Modern wind turbines have been mainly erected in region where earthquake are rare or normally weak, especially Korea was thought as safety zone from earthquake. But recently, the earthquake occurs more and more frequently. So, the wind turbine design is required the structural and functional stability under the earthquake. The earthquake can influence normal operation, even if a weak earthquake. There are two ways to review the design under earthquake using Computer Applied Engineering (CAE). One is the Response Spectrum Analysis (RSA) the other is Time History Analysis (THA). In this research, dynamic response on time is obtained under the earthquake by taking into account ground accelerogram consistent with the relevant standards applied to the turbine foundation.

The meanings of colors vary with time and space. For the most important events in a person's life, such as wedding or funeral, people use color to symbolize their identities or roles. Traditionally, the colors of dress had indicated the wearer's age, class, or marital status in Korea. However, Korea's exposure to western cultures has affected in many dimensions of its modern history. Especially, influenced by social change, the traditional dress has undergone many modifications in forms, silhouettes, materials, and color. However, women's mourning dress has been maintained as a long lasting tradition and the use of white in mourning dress has been regarded as a norm until recently, while men have worn a regular black suit with a black tie. But, the shift from white to black in mourning dress has been observed in recent mourning practices. To examine this change of color in Korean traditional mourning dress, a historical approach utilizing multiple resources, such as interview, observations of events, documents, and archival records was applied.

The first part of this thesis discusses the Pearson's Curve Family which gives $\beta$distribution, $\Gamma$-distribution, $X^2$-distribution and t-distribution. The second part of this thesis gives some brief process of calculations for normal distribution density and t-distribution density by the 7-th type Curve of Pearson's Curve Family. Finally, a conclusion arrives that Student(Gosset) could not find out his famous 'Student's t-distribution' without his attending of 'Pearson's Differential Equation' class taught by Pearson himself when he was a senior student. However, if he had got a professorship at the Pearson Statistics Laboratory, the University of London, then he could not have found 'Student's t-distribution' for small sampling technique of modern statistics.

The problem of separation between the teaching and the practice of architectural design in Korean universities has activated this study. Comparison between two professor-architects in Italy through their various activities has been made during the period of 1991-1992 in the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia. The names of the two professor-architects are Aldo Rossi and Franco Mancuso. Their teaching activities in their architectural design class with their assistants, their background and formation of architectural theory, and two realized (and prized) works of them have been compared. The results show that there is a great difference (or oppositions) in their world-view and their attitudes towards architecture, the one as an empiricist, the other as a rationalist. But the most impressive observation must be the fact that all of them were coherent in their teaching, theory and practice, although this raises another qustion about the 'rationality' in architecture.

When teaching the linear regression analysis in the class, the power transformation must be introduced to fit the linear regression model for nonlinear data. Box and Cox (1964) proposed the attractive power transformation technique which is so called Box-Cox transformation. In this paper, an effective algorithm selecting an appropriate value for Box-Cox transformation is developed which is considered to find a value minimizing error sum of squares. When the proposed algorithm is used to find a value for transformation, the number of iterations needs to be considered. Thus, the number of iterations is examined through simulation study. Since SAS is one of most widely used packages and does not provide the procedure that performs iterative Box-Cox transformation, a SAS program automatically choosing the value for transformation is developed. Hence, the students could learn how the Box-Cox transformation works, moreover, researchers can use this for analysis of data.

In Sanyue, the identity of the state and the individual is discussed in terms of the class, ideology, system, moral ethics, tactical strategy, national view, Talent image, etc. and It pursues a historical approach in the world history and an attempt to self-realize in the history of mankind. This literature expresses the strength of military theory and discusses the main core points of the country as a military political and tactical strategy as follows: "Shangyue, zhongyue, and Xiayue. In the Shangyue in Sanyue, it describes how to distinguish the heroes who have been appointed through the ceremony, and it shows the accomplishment of the reason. In reviewing our costume history, it is noted that costume bas been used as a yard stick for symboliying various social status. During the Lee Dynasty in which confucianism was the predominant religion, costume color, design and its fabric varied distinctly according to class, sex, age, occasion, et al. As in other field of our culture, costume was influenced by the Chinese culture. Although gilding was derived from the Chinese-originated gold-spun fabrics, no credit and praise should be spared for our ancestors of the Lee Dynasty who developed gilding artistry as our own. The use of gilded costume was confined to the formal court wear rather than casual wear even in court and to the nobles than to the commoners. Even among the nobles, gilding designs variously classified were used to distinguish the class. However, the modernization triggered by fores-Japan Annexation Treaty destroyed the traditional cable systems, thereby the limited use of gilding has yielded to the vast demand on the part of general populace.

Simultaneous triple valve replacements were performed in two patients on January and April 1980 at Seoul National University Hospital. The first case was 17 years old male patient with a history of exertional dyspnea for 7 years. He was in class III by the NYHA functional classification and diagnosed as aortic insufficiency, mitral steno-insufficiency and tricuspid insufficiency. The second case was 46 years old male patient suffered from exertional dyspnea for 5 years, He was in class IV and diagnosed as aortic stenoinsufficiency, mitral stenoinsufficiency and tricuspid insufficiency. Triple valve replacements were performed under the deep hypothermia and pharmacologic cardiac arrest with aortic cross clamping for 80 minutes to 159 minutes. Total extracorporeal circulation time were 197 and 176 minutes respectively. The postoperative courses were uneventful.
