GPS/PCS Dual Polarization Compact Microstrip patch Antenna (GPS/PCS 이중편파 소형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나)

  • In this paper, a integrated structure of a two-element microstrip patch antenna with two feeds for GPS/PCS dual-band operation is proposed. The radiating element for PCS operation is a novel broad band low-profile cylindrical monopole top-loaded with a shorted meander patch, which gives linearly polarized conical radiation pattern and size reduction of patch due to meander line. The radiating element for GPS operation is a novel square-ring microstrip patch with truncated corners and slits. which provide circularly polarized broadside radiation patterns and size reduction due to slots. using dielectric substrate in GPS antenna of proposed antenna provide to improve isolation between two feeds and reduce size of patch. The proposed antenna achieves the bandwidth and polarization requirements of GPS and PCS systems.

  • In this paper, the single patch microstrip antenna and gap coupled broadband microstrip patch antenna using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain method) are analyzed. Mur's 2nd absorbing boundary condition to minimize reflected wave is applied. Return loss, voltage standing wave ratio, and input impedance by the length and width of driving patch, the length and width of parasitic patch, and the distance between driving patch and parasitic patch have been analyzed. Design parameters and radiation patterns of broadband antenna have been also shown.

Clinical Analysis on Primary Repair of Tetralogy of Fallot Under 10kg of Body Weight (10 kg 이하의 활로4징증 환자에서 완전교정술에 관한 임상적 고찰)

  • The surgical management of symptomatic tetralogy of Fallot in infants is debatable. From November 1986 to August 1990, 21 infants under 10 kg of the body weight with tetralogy of Fallot underwent primary repair. Mean body weight was 8.6$\pm$1.40kg. All the patient were clubbing and there were cyanotic except for 1 patient. Transannular patch was laid down in 8 patients. Right ventricular outflow patch was used with Goretex but pericardial patch was utilized in 3 patients at the initial period of operation. Incidence of the complications following total correction of tetralogy of Fallot was more frequent in the patients placed with transannular patch compared to the patients with right ventricular outflow tract patch. Two deaths occurred in the 21 patients, Hospital mortality was 9.4%, but there were no operative deaths in the patients who transannular patch was laid down. Causes of deaths were low cardiac output.

  • In this paper, a slotted trapezoidal microstrip fractal patch antenna is designed and fabricated for the vehicle GPS antenna. We designed air substrate patch antenna to obtain gain improvement by the elimination of dielectric loss. By applying fractal structure with crossed slot to trapezoidal patch, we obtained 42.5 % as much patch size as conventional triangular patch antenna. Measured bandwidth was 200 MHz on GPS band under VSWR 2:1 And gain was 4.31 dBi at resonant frequency that is 2$\sim$5 dB higher gain than conventional ceramic patch antenna on GPS band.

  • In this paper, we introduced the dual-band and multi-band slot loaded patch antenna for multi services. This antenna has the characteristic of dual-band and multi-band antenna by 4 slots nearly located in the edges of a patch. By changing the number and location of probe, the width and length of slot, and the distance between slot and the edge of patch, we studied the performance of dual-band and multi-band characteristic.

  • We designed and manufactured micros trip patch antenna mainly used in the Rectenna and then analysed RF-DC conversion efficiency of wireless power transmission system. We analyse conversion efficiency of load, direction of linear and dual polization rectenna. We found that the maximum efficiency would be about 70% of load and direction in patch type. In conclusion, we found that total conversion efficiency is 64%$\sim$71% in patch Rectenna.

Similarity-Based Patch Packing Method for Efficient Plenoptic Video Coding in TMIV

  • As immersive video contents have started to emerge in the commercial market, research on it is required. For this, efficient coding methods for immersive video are being studied in the MPEG-I Visual workgroup, and they released Test Model for Immersive Video (TMIV). In current TMIV, the patches are packed into atlas in order of patch size. However, this simple patch packing method can reduce the coding efficiency in terms of 2D encoder. In this paper, we propose patch packing method which pack the patches into atlases by using the similarity of each patch for improving coding efficiency of 3DoF+ video. Experimental result shows that there is a 0.3% BD-rate savings on average over the anchor of TMIV.

  • An experimental investigation of the effect of composite patching repair was conducted to characterize the fatigue crack growth behavior in thick A16061-T6 (6mm) panels with single bonded patch by fiber reinforced composite patch. Four patch lengths and no patch plate were examined. An analytical procedure, involving three-dimensional finite element method having three layers to model cracked aluminum plate, epoxy by adhesive and composite Patch, is calculated the stress intensity factors. From the calculated stress intensity factors, the fatigue crack growth rates are obtained. At the single patching type, different fatigue crack growth ratios through the palate thickness were investigated by using the experimental and analytical results. The results demonstrated that there was a definite variation in fatigue life depending on the size of composite patch. While crack reached the patch end, retardation of crack growth was also revealed in the bonded repair.
