블랙흘 쌍성계의 비대칭 광도 곡선과 DOPPLER BEANING 효과 (ASYMMETRIC LIGHT CURVES OF BLACK HOLE BINARIES AND THE DOPPLER BEAMING EFFECT)

  • 블랙홀 쌍성계는 10 $M_{\odot}$ 정도의 블랙홀과 K또는 분광형을 갖는 만기형 항성의 쌍성계로 10여 개가 보고되어 있다. 블랙홀의 동반성은 Roche lobe를 태우기 때문에, 궤도 위상에 따라서 이들의 밝기가 달라져서, 타원체형 광도 곡선을 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이들 쌍성계의 광도 곡선에서 최대 밝기 위상에서 수퍼센트 정도의 비대칭성이 보고되었으며, 이 현상은 흔히 항성 흑점 모형 또는 hot impact point모형을 사용하여 설명되고 있다 이 논문에서는 블랙홀 쌍성계의 공전 속도가 대략 400 km $s^{-1}$일 때에 Doppler 효과에 의 한 흑체의 온도 차이는 $DeltaT/T$ ~ 1/400에 이르며, 이에 의한 광도의 차이가 관측된 비대칭성에 충분히 크게 영향을 줄 수 있음을 지적한다. 따라서, 광도 곡선의 해석에서 특수 상대론적 효과가 고려될 때에, 단순히 계산된 항성 흑점 혹은 hot impact point의 온도와 규모에 중대한 수정이 필요할 것으로 예상된다.

직접분사식 가솔린 기관에서 흡입유동이 고압 11공 연료분사기의 분무형상에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Intake Flow on the Spray Structure of a High Pressure 11-Hole Fuel Injector in a DISI Engine)

  • The effect of the intake flow on the spray structure of a high pressure 11-hole fuel injector were examined in a single cylinder optical direct injection spark ignition (DISI) engine. The effects of injection timing and in-cylinder charge motion were investigated using the 2-dimensional Mie scattering technique. It was confirmed that in the homogeneous charge mode, the in-cylinder swirl charge motion played a major role in the fuel spray distribution during the induction stroke rather than the tumble flow. But, in the stratified charge mode, the effect of the in-cylinder charge was not so large that the injected spray pattern was nearly maintained and the increase of in-cylinder pressure by the upward moving piston reduced the fuel spray penetration.

구조용 강의 굽힘 피로강도에 미치는 Notch의 영향 (The Effect of Notch on Bending Fatigue Strength of Structural Steel)

  • This experimental work was carried out to investigate the fatigue bending strength on various shapes and sizes of notches of the domestically manufactured steel plate. The notch types tested were a circular hole, U-and V-notches. The S-N diagram for different notch shapes were discussed in relation to plan bending strength and stress concentration factor of notches .The results of the experiments are summarized as follows : (1) The difference between stress concentration factor and notch factor was greater as the radium of notch root became smaller, and these values approached to an identical value as the radium of notch root increased. (2) It was shown that the plane bending fatigue limit of bar without notch for the hotrolled steel having the tensile strength of 33.1kg/$mm^2$was 17.0kg/$mm^2$. (3) U-and V-notch had a greater effect of stress concentration factor on the endurance limit, but O-hole showed the same effect only for $\o\pm2mm$. (4) For the same radius of notch root, U-notch showed a lower value of fatigue limit compared to V-notch and O-hole.

공내 매질이 구조물의 발파이격거리에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of the Stemming Hole medium to the Blasting Separation Distance of Structure)

  • 최근에 도시화와 산업화 및 교통망의 지속적인 확보로 인하여 발파공사를 시행하는 공사장이 증가하고 있다. 발파공사는 주변 주민들의 주거환경과 인접시설물들의 안전에 큰 영향을 미치므로 이에 대한 대책이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 발파피해를 줄이기 위한 방법 중에서 발파공내의 발파메커니즘을 규명하고 개선하였다. 일반적인 공법에서 발생하는 천공경과 폭약경 사이의 차이로 인한 공간에서 디커플링효과를 규명하고, 이 공간의 매질을 변화시킴으로서 발파 시 진동발생의 규모를 규명하였다. 발파시험은 도로, 철도, 산업단지에서 실시하고, 발파진동을 측정하였다. 측정된 진동속도를 회귀분석하여 발파진동추정식을 산정하고 이를 이용하여 이격거리를 산정하였다. 공내 매질이 공기보다는 물처럼 비중이 큰 경우에 충격력은 크나 폭발 지연시간이 짧아 진동전달거리가 작아 이격거리를 크게 확보할 수 있다.

