  • In order to protect conductors from oscillations or vibrations due to winds, spacer dampers are installed on overhead transmission lines. Generally the spacer damper clamp can move slightly according to oscillation directions, namely in longitudinal, vertical & horizontal directions. This is for reducing fatigue phenomena of the conductor. But the high longitudinal- displacement of the clamp raises a doubt for its necessity. Then this paper carried out oscillation tests by using 4 bundle test lines, to know the relation between longitudinal displacement and oscillation. and suggests design necessity of the longitudinal articulation part for spacer damper clamps.

  • Viewing zone shape and size perform a key role in creating viewing comfort for the viewer. The horizontal and vertical sizes of viewing zones, formed by a full color transmission type holographic screen with a stereoscopic image projection are investigated. The screens have been recorded as holograms of a narrow stripe shaped object with different width; to extend the vertical size of the viewing zone the holograms were exposed two times with the hologram shifting between exposures. The viewing zone parameters were measured as a function of the stripe width of the object and of the exit pupil size of projection optics for several holographic screens having the size of the 30 $\times$ 40 $\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • For developing a beam shaping antenna, the circumference and the length of the vertical and horizontal elements of the Modified Transmission Line type Antenna(MTLA) are varied. The vertical radiation pattern of MTLA which has various shape was analyzed by the moment method in order to verify the beam tilt characteristics. From the analysis, it is confirmed that the condition of the maximum beam tilt is determined by the length of the vertical elements of the antenna. The antennal with the maximum beam tilt was designed and its input impedance and the radiation pattern was calculated theoretically and measured experimentally.

  • Route conditions, applied voltage and the condition of stringing conductors should be considered in determining standard types and skeleton diagrams of towers. In skeleton diagrams the necessary number of insulators and the air clearance have been decided by the results of studies on insulation coordination. Galloping, sleet-jumping, sag characteristics and the possibility of closeness of conductors should be considered according to the condition of stringing conductor and the span. After reviewing those factors, it is necessary to determine the minimum vertical and horizontal distance for the safety of transmission lines under any circumstances. Also it should be economical.

  • This paper investigates the characteristics of analytical models in prediction of sound transmission loss for the multi-layered panels with high density mineral wools. The results show that the sandwich model is more adequate to account for sound insulation performance of those panels than the poro-elastic model. In order to improve STC(Sound Transmission Class), the effect of fiber directions of mineral wools is examined, analytically and experimentally. From the comparison of the measurements with the predictions, it is evident that the vertical fiber directions of mineral wools enhance STC value up to 6 dB, compared to that of the horizontal fiber directions.

  • In this study, performance experiments were performed on the shape of steel dampers that affect the rocking behavior. Three types of strut shapes of SI type, SV type and SS type were considered as experimental variables. As a result of the experiment, the capacity to resist the moment and drift ratio according to the strut shape of the steel damper was evaluated as very close. Finally, it was evaluated that the SV type steel damper has stable deformation and energy dissipation capability. As a result of the evaluation of the proposed damper transmission force, it is considered that the damper transmission force is evaluated larger than the applied horizontal force, and it is necessary to supplement it.

  • The design of this antenna tower on the publication had been prepared by writer in order to compare with that of towers for power transmission line or to show the differences on designs existing on their design standards. The design of this antenna tower is also featuring on the following points; (1) the height of tower is 150meters high, (2) combined steel angles are adopted besides angles, (3) the direction of 45degree wind is taken account into design, (4) the additional stresses of horizontal members located in the bending points of main posts are contemplated though these additional stressess are not shown on stress diagram.

  • In this study electromagnetic wave fields under power lines arc derived by dipole antenna theory and electromagnetic fields under 3 phase power lines with horizontal and vertical configuration are formulated. The calculation results by those formulas were consistent with the results of reference. The formulas were applied to 345[kV] and 765[kV] transmission lines constructed in our country.

  • GaN films were grown on the vertical and horizontal reactors by the hydride vapour phase epitaxy (HVPE). The structural and optical characteristics of the GaN films were investigated depending on the reactor-type. GaN epilayers were characterized by double crystal X-ray diffraction (DC-XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and photoluminescence (PL). Surface defects of two kinds of the GaN films were revealed by the wet chemical etching method, using $H_3PO_4$ acid at $200^{\circ}C$ for 8 minutes. Hexagonal etch pits were analyzed by optical microscopy and SEM. Etch pit densities were calculated to be approximately $1.4{\times}10^7$ and $1.2{\times}10^6\;cm^{-2}$ for GaN layers grown on horizontal and vertical reactors, respectively. Those results show GaN grown in the vertical reactor having a better quality of optical properties and crystallinity than that in the horizontal reactor.
