The autogenous free gingival graft is the most predictable procedure currently used to increase the width of the attached gingiva in periodontics. But the major disadvantage of the procedure is to create the multiple surgical wounds at both a donor site and a recipient site. The other problem is the limited amount of available graft material in oral cavity. Therefore, recent researches have been focused to develop the biomaterial to substitute the autogenous gingival tissue. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the histologic healing after grafting of bilayer artificial dermis, compared to the free gingival graft. Four non-smoking subjects (mean age, 32.5 years) in systemically healthy state and good oral hygiene were selected according to their particular needs for correction of mucogingival problems as suggested by Nabers(1966). The recipient sites were prepared through the procedure for the free gingival graft and were grouped according to the graft materials: Experimental group(n=5) - bilayer artifcia1 dermis ($Terudermis^{(R)}$; Terumo Co. Japan) and Control group(n=6) - free gingival graft with autogenous palatal mucosa. Biopsies were harvested at 1,2,3 and 6 weeks postsurgery to evaluate histologically. At the third week in the experimental group and at the second week of in the control group, the grafts has been clinically stabilized on the recipient bed and the graft border has been blended into the surrounding tissue. In the experimental group after 1 week of grafting, the epithelial migration from the adjacent tissue to graft material was seen and after 3 weeks of grafting, the : nflmmation decreased, collagen layer of the artificial dermis was lost and the basement membrane of epithelium was formed. After 6 weeks of grafting, both groups demonstrated orthokeratinized epithelium and increased thickness of epithelial tissue and the rete peg formation, similar to the adjacent tissue, Histologic evaluation revealed a biologic acceptance and incorporation of the collagen layers of the graft tissue to the host tissue, without foreign body reaction. In conclusion, a bilayer artificial dermis is essentially similar to autogeneous free gingival graft in the correction of mucogingival problems, and has the advantages of decreased patient morbidity (no donor site) and availability of abundant amounts of graft material when needed.
Acheilognathus signifer is distributed widely in high density in the Naechon-stream. The order of this-stream was 2 ${\sim}$ 4 and the water width is wide but the depth is relatively shallow and the sinuosity is 1.83, which indicates a meandering stream. The water width/stream width ratio is 1.59, which suggests moderate entrenchment. Naechon-stream was classed as B type by Rosgen (1995). The natural habitat of A. signifer is a slow flow velocity pool, like a backwater pool, which is made up of piled up boulders that restricts the flow of water. The stream bed is made up of boulders and sands that enable the spawning host to inhabit. A. signifer selects a microhabitat where the boulders furnish hiding places. The Habitat of A. signifer is strongly affected by the existence or not there of U. douglasiae sinuolatus. After hatching from the mussel, A. signifer inhabits the surface of the water. It then moves to the low layer once it acquires swimming ability. While A. signifer inhabits the river in summer, A. signifer moves to the deeper layers in winter, where there are the refuge like rocks and boulders. In spring A. signifer moves from the deep water to the river line where the mussels reside.

The green emitting high performance OLEDs using the $Alq_3$-C545T fluorescent system have been fabricated and characterized. In the device fabrication, 2-TNATA [4,4',4'-tris(2-naphthylphenyl-phenylamino)-triphenylamine] as a hole injection material and NPB [N,N'-bis(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine] as a hole transport material were deposited on the ITO(indium thin oxide)/glass substrate by vacuum evaporation. And then, green color emission layer was deposited using $Alq_3$ as a host material and C-545T[10-(2-benzothiazolyl)-1,1,7,7- tetramethyl-2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-1H,5H,11H-[1]/benzopyrano[6,7,8-ij]-quinolizin-11-one] as a dopant. Finally, small molecule OLEDs with structure of ITO/2-TNATA/NPB/$Alq_3$:C545T/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al were obtained by in-situ deposition of $Alq_3$, LiF and Al as the electron transport material, electron injection material and cathode, respectively. Green OLEDs fabricated in our experiments showed the color coordinate of CIE(0.29, 0.65) and the maximum power efficiency of 7.3 lm/W at 12 V with the peak emission wavelength of 521 nm.