EFFECTS OF INTERFACE CRACKS EMANATING FROM A CIRCULAR HOLE ON STRESS INTENSITY FACTORS IN BONDED DISSIMILAR MATERIALS

  • Bonded dissimilar materials are being increasingly used in automobiles, aircraft, rolling stocks, electronic devices and engineering structures. Bonded dissimilar materials have several material advantages over homogeneous materials such as high strength, high reliability, light weight and vibration reduction. Due to their increased use it is necessary to understand how these materials behave under stress conditions. One important area is the analysis of the stress intensity factors for interface cracks emanating from circular holes in bonded dissimilar materials. In this study, the bonded scarf joint is selected for analysis using a model which has comprehensive mixed-mode components. The stress intensity factors were determined by using the boundary element method (BEM) on the interface cracks. Variations of scarf angles and crack lengths emanating from a centered circular hole and an edged semicircular hole in the Al/Epoxy bonded scarf joints of dissimilar materials are computed. From these results, the stress intensity factor calculations are verified. In addition, the relationship between scarf angle variation and the effect by crack length and holes are discussed.

  • Adherend-adhesive interface failure will occur on a macroscale when surface preparation or material quality are poor. It is well known that the stress singularity occurs at the edges of interface between the adhernds and the adhesive, and that crack will initiate from these positions. Also if bubbles are created and remained in the adhesive layer during the bonding process, the stress concentrates around these hole defects. In this paper, the effects of the hole defects on the SIF of interface crack were examined. From results, SIF increased with the hole defects near the interface crack and increased with an decreae in the upper adherend thickness, an increase in the center adhesive thickness.

직교이방성 적층판의 Hole단부의 3D 비선형 층간응력 해석 (3D Non-linear Analysis of Interlaminar Stress around the Hole Edge of Orthotropic Laminates)

  • Orthotropic laminates, such as [$0^{\circ}6$/$90^{\circ}6$]s and [$90^{\circ}6$/$0^{\circ}6$]s, were performed, using a commercial nonlinear finite element method. Interlaminar stress distributions, around the hole curve free-edge, were calculated. The delamination bearing strengths of pin joints were predicted, using the modified delamination failure criterion. These stress distributions were presented along the radial lines and around the free-edge of the hole. Further, three-dimensional non-linear contact analysis of orthotropic laminates was conducted to investigate the effect of friction. In this paper, laminates with a circular hole were taken to study interlaminar stresses the curved edge. This study may assist in the design of a thick composite laminate with mechanically pin joints.

構造的 不連續에 기인하는 圓筒構造物의 應力集中現象에 관한 有限要素法에 의한 硏究 (A Study on Stress Concentration Phenomena in Cylindrical Structures due to Stractural Incontinuty by Finite Element Method)

  • The stress concentration phenomena due to the structural incontinuty are studied by finite element method. In this study, a circular cylinder is treated. Under the axial load, the membrance action is dominate and the 24 D.O.F. cylindrical membrane finite element is used. The assembly of this element can successfully represent the original structure geometrically. The internal displacement function is such organized that the inter element compatibility condition is fully satisfied. In this study, the stress concentration factors due to the presence of a hole on the cylinder wall are obtained, and the factors versus the location of the hole is computed and plotted. It is found that the hole effect on the stress concentration disappears beyond the neighboring region of the hole size form the edge of the hole. Those results are useful for practical design in determining the region where the re-inforcing is necessary.

Dispersion and Nonlinear Properties of Elliptical Air Hole Photonic Crystal Fiber

  • The effect of eccentricity on dispersion and nonlinear properties of a photonic crystal fiber having elliptical air holes is investigated using a fully vectorial effective index method. It is found that the effective refractive index increases with increase of eccentricity. The dependence of dispersion and nonlinear properties of the PCF on the eccentricity of the air hole is investigated. It is revealed that eccentricity of the air hole affects the zero dispersion wavelength. Further, the nonlinear properties such as mode field area, nonlinear coefficient and self phase modulation of the Photonic crystal fibers are analyzed. The mode field area increases and the nonlinear coefficient decreases with increase in eccentricity. The variation of the self phase modulation with elliptical air hole is also discussed.

정공수송층이 역구조 OLED의 전기 및 광학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hole Transport Layer on the Electrical and Optical Characteristics of Inverted Organic Light-Emitting Diodes)

  • We have developed inverted green phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) using 1,1-bis[(di-4-tolylamino)phenyl]cyclohexane (TAPC) and bis(carbazole-9-yl)biphenyl (CBP) hole transport layers. The driving voltage, current efficiency, power efficiency, and emission characteristics of devices were investigated. While the driving voltage for the same current density was about 1~2 V lower in the devices with the TAPC layer, the maximum luminance was higher in the device with the CBP layer. The maximum current efficiency and power efficiency were 3.2 and 2.7 times higher in the device with the CBP layer, respectively. The higher efficiency in the CBP device resulted from the enhanced hole-electron balance although weak parasitic recombination takes place in the CBP hole transport layer.
