  • KT 메가패스를 기반으로 하는 홈엔(HomeN) 미디어 서비스가 신규 서비스 추가 및 UI개선으로 새롭게 개발되었다. 홈엔의 신규 서비스중에 하나인 교육/문화 전문채널 서비스는 고객에게 TV기반의 EOD 온라인서비스를 제공함으로써 편리한 학습환경을 제공하고 홈네트워크 서비스의 활용도 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본고에서는 교육/문화 전문채널 서비스의 유형 및 서비스 정책, 서비스 플랫폼 구성을 소개하고 향후 홈엔 전문채널 서비스의 나아가야할 방향을 조망해보고자 한다.

A hand gesture recognition method for an intelligent smart home TV remote control system (스마트 홈에서의 TV 제어 시스템을 위한 손 제스처 인식 방법)

  • This paper presents a intuitive, simple and easy smart home TV remote control system using the hand gesture recognition. Hand candidate regions are detected by cascading policy of the part of human anatomy on the disparity map image, Exact hand region is extracted by the graph-cuts algorithm using the skin color information. Hand postures are represented by shape features which are extracted by a simple shape extraction method. We use the forward spotting accumulative HMMs for a smart home TV remote control system. Experimental results show that the proposed system has a good recognition rate of 97.33 % for TV remote control in real-time.

Television Shopping at Home to Alleviate Loneliness Among Older Consumers

  • Despite widespread awareness of the importance of a middle-aging and older consumer market, it is surprising that very little research has been conducted on their in-home shopping behavior. Therefore, this study focused on middle-aging and older female television home shoppers and examined the effects of persuasive mentions of the show host and parasocial interaction on social involvement, perceived loneliness, mood, perceived risk and unplanned buying tendency. A total of 109 middleaged and older female television shoppers responded. Results of path analysis revealed that persuasive mentions did not influence parasocial interaction. However, as middle-aging and older consumers more para-socially interacted with the host, they were likely to use television shopping for alleviating loneliness. Practical and theoretical implications were discussed.

Comparison of Consumers' Satisfactions between Intemet Shopping and TV Home Shopping (인터넷쇼핑과 TV홈쇼핑 소비자의 구매만족도 비교분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the consumers' satisfactions between those who prefer internet shopping and those who prefer CATV home shopping. This study examined both on-purchase satisfactions and post-purchase satisfactions. For on-purchase satisfactions, this study investigated informational satisfactions, convenience satisfactions, and price satisfactions, and for the post-purchase satisfactions, it examined overall satisfactions, delivery-related, and exchange or refund related satisfactions. The data(n=376) were obtained from a questionnaire. The data included 185 consumers of internet shopping, and 182 consumers of TV home shopping, and were analyzed by t-tests or chi-square test to compare those consumers' characteristics and satisfactions. The findings of this study are as follows: First, men aged 20s and those who had higher education, higher incomes were more likely to prefer internet shopping. Second, those who like TV home shopping were likely to search just one channel and to use less than 30 minutes to decide to purchase. Third, generally, those who prefer internet shopping showed higher scores of on-purchase satisfactions, and overall post-purchase satisfactions. However, TV home shopping consumers had higher scores of delivery-related satisfactions.

  • 디지털 홈 시대의 도약으로 가정용 TV의 기능과 그 역할이 확대되면서 Digital TV(DTV)가 새로운 가전기기의 하나로 등장하게 되었다. DTV를 통한 디지털 데이터 방송뿐 아니라 웹 컨텐츠의 다양한 활용이 가능하게 되면서 기존의 PC 환경과는 다른 DTV 환경에 적합한 새로운 컨텐츠 표현 규격이 필요해졌다. 이에 다수의 디지털 데이터 방송 표준 단체들이 DTV를 위한 디지털 데이터 방송용 컨텐츠 표현 규격을 제시하고 있고, DTV가 등장하기 이전부터 TV와 웹의 접목 기술을 위한 W3C의 활동도 있어왔다. 또한 양방향 TV 서비스 또는 웹 TV 서비스를 제공하는 방법으로 자체적인 컨텐츠 표현 규격을 정의하고 브라우저 등의 프로그램을 통해서 시청자들에게 TV에 특화된 다양한 웹 컨텐츠를 제공하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 현재까지 제시되어 온 DTV 또는 TV환경을 위한 컨텐츠 표현 규격들을 다양한 관점에서 비교 검토해보고자 한다. 또한 DTV가 가지는 특징들을 살펴봄으로써 TV와 다르고 또한 PC와도 다른 DTV만의 특성을 반영할 수 있는 컨텐츠 표현 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통해서 DTV 시장 활성화의 선두 위치에 있는 국내에서 DTV 용 컨텐츠의 표현 규격에 대한 보완 및 발전 방향을 숙고하고, 세계적으로도 앞서가는 인터넷 서비스 시장이 DTV를 통해서 안방에서 보다 효율적이고 간편한 방법으로 다양한 계층의 사용자에게로 확대될 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 한다.