The most popular world wide web traffic in the Internet uses TCP as the transport layer protocol. Since TCP utilizes the single path, it can not communicate with the correspondent host during the link-down. On the other hand, SCTP can still communicate with the other SCTP entity by using alternate path even while the primary path is down. Most of previous studies have conducted the performance comparison research between TCP and SCTP by using typical file transfer. Since web traffic with self-similarity is characterized by the packet inter-arrival times and shape parameter affecting the size of web file in the Pareto distribution, it is necessary to perform the experiments considering these parameters. This paper aims to compare the throughput between TCP and SCTP while varying parameters reflecting the web traffic characteristics in link-down environment. Experimental results for web traffic using NS-2 simulator show that the throughput of SCTP using multi-homing is better than that of TCP. Simulation also shows that TCP is more affected than SCTP by mean inter-arrival and shape parameters with regard to the web traffic. These results can be applied to estimate the performance variation of web traffic due to the duration of link-down.
Flash memory has been attracting attention as the next mass storage media for mobile computing systems such as notebook computers and UMPC(Ultra Mobile PC)s due to its low power consumption, high shock and vibration resistance, and small size. A storage system with flash memory excels in random read, sequential read, and sequential write. However, it comes short in random write because of flash memory's physical inability to overwrite data, unless first erased. To overcome this shortcoming, we propose an SSD(Solid State Disk) architecture with two novel features. First, we utilize non-volatile FRAM(Ferroelectric RAM) in conjunction with NAND flash memory, and produce a synergy of FRAM's fast access speed and ability to overwrite, and NAND flash memory's low and affordable price. Second, the architecture categorizes host write requests into small random writes and large sequential writes, and processes them with two different buffer management, optimized for each type of write request. This scheme has been implemented into an SSD prototype and evaluated with a standard PC environment benchmark. The result reveals that our architecture outperforms conventional HDD and other commercial SSDs by more than three times in the throughput for random access workloads.
Cities will soon host two third of the population worldwide, and already today 80% of the world energy is used in the 20 largest cities. Urban areas create 80% of the greenhouse gas emission, so we should take care that urban areas are smart and sustainable as implementations have especially here the greatest impact. Smart Cities (SC) or Smart Sustainable Cities (SSC) are the actual concepts that describe methodologies how cities can handle the high density of citizens, efficiency of energy use, better quality of life indicators, high attractiveness for foreign investments, high attractiveness for people from abroad and many other critical improvements in a shifting environment. But if we talk about Entrepreneurship Ecosystem and Innovation, we do not see a lot of literature covering this topic within those SC/SSC concepts. It seems that 'Smart' implies that all is embedded, or isn't it properly covered as brick stone of SC/SSC concepts, as they are handled in another 'responsibility silo', meaning that the policy implementation of a Science and Technology Park (STP) is handled in another governing body than SC/SSC developments. If this is true, we will obviously miss a lot of synergy effects and economies of scale effects. Effects that we could have in case we stop the siloed approaches of STPs by following a more holistic concept of a Smart Sustainable City, covering also a continuous flow of innovation into the city, without necessarily always depend on large corporate SSC solutions. We try to argue that every SSC should integrate SP/STP concepts or better their features and services into their methodology. The very limited interconnectivity between these concepts within the governance models limits opportunities and performance in both systems. Redesigning the architecture of the governance models and accepting that we have to design a system-of-systems would support the possible technology flow for smart city technologies, it could support testbed functionalities and the public-private partnership approach with embedded business models. The challenge is of course in complex governance and integration, as we often face siloed approaches. But real SSC are smart as they are connecting all those unconnected siloes of stakeholders and technologies that are not yet interoperable. We should not necessarily follow anymore old greenfield approaches neither in SSCs nor in SP and STP concepts from the '80s that don't fit anymore, being replaced by holistic sustainability concepts that we have to implement in any new or revised SSC concepts. There are new demands for each SP/STP being in or close to an SC/SCC as they have a continuous demand for feeding the technology base and the application layer and should also act as testbeds. In our understanding, a big part of STP inputs and outputs are still needed, but in a revised and extended format. We know that most of the SC/STP studies claim the impact is still far from understood and often debated, therefore we must transform the concepts where SC/STPs are not own 'cities', but where they act as technology source and testbed for industry and new SSC business models, being part of the SC/STP concept and governance from the beginning.
