용접잔류응력을 고려한 상수도 강관의 피로특성 평가 (Fatigue Characteristic Evaluation in Water Pipe Welds Considering of Welding Residual Stress)

  • In case of large steel water pipe, it have been observed that its fracture mostly occurs due to the complicated outside fatigue load on the pipe in the underground. It is also well known that its damage and leakage happen mainly in a weld zone. In this study we evaluated the fatigue characteristics based on size effect and residual stress by comparing the test results on the standard specimen collected from real pipe with those on full scale pipe.

레이저 유도 열화학 습식에칭을 이용한 티타늄 미세구조물 제조 (Laser-induced Thermochemical Wet Etching of Titanium for Fabrication of Microstructures)

  • Laser-induced thermochemical wet etching of titanium in phosphoric acid has been investigated to examine the feasibility of this method fur fabrication of microstructures. Cutting, drilling, and milling of titanium foil were carried out while examining the influence of process parameters on etch width, etch depth, and edge straightness. Laser power, scanning speed of workpiece, and etchant concentration were chosen as major process parameters influencing on temperature distribution and reaction rate. Etch width increased almost linearly with laser power showing little dependence on scanning speed while etch depth showed wide variation with both laser power and scanning speed. A well-defined etch profile with good surface quality was obtained at high concentration condition. Fabrication of a hole, micro cantilever beam, and rectangular slot with dimension of tess than 100${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ has been demonstrated.

고성능저가형 지중열교환기 개발연구 (Development of High Peformance Geothermal heatexchanger)

  • Geothermal heat exchanger(GHEX) is a major component of Geothermal heat pump system(GSHPs). In Common, We use the vertical type GHEX in Korea. But vertical type GHEX needs a high cost for installation, because of drilling the hole which has 200m depth at max. So, We suggest the use of horizontal type GHEX. When we construct buildins, We excavate the ground and we can install the horizontal type GHEX at the excavated underground. It's very cheap and convenient method compare to vertical type GHEX installation. This study is peformed to estimate the peformance of horizontal type GHEX and to analyze effects of heat exchanger types and undergroundwater. As the result, slinky type GHEX has a 66% efficiency compare to vertical type GHEX and mat type has a 201% efficiency at the undergroundwater zone.

  • The vertical roller mill is the important machine grinding and mixing various crude materials in the manufacturing process of portland cement. Table liner is one of grinding elements of vertical roller mill and is subjected to the cyclic bending stress by rollers load and the centrifugal force by rotation of table. It demands $4{\times}10^7$ cycle but has $4{\times}10^6{\sim}8{\times}10^6$ cycle. It fractures at the edge of grinding path of outside roller. The repair expense for it amounts to 30% of total maintenance of vertical roller mill. Therefore, this study shows the fracture mechanism of table liner for vertical roller mill using HDM and fatigue analysis

  • A compact gun drill machine was developed to improve productivity and economical efficiency for small and medium enterprise tool makers. Gun drilling works are mainly using at molding, automobile, aircraft industry and special tool makers to make deep holes. As gun drill machines are very expensive and big burden for small tool makers, so that works used to execute through outside orders but it was required lot of cost too. Most of gun drill machines are providing for high volume and large capacity enterprises. In order to use for small and medium enterprises that compact gun drill machine was designed and developed. It could be improved product quality, productivity and manufacturing cost for small and medium enterprises by using this machine.

가압식 브레이싱 보강에 의한 지중박스구조물의 내진성능향상 방법 (Anti-seismic Capacity Improvement of Underground Box Structures Strengthened with Pressure Bracing)

  • This paper presents a new strengthening method of underground box structures against seismic loads for anti-seismic capacity improvement. A threaded steel member with pressure devices(so called 'I-bracing pressure system') is used to improve seismic capacity of the RC box structure. The I-bracing pressure system is fixed the corner of opening after chemical anchor was installed by drilling hole on the box structure. The structural performance was evaluated analytically. Two bracing types of strengthening methods were used; conventional bracing method and improved I-bracing pressure system. For the performance evaluation, seismic analyses were performed on moment and shear resisting structures with and without I-bracing pressure system. Numerical results confirmed that the proposed I-bracing pressure system can enhance the seismic capacity of the underground RC box structures.

  • In this study, we aims to develop the machining technology for the ultra precision surface and profile accuracy. For this purpose, we construct the electrolytic in process grinding system (ELID grinding) and apply to the cylindrical and internal grinding. Through the various machining experiments such as SCM steel., ceramics, tungsten carbide etc., we have obtained nanometer surface roughness. And we have applied this mirror grinding technique to hydraulic manual valve and mold core of mini disk optical pick-up base. For the development of fine mechanical part machining technology, e have made multi fiber optical connector using fine grinding technology. And constructed micro drilling system with process monitoring system which is possible to drill 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ diameter hole.

  • The finite element analysis by the computer program SYSWELD in consideration of phase transformation was carried out to simulate the multi-pass welding process of SA106 Gr. C which is used for the main steam pipe in nuclear power plant. All the numerical results such as temperatures, the size of heat affected zone and the residual stresses were compared to the experimental results.

  • For efficient deburring of burrs that form inside mechanical parts after drilling, new special deburring tool was developed specifically for the burr found at intersecting holes. In this paper, the process for finding ideal cutting conditions has been carried out to identify the efficient performance of deburring using a new tool. The burrs at the entrance and exit surface were analyzed for efficient removal. The surface roughness after deburring was also reviewed for better performance. In addition, the influence of the feed rate on deburring quality was analyzed for improved productivity. Through this process, a new deburring tool can be applied effectively to remove burrs formed at intersecting holes.

  • One of the major characteristics that affects the life of welded steel water pipes is the stress distribution caused by welding and external forces. Some studios have bean carried out on the residual stress of steel water pipes. But the results on the stress distributions by welding and complex external forces are rare, because real water pipes operate under the ground and many kinds of external forces act simultaneously on the joints. To understand the complex stress distributions of welded joints, therefore predictions by numerical or analytic methods are required. In this study, temperature and stress distributions in steel water pipes produced by welding are predicted by a three-dimensional finite element method(FEM). Based on these results, stress distributions by welding and complex external forces are evaluated by adopting the same numerical method. The influence of some post weld heat treatments on residual stress distributions is also investigated.