A study Addictive Buying on Fashion item in TV Home-Shopping; Focused on Materialism, Show host, Credit card (패션제품 TV 홈쇼핑 중독에 관한 연구: 물질주의, 쇼호스트, 신용카드를 중심으로)

  • The purpose sof this study was to examine consumer's addictive buying through the TV home shopping, focused on materialism, show host and credit card use consumer. Two hundred four female consumers who had purchased fashion items in TV home shopping had participated for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, and multiple regression were used for the study with SPSS 12.0 program. The result were as follows. First, the addictive buying group was 13.2% among respondents while non-addictive buying group was 86.8%. Second, materialism was classified into 3 factors: happiness, success and possessiveness. Show host was classified into 3 factors such as visual presentation, image and communication skill. Credit card was classified into 3 factors: sales promotion, late payment and method payment. Results of multiple regression revealed that happiness and possessiveness from materialism, credit card late payment, and show host communication skill were significantly related to addictive buying. Based on these results, this study would provide fashion marketing strategies for reasonable and reasonable consuming culture, since addictive buying has been not only individual problem but also social problem. A Home-Stream Station for Recording and Transmitting of The Digital Broadcasting (디지털 방송의 저장 및 송출을 위한 홈 스트림 스테이션 개발)

  • Digital broadcasting areas are leading information technology and having been strengthen the competitiveness of industries. In this paper, we developed HSS(Home Stream Station) for recording and transmitting digital broadcasting on digital TV without additional devices, which is based on cable TV network at home. The HSS can record a broadcasting program selected by user while digital TV shows the other channel. User can watch the program stored on the HSS at any time and any digital TV in the home. LAN interface of the HSS was also developed for supplying high quality digital broadcasting-contents through home network using IP-STB(Set Top Box).

Profiling American Television Home Shoppers (미국 소비자의 텔레비젼 홈쇼핑 행동에 관한 연구)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 첫째, 계속 확대되어가고 있는 미국 TV 홈쇼퍼에 대한 인구통계학적인 특성과 그들의 구매행동을 조사하여 TV 홈쇼핑에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고 쇼핑이용자의 만족도를 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 둘째, TV shopping channel 에의 많은 노출은 TV 홈쇼핑의 유통 특성상 강박구매를 야기 시킬 경향이 높은 데 과연 TV shopping channel 노출과 강박구매와 관련이 있는 지, 그리고 TV 홈쇼퍼중 어느 정도의 강박구매자가 존재하는 지 조사하는 데 있다. 미국 전지역 51주에 걸쳐 회수된 설문지 결과, 일반적 마케팅 타겟에서 소외시되온 소비자집단, 예를 들면, 중년이나 노인 여성들, 몸이 비대한 여성들, 장애인등과 같은 다양한 집단들이 TV 홈쇼핑을 그들의 주요 쇼핑형태로 이용하였고, 특히, 대다수의 TV 홈쇼퍼들은 의류를 구매한 경험이 있었다. 또한, TV shopping media에 노출이 강박구매행동과 유의한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 특히 이 연구의 TV 홈쇼퍼중 일반인에 비해 약 2배가량의 강박구매자가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이 연구 결과를 토대로 사회지향적 마케팅전략이 논의되어진다.

Impulsive Buying Types Related to Cable TV Home-Shopping Usage Characteristics in Apparel Product Buying (의류제품 구매 시 케이블 TV 홈쇼핑 이용특성에 따른 충동구매유형에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined what differences were shown in the types of impulsive buying according to consumers' viewing circumstance, previous purchasing experience, and demographic factors on CATV home-shopping. For this study, data were obtained from adult women in twenties to fifties who have frequently viewed CATV home-shopping. The questionnaire was composed of three sections; characteristics of home-shopping usage, behaviors of impulsive buying and demographic factors. Data from 403 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. The results of this study were as following. First, four factors of impulsive buying types were identified. Second, differences in impulsive buying according to viewing circumstance of TV home-shopping were significant. New products were easily accepted by consumers who were reminded of previous needs with more viewing time and frequent viewing chances. Also, differences in impulsive buying according to the reason of viewing were meaningful only for the 'reminder impulsive buying. Third, consumers with more previous purchase experiences had higher reminder impulsive buying on home-shopping. Fourth, there were significant differences in age and marital status according to impulsive buying. The biggest difference was shown in the 'planned impulsive buying' corresponding to age and in the 'reminder impulsive buying' to marital status.

  • This study was researched by practical method in a subjectivity study accessible in-depth, in sloughing off old habit of functional quantity analysis about product-selectivity on role of Home-shopping TV MD. The perception pattern come out in this study were divided into four types in Q-methodology. The result is as follows ; it is that divided '1[(N=9) : No-relationship Type], 2[(N=3) : Experience-oriented Type], 3[(N=5) : Ability-focus Type], 4[(N=1) : Drive-importance Type]'. Like this, it found that is very different type all over. In conclusion, this study is to ascertain acceptance behavior about Reception Type on product-selectivity on role of Home-shopping TV MD ; to offer a developmental suggestion about it.
