  • Purpose: This study was conducted to assess the working conditions of home health nurses in hospital-based home health institutions nationwide. Methods: A secondary data analysis study was conducted based on the survey data on the working conditions of home health nurses, jointly conducted by the Korean Home Health Care Nurses Association and the Academic Society of Home Health Care Nurses in September 2020. Results: Of the home health nurses respondents, 82.4% worked in tertiary hospitals and general hospitals. Most of the working hours of home health nurses were 40 hours a week. Traffic accidents accounted for a significant proportion of accidents experienced by the home health nurse while performing their duties. Most of welfare and benefits systems applicable to home health institutions were in place. The time allocated to provision of home health nursing services was usually more than 30 minutes but less than 1 hour. The type of position of the individual in charge of home health care differed according to the type of medical institution. Conclusion: It is recommended that continuous investigation and analysis be conducted in order to establish a direction for improvement of home health nurses' working conditions, based on the related accumulated data.

  • Purpose: To estimate the number of deaths attributable to second hand smoking (SHS) in Morocco in 2012. Materials and Methods: prevalence based study focusing on mortality from ischaemic heart disease (IHD) and lung cancer among non-smokers aged 35 and over. Prevalence of SHS among never smokers was gathered from a national cross sectional survey on tobacco and population attributable risk (PAR) was calculated by applying PARs to mortality. The analyses were stratified by sex, age and area of exposure. Results: Rates for exposure to SHS among men aged 35-64 years ranged from 20.0% at home to 57.4% at work. Among non-smoking Moroccans aged 35 and over, 233 (IC: 147 - 246) deaths were attributable to exposure to SHS; 156 (IC: 100 - 221) in women and 77 (IC: 44 -125) in men. A total of 173 (122 - 222) deaths were estimated to have been caused by exposure only at home, 34 (9 - 76) by exposure only at the work place and 26 (15 - 58) by exposure both at home and work places. Exposure to SHS could be responsible for 182 (128 - 237) deaths from IHD and 51 (19 - 109) from lung cancer. Conclusions: These data confirm that SHS needs urgent attention in Morocco.

  • This study analyses factors facilitating work-family balance through quantitative research and case study. A sense of balance is more closely related to cognition and satisfaction in work and family than demographic factors. Based on these results, two kinds of educational programs for employees and employers were developed. Both programs consist of 4 sessions and focus on the necessity of work-family balance and the application of family-friendly policie.

  • In the background of the rapid development of the IoT, smart home work is becoming more and more important to each science and technology company. Smart home provides a safe, comfortable, high-quality, high-performance smart home living space compared to general homes, and at the same time It is responding to the low-carbon, eco-friendly global trend. Growth drivers driving the smart home market are increasing the number of Internet users, increasing disposable income in developing countries, increasing the importance of remote home monitoring, and increasing the need for energy saving and low carbon. In 2013-2014, Xiaomi launched a series of smart routers and smart home hardware devices. In 2015, it announced the latest product of the Xiaomi Ecological Chain, the "Smart Home Package," and in 2016 launched the MIJIA brand to invest in various smart product companies. • Studies on time-use have generally concentrated on the amount of time used by each member of a household in Korea. The quality of family relationships could be associated with the amount and types of interactions between family members. This study examined the time that adults spend with their family members on various activities. The purpose of this study is to explore a typology of family time and investigate the characteristics of each type. The data source was the 2009 Time-Use Survey conducted by the Korean National Statistics Office. The people involved in each activity were surveyed for the first time in the 2009 survey in Korea. The data from this study included 10,902 diaries that were filled on weekdays by married adults from ages 20 to 59 years. Data from rural households were excluded. Time use was divided into three categories: family meals, household work and family leisure time. These activities were analyzed using t-test, chi-square analysis and cluster analysis. Family time was classified into four types based on three categories. The four types were named "leisure sharing", "household work sharing", "overall sharing" and "non-sharing". The most common type was non-sharing. The characteristics of each type depended on gender and paid work time. Based on these results, family and labor policies should be developed to increase the work-life balance. Policies that focus on men over 40 years are especially recommended.

  • The result verification that determines correctness for the work results calculated in each PC is one of the most important issues in PC grid environments. In this literature, voting-based and trust-based schemes have been mainly used to guarantee the correctness of work results. However, these schemes suffer from both waste of resource utilization and high computation delay because they can not effectively cope with dynamic computational environments. To overcome these shortcomings, we introduce the distribution information of PC resources based on credibility and availability into result verification phase. Using this information, we propose a new result verification scheme, which can determine the correctness of work results by each PC resources' credibility and cope with the dynamic changing environments by each PC resources' availability. To demonstrate the efficiency of our result verification scheme, we evaluate the performance of our scheme from the viewpoints of turnaround time and resource utilization, utilizing resource distribution information in the Korea@Home that is a representative PC grid system in domestic. We also compare the performance of our scheme with that of other ones.

  • This paper explains a system that is suitable for detecting software error for multimedia distance education based on home network environment. This system consists of an ED, and ES. ED is an agent that detects an error by hooking techniques for multimedia distance education based on home network environment. ES is an agent that is an error sharing system for multimedia distance education based on home network environment. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is shared with participants engaged in a cooperative work.
