  • We report the electrical properties of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) depending on the crystal structure of hole injection layer of copper(II)-phthalocyanine(CuPc) and the light irradiation the carrier mobility of copper(II)-phthalocyanine(CuPc) of light source. OLEDs were constructed with indium tin oxide(ITO)/CuPc/triphenyl-diamin(TPD)/tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum(Alq$_3$)/Al.Photocurrent multiplication of OLEDs was varied by the heat-treatment condition of CuPc thin film and the light irradiation.

  • Organic semiconductors have received tremendous attention for their research because of their tunable electrical and optical properties that can be achieved by changing their molecular structure. However, organic materials are inherently unstable in the presence of oxygen and moisture. Therefore, it is necessary to develop moisture and air stable semiconducting materials that can replace conventional organic semiconductors. In this study, we developed a NiOx thin film through a solution process. The electrical characteristics of the NiOx thin film, depending on the thermal annealing temperature and UV-ozone treatment, were determined by applying them to the hole injection layer of an organic light-emitting diode. A high annealing temperature of 500 ℃ and UV-ozone treatment enhanced the conductivity of the NiOx thin films. The optimized NiOx exhibited beneficial hole injection properties comparable those of 1,4,5,8,9,11-hexaazatriphenylene hexacarbonitrile (HAT-CN), a conventional organic hole injection layer. As a result, both devices exhibited similar power efficiencies and the comparable electroluminescent spectra. We believe that NiOx could be a potential solution which can provide robustness to conventional organic semiconductors.

  • The analysis of hole injection efficiency at the p+/n-drift layer junction in non-punchthrough IGBT structure is presented. This analysis takes into account carrier concentration variations by conductivity modulation. Good agreement between this analysis and simulation is found over a wide range of carrier lifetime and current density. The proposed analytical model of the hole injection efficiency as a function of collector width, collector concentration has been verified by device simulator, ATLAS.

  • Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are regarded as the next generation display and solid-state lighting due to their superb achievements from extensive research efforts on improving the efficiency and stability of OLEDs in addition to developing new materials. Herein, efficient green phosphorescent OLEDs were obtained by using hexaazatrinaphthylene (HAT) derivatives as a hole injection layer. External quantum and current efficiencies of OLEDs were enhanced from 8.8% and 30.8 cd/A to 13.6% and 47.7 cd/A, respectively by inserting a thin layer of HAT derivatives between the ITO and hole transporting layer. The enhancement of OLEDs was found to be originated from the inserted HAT derivatives, which resulted in the optimized hole-electron balance inside the emission layer.

  • Injection molding is a flexible production technique for the manufacturing of polymer products, but introduces residual stresses. Residual stresses in a structural material or component are those stresses which exist in the object without other external loads. The layer removal and hole drilling method are used for the measurement of residual stress in injection molded polystyrene part. The hole drilling method is potentially more flexible for determining residual stress in complex geometries and can be used as an adoptable technique for the measurement of residual stress in polymeric materials. Results obtained by experiments agree with each other.

  • Recently, displays play an important role in quickly delivering a lot of information. Research is underway to reproduce various colors close to natural colors. In particular, research is being conducted on the light emitting structure of displays as a method of expressing accurate and rich colors. Due to the advancement of technology and the miniaturization of devices, the need for small but high visibility displays with high efficiency in energy consumption continues to increase. Efforts are being made in various ways to improve OLED efficiency, such as improving carrier injection, structuring devices that can efficiently recombine electrons and holes in a numerical balance, and developing materials with high luminous efficiency. In this study, the electrical and optical properties of the seven-layer stacked structure rear-light emitting blue OLED device were analyzed. 4,4'-Bis(carazol-9-yl)biphenyl:Ir(difppy)2(pic), a blue light emitting material that is easy to manufacture and can be highly efficient and brightened, was used. OLED device manufacturing was performed via the in-situ method in a high vacuum state of 5×10-8 Torr or less using a Sunicel Plus 200 system. The experiment was conducted with a seven-layer structure in which an electron or hole blocking layer (EBL or HBL) was added to a five-layer structure in which an electron or hole injection layer (EIL or HIL) or an electron or hole transport layer (ETL or HTL) was added. Analysis of the electrical and optical properties showed that the device that prevented color diffusion by inserting an EBL layer and a HBL layer showed excellent color purity. The results of this study are expected to greatly contribute to the R&D foundation and practical use of blue OLED display devices.

  • In order to investigate the emission characteristics of the phosphorescent white organic light-emitting diodes (PHWOLEDs) according to various hole transport layers (HTLs), PHWOLEDs composed of HTLs whose structure are NPB/TCTA, NPB/mCP and NPB/TCTA/mCP, two emissive layers (EMLs) which emit two-wavelengths of light (blue and red), and electron transport layer were fabricated. The applied voltage, power efficiency, and external quantum efficiency at a current density of $1 mA/cm^2$ for the fabricated PHWOLEDs were 7.5 V, 11.5 lm/W, and 15%, in case of NPB/mCP, 5 V, 14.8 lm/W, and 13.7%, in case of NPB/TCTA, and 5.5 V, 14.6 lm/W, and 15%, in case of NPB/TCTA/mCP in the hole transport layer, respectively. High emission efficiency can be obtained when the amount of hole injection from anode is balanced out by the amount of electron injection from the cathode to EML by using NPB/TCTA/mCP structured HTL.

  • The OLED research is gone for two directions. One is material development research, and another one is structural improvement part. All two are thing to heighten luminescence efficiency of OLED. n other to improve luminescence efficiency of OLED Electron - hole pairs must consist much more in the device Their profiles are sensitive to mobility velocity of electrons and holes. In this paper, we demonstrate the difference of velocity between hole and electron by experiments, and compare with a data of simulation and experiment changing hole carrier transport layer thickness, so we get the optimal we improve luminescence efficiency. We suggest improving the efficiency of OLEDS would be to balance the injection of electrons and holes into light emission layer of the device. And, we improve understanding of the various luminescence efficiency through experiments and numerical analysis of luminescence efficiency in variable hole carrier transport layer's thickness.
