According to recent statistics, the number of family-owned small business have increased. And these growing numbers have created an urgent need for researchers and government to analyse and plan for this population. The purposes of this study were to identify the determining factors of the location of family owned small business and to analyze the factors related to their job satisfaction, and life satisfaction. The data used for this study, were 713 self-employed men and women which were elected from the panel data of 1998 MIPS of Daewoo Economic Research Institute. Statistics performed for the analysis were frequencies, percentiles, t-test, $\varkappa$$^2$, OLS and Logistic analysis. It was found that the person who work at home-base small office were the residents of smaller city, and are older than the office-going attendants. The variable which effects the job satisfaction of the home-based workers was the educational background. And sex was the only factor which affects the job satisfaction of the office-going attendants. It was also found that job satisfaction affects the life satisfaction significantly in both group.
Purpose: To identify the health condition, home care support, support requirement of poor and elderly people living alone. Method: Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and correlation. Survey involved 269 conveniently selected who have a social support in H city. Result: Perceived health condition of subjects was bad to moderate (mean score: 2.22). There were significant home care support differences according to gender, religion, education level and dwelling pattern. Support requirement was influences only by the dwelling pattern. Perceived health condition showed a positive correlation with home care support of friends and neighbors, and a negative correlation with support requirement (medical, material, economic emotional support). Conclusion: These findings are expected to make a positive contribution to create an ideal intervention for public visiting nurses and social workers to improve the quality of life in poor and elderly people who live alone.

The COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world has rendered a large proportion of the workforce unable to commute to work, to mitigate the spread of the virus. This has resulted in both employers and employees seeking alternative work arrangements. Due to the pandemic, most if not all workers experienced work from home Hence work from home has become a policy priority for most governments. Individuals have started to change their behavior to stick to the curfew and rapidly conform to the new way of life. This study is conducted to understand how organizations and people adjust to these developments and challenges. Numerous organizations are changing to the online method of working because of the COVID-19. Because of the continuous adoption of a specific behavior after the COVID-19 pandemic situation ended, employees were expected to continue working from home. To investigate deep into the behavioral consequences of such a pandemic situation, in-depth interviews were conducted in several companies in Saudi Arabia. This study was conducted by extending the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the theory of reasoned action (TRA) to explore and assess the various factors that determine the continuous adoption intention of work-from-home by the Saudis. The finding shows that the employees' positive attitude, subjective norms, and self-efficacy affect the employees' intention to adopt work from home. The continuous adoption of work from home has been affected by employees' relevant intention and controllability.
This study aims to identify factors of life satisfaction of the adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on the comparison between young and old. Data are collected through in-depth interview of the adults with developmental disabilities as well as via workers proxy responses at the group home. Regression model analysis is conducted based on 387 cases. The result shows that the young adults with developmental disabilities are more likely to satisfied with life when they evaluate job performance of workers at the group home and when they are more actively involved in community activities. For the old adults with developmental disabilities, life satisfaction is positively associated with their evaluation of job performance of workers at the group home as in the young adults. In addition, life satisfaction of the old adults is higher when they feel less fatigue. It is also higher for those with more choices on residence and higher level of social activities. The findings reveals that enhancement of life satisfaction for the old adults with developmental disabilities dwelling at group home require supports and services for health and social activities different from other ages. It shares the general ideas that service efforts should be made for needs and desires of the recipients. The present study suggests to expand our research interests to include the disabled in danger of early aging, such as the persons with Down Syndrome and the persons with intellectual disability and cerebral palsy, and look into their particular needs.
There is increasing evidence suggestion that passive smoking increases the risk of lung cancer and other disease, though the potential health effects of exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) is a controversial subject. Since smoking in restaurant is prevalent in Korea, the concern on passive smoking exposure of non-smoking service-workers has been requested. ETS exposure of non-smoking service-workers at restaurant was assessed because they hare spent their times in restaurant indoors. The purpose of this study was feasibility of nitrogen dioxide($NO_2$) as exposure marker of ETS. The results of the study were as follows; 1. Average $NO_2$ concentrations in indoor and outdoor t restaurants were 57.1ppb(${\pm}12.4$) and 54.29ppb(${\pm}9.54$), respectively. Comparing office-workers, service-workers at restaurants were exposured highly. 2. The personal $NO_2$ measurement as exposure marker of ETS could cause the exposure error because $NO_2$ can be generated by combustion appliances in indoor. 3. Service-workers spent their most time(86.6%) in indoor. Mean time spent at restaurant indoors and at home was 9.4 hours and 10.9 hours, respectively. 4. Personal $NO_2$ levels correlated with indoor $NO_2$ concentrations of restaurant (r=0.70) and of their home (r=0.52) rather than of outdoor $NO_2$ concentration of restaurant (r=0.35). The cause of personal $NO_2$ exposure of non-smoking service-workers were considered as smoking of guests and combustion appliance indoors. 5. personal $NO_2$ exposures were estimated using Monte-Carlo simulation and time-weighted model. Estimated personal $NO_2$ level was 47.25ppb(${\pm}8.3$).

