Objectives: This study aimed to identify methods that help medical consumers to be aware of relevant information regarding changes in dental health insurance policy. Methods: The following results were obtained from a survey regarding awareness and satisfaction with dental health insurance policy among the general public aged 20 years or older in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and other areas from August 1, 2017 to August 23, 2017. Results: The correlation between adults' awareness of and satisfaction with dental health insurance was 0.471, where satisfaction with dental health insurance was enhanced with increasing awareness of dental health insurance (p<0.001). Factors that significantly affected awareness of dental health insurance were marriage (married p<0.05), medical service (dental university hospital, p<0.01), and satisfaction with dental health insurance (p<0.001); these factors explained 29.2% of the variance. Factors that significantly affected satisfaction with dental health insurance were final education (high school graduation, p<0.05), medical service (dental hospital, p<0.05), and awareness of dental health insurance (p<0.001); these factors explained 27.8% of the variance. Conclusions: Importantly, awareness of the government's operation of dental health insurance and the benefits of such dental health insurance were low, suggesting that the government and national health insurance agency should improve the level of transparency in dental health insurance operations and continuously promote dental health insurance benefits to the public.

Independent t-test, one way ANOVA, the Scheffe posthoc test, and the Pearson correlation results were reviewed, and a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results: Self-leadership, career decision self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior were scored 3.29, 3.36, and 2.91 points, respectively. The variables that influenced career preparation behavior were the motion of major select and self-leadership. These factors had 30.5% of variance among dental hygiene students. Conclusions: Institutional support, including counseling and leadership education by professors and students, is needed in schools to improve the career preparation behavior of students majoring in dental hygiene.
Impacted supernumerary anterior teeth (mesiodens) usually are removed surgically with drug sedation and local anesthesia. After extraction of mesiodens, the wound are sutured and removable resin plate is then applied. In this operation, the postoperative bleeding and infection is likely to occur owing to postoperative accumulation of hematoma & seroma, psychologic stress and other contaminated factors (resin plate, poor oral hygiene, etc). So, the authors established the immediate rubber & iodoform gauze drainage into the sutured wound of mesiodens extraction for the prevention of postoperative bleeding and infection. The removable resin splint are not used because of the poor oral hygiene and economic factor. The results were more favorable without the postoperative blood oozing & wound infection in the dentistry (OMFS) of Wonju Christian Hospital.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess hand hygiene (HH) compliance among visitors at a long-term care hospital in South Korea. Methods: The study was conducted at a 502-bed long-term care hospital located in Gyeonggi-do Province. From July 1 to August 15, 2017, including more than 6 weekends and one holiday, a trained observer covertly assessed visitors' HH at all five units (360 beds in total) of the study hospital building until the completion of 1,000 HH opportunities (i.e., 200 opportunities per unit). The modified World Health Organization (WHO) HH observation form was used. Instead of professional categories and the "before clean/aseptic procedure" moment, the estimated age range for each visitor were recorded in four categories: children (<14 years old), adolescents (14~18), adults (19~64), and the elderly (${\geq}65$). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Results: A total of 1,000 HH opportunities were observed from 766 visitors (an average of 1.31 per visitor) and the overall HH compliance rate was 20.3%. Overall, 53.7% of the HH cases were performed with soap and water. Among the 4 HH moments, the "after body fluid exposure risk" moment showed the highest compliance rate (83.5%); 93.9% used soap and water. The most commonly exposed potential body fluid among visitors was saliva (48.1%). Conclusion: For hospital visitors in long-term care hospitals, HH education programs including HH moments need to be developed and implemented. Further studies are necessary to evaluate visitors' HH compliance in various hospital settings and find the related variables influencing visitors' HH.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the status of oral health in relation to the acknowledgement of oral health trouble and oral health habits. Methods : This study was conducted after IRB was received, on 273 patients who had received health screenings between October-1, 2014 and January-31, 2015 at a general hospital in Busan. Results : Regarding the status of oral health in relation to the acknowledgement of oral health trouble, the rates of dental caries and periodontal disease were higher when the patients knew the reasons for trouble about the oral hygiene. With regard to oral health habits, our results showed that the more frequently the patients ate sugary snacks per day, the probability of experiencing periodontal disease was higher than for the patients who did not eat sugary snacks. Our results also, showed that the occurrence of dental caries is very much dependent upon whether a patient had experienced education on toothbrushing. Conclusions : Patients need to become more aware of their oral health through education. A program that emphasizes the importance of preventive oral health behaviors and the maintenance of correct oral health behavior should be developed.

Reuser rates of disposable dental care products differed according to 'hospital type', 'average number of patients per day', 'presence or absence of infection control guidelines', and 'experience in infection management training in the last two years' (p<0.05). Conclusions: In order to manage infection of DDCS, the level of infection control system in the workplace is improved and support for related education is needed. In addition, guidelines and regulations on prohibition of reuse and classification criteria for various DDCS should be prepared.

Results : Women had high satisfaction scores of medical services in certainty and empathy properties. 40s and higher had the highest score in the type property. 30s had high score in the certainty property. For expected service satisfaction, 30s had the highest score in dental practitioners and administrative staffs. For reuse of current medical institution and intent for recommendation, certainty property and factor of dentist and dental practitioners had high scores. Additionally, reliability and responsiveness properties were statistically significant. The analysis method used was developed by Giorgi, including all four steps. Results: The results of the interview were categorized into five central meanings: recognition and trust (including patient's trust, trust in the boss, recognition in the hospital, and intimacy), growth (growth of the hospital, growth in jobs, and problem-solving skills), professional pride (self-esteem, extension of work and changes of awareness, and being able to help others), reward (financial compensation and psychological rewards), and meaning of life given by work (the process of maturing, self-representation, and vitality of life). Conclusions: Based on this study, we need to develop tools to measure dental hygienists' level of job satisfaction as well as follow-up research on ways to improve it.
