Theoretical Studies on 2-Hexylthieno[3,2-b]thiophene End-Capped Oligomers for Organic Semiconductor Materials

  • The reorganization energy and the spectroscopic properties of 2,6-bis(5'-hexyl-thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2'- yl)naphthalene (DH-TNT) and 2,6-bis(5'-hexyl-thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2'-yl)anthracene (DH-TAT), which are composed of an acene unit and alkylated thienothiophene on both sides, as organic materials for display devices were calculated and the results were compared with experimental values. The lower reorganization energy of the DH-TAT over the DH-TNT calculated by the density functional theory is attributed to a smaller vibrational distortion because of the heavier building block of DH-TAT, and it shows a good field effect performance over the DH-TNT. The calculated spectra and the other spectroscopic characteristic of the compounds are well consistent with those of observed results.

  • In this study, we have investigated the light-emitting property of the EL device with the thickness ratio of the HTL/ETL, which was 500$\AA$:500$\AA$, 400$\AA$:600$\AA$, 600$\AA$:400$\AA$. The ALq$_3$ was used for the ETL. We have studied the relation of voltage, contrase, efficiency for current density. Emission was observed above 10mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and luminance was measured to be 1030cd/$m^2$ at a current density of 100mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in 500$\AA$/500$\AA$ sample. A luminance of over 2500cd/$m^2$ was also observed after the final fabrication process in 500$\AA$/500$\AA$ sample

Electron Redistribution of Clavalanate on Binding to a $\beta$-Lactamase

  • A class A ${\beta}$-lactamase from Staphylococcus aureus PC1 complexed with 3R,5R-clavulanate is studied. The starting geometry for the computation is the crystal structure of the ${\beta}$-lactamase. Docking of the clavulanate to the enzyme is done exploiting the requirements of electrostatic and shape complementarity between the enzyme and clavulanate. This structure is then hydrated by water molecules and refined by energy minimization and short molecular dynamics simulation. In the energy refined structure of this complex, the carboxyl group of the clavulanate is hydrogen bonded to Lys-234, and the the carbonyl carbon atom of the clavulanate is adjacent to the $O_{\gamma}$ of Ser-70. It is found that a crystallographic water molecule initially located at the oxyanion hole, which is formed by the two -NH group of Ser-70 and Gln-237, is replaced by the carbonyl oxygen atom of the 3R,5R-clavulanate after docking and energy reginement. The crystallographic water molecules are proved to be important in ligand binding. Glu-166 residue is found to be repulsive to the binding of clavulanate, which is in agreement with experimental observation. Arg-244 residue is found to be important to the binding of clavulanate as well as to interaction with C2 side chain of the clavulanate. The electron density redistribution of the clavulanate on binding to the ${\beta}$-lactamase in studied by an ab initio quantum-mechanical calculation. A significant redistribution of electron density of the clavulanate is induced by the enzyme, toward the enzyme, toward the transition state of the enzymatic reaction.

집광에 의한 GaAs/AlGaAs태양전지의 출력 증대 연구 (A Study on the Output Power Enhancement of GaAs/AlGaAs Solar Cell using Concentration Method)

  • Using MBE growth method, GaAs/AlGaAs solar cell structure was grown. Deposited electrodes are Au/Ni/Ge for n-type and Au/Pt/Ti for p-type electrodes were deposited by E-beam evaporator. Indoor light concentrators were devised and fabricated in order to concentrate artificial solar rays. Also mirror and prism and Fresnel lens concentration system with solar simulator were devised and fabricated. Results of solar cell characteristics were measured with shutting system which can control the amount of light. Maximum power density was 2.13 W/$cm^2$ and maximum concentration was 124 sun, when mirror with Fresnel lens was used at $7854\;mm^2$ of shutter hole.

The emission spectrum from isolated black holes

  • There could be significant numbers of isolated stellar mass black holes in our Galaxy. The detection of these black holes will provide important clues on the origin of supermassive black holes. Interstellar gas will be accreted to these isolated black holes in nearly spherical flow. The gas and the interstellar magnetic field will be compressed and emit bremsstrahlung and magnetic bremsstrahlung. We calculate the density, temperature, magnetic field of the accretion flow onto a 10 solar mass black hole as well as its radiative emission; special attention is given to cyclotron radiation and synchrotron radiation, which covers from microwave to X-ray. We consider the possibility to detect these radiation from isolated Galactic black holes with current instruments and surveys.

Photo-Induced Memory of an OLED in the presence of thio-Michler's ketone

  • Photo-induced memory effect of an organic light-emitting diode(OLED) composed of a hydrazone-derivative(DBAH) dispersed in bis-phenol-A type polycarbonate polymer(PCA) in the presence of thio-Michler's ketone, was investigated by the measuring of the current density and luminance at the various conditions. After the light exposure, the current of the OLED was decreased approximately one order, and the luminance of the OLED also decresed. This memory effct was erasable by heating the OLED to the temperature higher than the glass transition temperature(Tg). As shown in this result, we found the memory effect was erased by heating and returned to its original state in the hole injecting layer(HIL) of the OLED. A series of these phenomena was suggested the possibility of the application to the imaging plate.

이산화탄소를 이용한 가스터빈 블레이드 막냉각 특성 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Film-Cooling Characteristics of Gas Turbine Blade using CO2)

  • In order to cool the turbine blade under high temperature operating conditions, the film-cooling method is generally applied. In this study, $CO_2$ was used as working fluid and it helped the operating system to prevent the loss of compressed air. The trapezoidal diffuser shape was adopted at the cross section of hole and the characteristics of heat flow with various working fluids were numerically studied. In particular, the different mixture ratios of $CO_2$, such as various density ratios of 0.2, 0.8, and 1.0, respectively, were considered. Numerical results are graphically depicted with various conditions.

전주가공을 이용한 로터리스크린의 후막제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Manufacturing of Thick Film for Rotary Screen using Electroforming)

  • Electroforming is a kind of metal molding technology. After gilding on the possession object(conductivity, nonconductivity) separate it with possession object and produce a part or duplicate. This process has an excellent ability of duplicating detailed figure. To simplify the manufacturing process of a rotary screen, this study was adopted electroforming technology and produced silicon rubber mandrel. Furthermore, to indicate the optimal condition for the acquisition of high-qualified rotary screen product, the experiment was executed with pH, time, sulfamate nickel solution according to density which were the main factors to decide the condition, then compared it with the product made by original "S" company in Holland. As a result, the figure of hole was more obvious and correct. Also the open size increased by more than 2-3%.

  • In this study, We have investigated degradation effects of blue organic electroluminescence devices that was consisted of TPD(N,N'-dyphenyl-N-N\`-bis(3-methyphenyl) as hole transport layer and Butyl-PBD (2- (4-Biphenylyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole)-as emission layer and electron transport layer. We have studied characteristics of brightness and current density about blue OEL that was degradated layer. Two kinds of samples that were fabricated each continuous and non-continuous method was used.