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effects on musculoskeletal symptoms of both social demographic features and detailed characteristics of each task category of care workers who offer visiting home-help services. And to establish the measures that can reduce musculoskeletal symptoms among care workers. Methods: This study was conducted among 192 care workers from welfare centers C and K located in city P. After participants completed the task burden checklist regarding the scale of musculoskeletal symptoms and the details of their duties, the data collected were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: According to the degree of observable musculoskeletal symptoms in care workers, the highest figures were observed for back and shoulder pain. Based on the results of assessing the effect of detailed task category characteristics on musculoskeletal symptoms, "helping patients eat, helping patients move, helping patients bath, and changing body positions" were found to have an effect from the physical care category, "providing physical therapy assistance, treating bedsores" from the health care category, and "cleaning and doing laundry" from the facility management category. Conclusions: Due to the high proportion of patients requiring burdensome physical labor from care workers such as moving patients who have trouble doing so on their own, helping them change positions, and so on, it is highly likely that pain will occur in the low back, which carries most of the physical weight. So, education on human epidemiological positions that can reduce overload on areas prone to pain such as the low back and shoulders is essential. Proper equipment and personnel support must be provided for dangerous tasks. Further, multidimensional social support is required consistently.
This study puts an emphasis on the importance clothing and its reuse, dealing with the unmarried women workers who will be main domestic consumers. Questionnaire survey method was used in this research. The sample was taken from 546 unmarried women workers. The major findings are summarized as follows, it was found that Factor I was the cause of unplanned clothing management, Factor II was the cause of clothing modification and body type changes and Factors III was the cause of fashionmongering. Second, it was shown that as for experiences in hoarded clothing recycling disposition behavior subjective social strate had the high level, the group of sale and technical jobs / self-employed jobs had the higher level than the group of specialized skil / management jobs, the group in office-going and leaving clothing had the higher level than the group of people in separate uniform as working dress and the group of those experienced in environmental education had the high level.

As social distancing is implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there is an increasing number of workers participating in telework. This study aims to classify the feasibility of working at home for occupations and industries based on physical working conditions, and to analyze regional distribution of the teleworkable jobs. And the raw data of the Korea Working Conditions Survey is used to examine working environment and characteristics of jobs. The main findings show that 35% of jobs in South Korea can be done at home, and the occupations that are less amenable to work at home are closely related to the economically vulnerable workers who earn low wages. Furthermore, the regions that are heavily dependent on manufacturing for employment are likely to have a lower share of jobs that can be done at home due to the industrial structure and working conditions.
The purpose of this study were to identify the dietary practices of vulnerable older adults and to assess the foodservice and food provision service programs perceived by the health and welfare service providers in the community. A survey was conducted on health and welfare service providers working in outreach community centers and community health centers in Seoul. A total of 260 nurses and social workers participated in the survey and 224 responses were used for data analysis after excluding significant missing data. The respondents consisted of nurses (58.5%) and social workers (41.5%). In terms of the dietary life of the vulnerable older adults, they perceived that the food cost was burdensome to the older adults and poor dental conditions prohibited them from eating various foods. The health and welfare service providers rated highly for 'home-delivered meal and side dish services are effective for checking older adults' conditions' but rated low for availability of menu choices. In targeting vulnerable older adults for food and nutrition service programs, the home-delivered meal service was found to be suitable for older adults living alone, those over age of 80 years, those with mobility difficulties, and those with economic difficulties. The food provision service was appropriate for older adults living with their spouse or other family members. Vulnerable older adults are a heterogeneous population with diverse needs related to food and nutrition. Home-delivered meal/side dish service and food provision services will achieve their goals when they reach the correct targets with a customized service.
This study analyzes difference in consumers' and front-line workers' perceptions on 'consumer complaint behavior with hateful intentions' though the Co-orientation Model in three dimensions. In addition, we seek to contribute to reducing the conflict between consumers and front-line workers in the service contact point by finding factors that affect the difference in perception between two parties. This study findings and implications are as follows. First, Taking a look at the mutual orientation between consumers and front-line workers, mutual perceptions have been found to match in agreement but with a significant difference in perceived agreement (congruence), which indicates that the internal perceptions of both consumers and front-line workers do not match. The findings confirm that consumers and front-line workers have different perspectives on consumer complaint behavior with hateful intentions and therefore raise a need for efforts and institutional devices for improvement. Second, the study has found that consumers' economic responsibility as part of their social responsibilities and front-line workers' perceptions on consumers' civic responsibility affect the perception difference between these two groups and suggest a need for educating consumers about economic responsibility. Meanwhile, unlike consumers, front-line workers view consumers' complaint behavior with hateful intentions from an ethical point of view, raising a need for a transition of perspectives on complaint behavior with hateful intentions.
