The neck is the human body is closely con-nected with the life and properties of keeping warm as one of the opening part in clothes. In ancient times it was put on necklace for the protection of neck and in Rome it was worn muffler called focale for the protection of neck throat. in addition cravat directly originated in necktie today was primarily worn for the protection of soldier's neck and has been turned into decorative purpose until today. As the ornament is developed to vari-ous kinds of form the neck decoration is changed and grown again and again. Therefore this thesis studies history of the neckwear and various the symbolic factor. The first factor is the social. The neckwear shows the social position class and status and does social mutual interaction as conversation starters. The second factor is the mental It express individuality fondness attitude and is felt to be indignity by being forced to be worn. The third factor is the political. it shows political tendency by indicating the royal sign or part's sign in necktie like the French royal-ist's green muffler The forth factor is the man's sexual. I expresses wearing stock being brave symbol-izing independence. The sixth factor is the traditional. It is worn with appearing traditionand custom and one of cultural movements. The seventh factor is the ideological. It symbolizes the freedom of suffragettes and emancipation of woman. The social factor is the most extensive among them. The neckwear is various in the way of expression like its kinds and is generalized, It functions as a independent part of clothes.

Korea Ancient Gagye in Clothing history has the following meanings with ceremonial, social, and aesthetic aspects, related to symbolism of its formality and procedures, flexibility about social aspects, and clothing beauty. First, Gagye must be worn in formal ceremonies with its clothes. Different Gagye in different time and place means the symbolism of its formality and ceremonies. Gagye played a big role as a means to carry out national ceremonies In diplomatic relationship with China. Second, Korea Ancient Gagye had been worn in every class irrespective of social status. Because it could be worn reflecting personal preferences even in old communities. Additionally Gagye had flexibility to reflect the historical aspects and improved various Gagye types reflecting Buddhism and practical science. So Gagye becomes significant sharing the common value with Korea Clothing culture. Third, Korea Ancient Gagye developed aesthetic spirit concerning beauty of Clothing. In the Age of the Three States, Clothing and Gagye types kept balanced and made good harmony. Gagye had gotten little exaggerated and expanded and become changed into loaded hair type.

Objectives: To introduce the effect of traditional Korean medicine (TKM) treatment with Injinoryeong-san on alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC).Methods: A 37-year-old man with a history of alcohol ingestion for the past five years was diagnosed with ALC based upon his clinical symptoms, sonogram results, and laboratory studies. The patient received TKM treatment with acupuncture, moxibustion, and Injinoryeong-san in parallel to Western medicine for two weeks. The clinical assessment was monitored based upon changes in the Child-Pugh score and ultrasonography, body weight, and abdominal circumference for measuring the amount of ascites.Results: The patient’s clinical symptoms improved with decreases in abdominal circumference and body weight. Ultrasound revealed a regression of the amount of ascites in the abdominal cavity. Laboratory results also improved significantly, and the Child-Pugh score increased from class B to A.Conclusions: This case report showed a significant improvement of ALC with relatively simple treatment for only a short period and therefore supported the potential of TKM treatment in ALC.

While astronomers are working hard to detect the earliest galaxies and to follow their evolution to redshift z~0, they remain baffled by the present-day dichotomy between disky, star forming (aka late-type) galaxies and quiescent, spheroidal (aka early-type) galaxies. The key is to find galaxies in transition from one class to the other, whose spectra indicate intense recent star formation that has now ended. We have identified thousands of such "post-starburst galaxies" and discovered that they are often the products of late-type galaxy-galaxy mergers. Their current kinematics, stellar populations, and morphologies are consistent with late- to early-type galaxy evolution. I will discuss recent work that suggests new connections between this violent history and the central supermassive black hole. In particular, the molecular gas reservoir of a post-starburst galaxy declines rapidly after the starburst ends and in a manner consistent with feedback from an active nucleus. Furthermore, a star is ~300x more likely to be tidally disrupted by the nucleus of a post-starburst galaxy than in other galaxies. Like the well-known black hole-bulge mass correlation, these surprising links between the properties of a galaxy on kpc scales and its supermassive black hole on pc scales require explanation.

