ubiquitous home services which were realized in domestic future housing and to compare those with results of previous researches on demand for u-services. For this study, field study was conducted with 3 domestic future housings and 14 previous studies on demand of u-services were analyzed by the standard of residents demand. The results of the study showed that u-services for housework and leisure life more than those for security and health, were applied in the future housing. However, residents prefered u-services for security and control of indoor environment to those for housework and leisure life. As a result, it was found thatu-services which residents needed mainly were discordant with those that were displayed frequently in future housing. Also developing u-services reflected the needs of residents, a test bed has to be established in the future housing and then pre-evaluaiton can be conducted.

Respondents were housewives from 395 households living in Seoul area. Questionnaire was used for survey and the collected data were classified by two items such as types of residence and age of housewives. The survey was performed during two weeks in September 1997 and analyzed by frequency mean and percentage using SAS program The finding are as follows; (1) According to the actual conditions of housing consultation the main source of information related to housing was a newspaper Those who had experience detached house had much more opportunities than those of multi-family house. The most frequent agency for housing consultation was a realty dealer showing 65.8%. However the percentage of visiting permanent housing exhibition centers was high among the people aged 20 to 30, noted 20.4%. (2) Level of understanding housing consultation showed 3.45 points among 5. This result indicated that the service system of housing consultation were required. Architects and interior designers were most preferred as specialists whom the respondents wanted to consult with . As to the contents of consultation the most required item was changing of interior space(22.6%). In case the housing information leaflet is sold the respondents were willing to pay 523 won for each of it. (3) Among leaflets related to various information leaflets about housing purchase were most preferred(21.0%) According to the result of the survey the need for the information about housing purchase indicated higher preference than about housing management.