The number of capabilities of Internet of Things (IoT) devices will exponentially grow over the next years. These devices may generate a vast amount of time-constrained data. In the context of IoT, data management should act as a layer between the objects and devices generating the data and the applications accessing the data for analysis purposes and services. In addition, most of IoT services will be content-centric rather than host centric to increase the data availability and the efficiency of data delivery. IoT will enable all the communication devices to be interconnected and make the data generated by or associated with devices or objects globally accessible. Also, fog computing keeps data and computation close to end users at the edge of network, and thus provides a new breed of applications and services to end users with low latency, high bandwidth, and geographically distributed. In this paper, we propose Edge-Fog cloud-based Hierarchical Data Delivery ($EFcHD^2$) method that effectively and reliably delivers IoT data to associated with IoT applications with ensuring time sensitivity. The proposed $EFcHD^2$ method stands on basis of fully decentralized hybrid of Edge and Fog compute cloud model, Edge-Fog cloud, and uses information-centric networking and bloom filters. In addition, it stores the replica of IoT data or the pre-processed feature data by edge node in the appropriate locations of Edge-Fog cloud considering the characteristic of IoT data: locality, size, time sensitivity and popularity. Then, the performance of $EFcHD^2$ method is evaluated through an analytical model, and is compared to fog server-based and Content-Centric Networking (CCN)-based data delivery methods.
Experimatal maxillary sinusitis was induced in New Zealand white rabbits by blocking the maxillary sinus ostium. The distribution of lectin receptors was explored in the mucosa with induced maxillary sinusitis using colloidal gold label complex with lectin WGA purified from wheat germ (Triticum vulgaris). The lectin WGA gold complex, shown to recognize GlcNac (N-acetylglucosamine) and NeuNAc (N-acetylneuraminic acid) regions, was applied to detect binding sites in Lowicryl HM 20 sections and viewed under the electron microscope. An increased height of the cylindric cells, ciliary loss and hyperplasia of the secretory cells were observed. Examination of normal sinus mucosa labeled with gold-labeled lectins showed the distribution of sialoglycoconjugates to be mainly in the ciliary layer and the granules in the secretory cells. Inflamed mucosa had increased labeling intensity of gold-labeled WGA in the cilia and the secretory granules. These results indicate that lectin WGA receptors are located in the cilia and secretory granules. Specific changes in the lectin binding pattern were apparent in the inflamed mucosa in the experimentally induced acute sinusitis, in comparison with normal mucosa, conceivably as a part of host defense reactions.

Recent wide spread of embedded devices and technology growth of broadband communication has led to rapid increase in the volume of created and managed data. As a result, data centers have to increase the storage capacity cost-effectively to store the created data. Data deduplication is one way to save the storage space by removing redundant data. This work propose IO extent based deduplication schemes called CORE-Dedup that exploits content-preserving access locality. We acquire IO traces from block device layer in virtual machine host, and compare the deduplication performance of chunking method between the fixed size and IO extent based. At multiple workload of 10 user's compile in virtual machine environment, the result shows that 4 KB fixed size chunking and IO extent based chunking use chunk index 14500 and 1700, respectively. The deduplication rate account for 60.4% and 57.6% on fixed size and IO extent chunking, respectively.

The ability of probiotics to adhere to the intestinal epithelium likely plays an important role in their colonization of the gastrointestinal tract. Here, we performed high-throughput screening (HTS) for suitable characteristics of potential probiotic bacteria using attachment and colonization ability through a C. elegans surrogate in vivo model. A total of 100 strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from infant feces were subjected to the colonization assay using C. elegans intestine. Based on colonization ability, we showed that nine isolates have a high attachment ability during whole experimental periods (up to 168 h), compared to Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain GG as a control. Also, through the use of an in vitro cell attachment model, nine isolates revealed highly binding activity to the mucus layer. Next, the selected 9 isolates were assayed for their survival ability when exposed to acidic and bile conditions as well as cholesterol reduction and the utilization of prebiotic substrates. As a result, the isolated nine strains were determined to be highly resistant to acid and bile conditions. In addition, they have significant activity for the reduction of cholesterol and utilization of several prebiotic substrates as a carbon source. Finally, the selected nine strains were identified by either L. rhamnosus or L. plantarum (4 strains for L. rhamnosus and 5 strains for L. plantarum, respectively). Taken together, we propose that the direct colonization of probiotics using C. elegans may be applicable to the rapid screening of valuable probiotic strains in vivo.