This paper proposes an extension of the Improved Forced Based Design procedure to 3D steel structures. The Improved Forced Based Design (IFBD) procedure consists of a more rational sequence of the design checks proposed in Eurocode 8 and involves a more realistic selection of the behaviour factor instead of selecting an empirical value based on the ductility class and lateral resisting system adopted. The design procedure was tested on a group of four 3D steel structures, composed by moment-resisting frames with three storeys height and the same plan configuration in all storeys. The plan configuration was defined in order to target lateral restrained or unrestrained systems as well as plan regular or irregular structures. The same group of structures was also designed according to the force-based process prescribed in Eurocode 8. The member sizes obtained through the two approaches were compared and the seismic performance was assessed through nonlinear static and time-history analyses. The limit states referred to structural and non-structural damage, considering the two levels design approach, which are the serviceability and the ultimate limit states, were examined. The results obtained reveal that the IFBD leads to more economical structures that still comply with the performance requirements prescribed in Eurocode 8.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the adap-tation of traditional beauty of dress in Baek Eui for the establishment of tradition of dress culture. Especially, the color of the traditional dress rep-resent a symbol which is connedted with the na-tional character and the evvironment. But it is hard to examine closely because color preference are transformend with the times. This study is framed within the limits of the next themes : the origin, history and meaning of the Baek Eui ; the philosophical theory of cosmic Five Elements and the Prohibition of Baek Eui ; the beauty of Baek Eui. As the national character is indicative of the conservativeness and the purity, Koreans have kept up wearing Baek Eui spite of the occasional prohibition. Since the color of the dress represen-tatived the signs of the social class and the power, over the eighty persent of the common people put on the Beak Eui : ramie and flax fabrics that has it's own color in Chosun-Dynasty. I think that the use of natural color harmony is prominent and the beauty of Baek Eui is the naturality and the non-artificiality. The meaning of the symbol on the Korean Beak Eui is the divinity, the holiness, the purity, the cleanliness, the modesty, the frugality, the integ-rity, the constancy, the elegance, the simplicity.

The history of the gifted education in mathematics is short. And the governmental policies and school practices for gifted education were more focused on gifted education in science. But the gifted education in mathematics will become an important part of gifted education. A situation of the education center for the gifted in science is developing favorably more and more because students and parents have a correct understanding of the education center for the gifted in science. The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the mathematics curriculum, the contents of education at mathematics class and the actual conditions of operation by the education center for the gifted in science attached to 23 universities in Korea. And we suggested several ideas to improve the problems for gifted education in mathematics.

Plants have developed a sophisticated battery of defence responses to protect themselves against attempted pathogen ingress. Manipulation of these defence mechanisms may provide significant opportunities for crop improvement. While plant resistance genes have had a long service history in plant breeding, they possess significant limitations. Recent advances are now providing significant insights into strategies designed to increase the field durability of this class of genes. Hypersensitive cell death is a common feature underlying the deployment of plant defence responses against biographic pathogens. In contrast, necrotrophic pathogens actively kill plant cells. Recently, transgenic plants have been developed that either promote or suppress cell death, providing resistance against either biotrophic or necrotrophic pathogens respectively. Methyl-jasmonate is a key signalling molecule in the establishment of resistance against some fungal pathogens. Increasing the concentration of this molecule in plant cells has been shown to increase resistance against Botrytis cineria, without significantly imparting plant growth or development. Due to the multifarious infection strategies employed by plant pathogens, how-ever, it is unlikely a single commercial product will prove a panacea for global disease control. Future stategies will more likely entail an integrated disease management approach.

The purpose of this study was to develope the water environmental education program using animation and to examine the learning effect of the animation based learning program(ALP) on elementary school students. The program consisted of raising a question in everyday life, history and water, the present condition of water resources, the future of water and mankind, and a view and a measure of water. Following development, it was applied to 127 fifth grade students in Busan. With dividing them into two groups: the controlled group and the experimental one, lessons were executed respectively. After experiencing each class, the experimental groups showed higher recognition on importance of water, water pollution, and insufficiency of water and their attitude toward water was improved affirmatively than the controlled group.
