The objects of this thesis are to examine the ways of applying the postmodern theory into the contemporary de-signing based on the korean culture and history. As the results of this study Ⅰfound the expressions of the postmodern design has much value to communicate because of the importance of the aesthetics. One of the most important postmodern design concepts, the historical allusion is also accepted as an aspects of new "ism" after modernism. In applying the historical motives the problem is that we must understand the meaning of ways of life and culture included the external ornaments. Finally if we consider not only the hardware aspacts but also the software aspects - society, history, region and culture - we can make our postmodern design lan-guages.

The purposes of this study were to explore what components of science communication and its level are contained in text panels of exhibitions in natural history museums and to propose its development direction of exhibition education in Korea. First, to find out the component and level of science communication contained in exhibition panels, the researcher team developed the analyzing tool which was called SEPAT (Science Exhibition Panel Analyzing Tool), then employed them to profile the component and level of science communication. Second, the researchers introduced the exemplary designed media of exhibitions to demonstrate how much science communication could be enhanced. The results were made as follows. First, the components of science communication was considerably weighted toward to 'concept' one. There were also a few 'awareness' and 'engagement', both of which were under 5% in each zone of exhibition and there was not 'NOSI' or 'opinion' embedded in the analyzed exhibitions. Second, the various type of designing exhibitions were found to promote or enhance the restrictedly represented components of science communication. It is suggestable for exhibitions to be designed through various type of 'media' to enhance science communication. Visitors are required to experience rich science communication to meet their educational needs, and exhibition developers in natural history museums and other museums are recommended to be professional in containing all components of science communication through various type of designing exhibitions.

The importance of corporate culture for its development has always been a classic research. Through excellent corporate culture, we can analyze the secrets of company success and provide important reference significance for other company brands. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has greatly increased its international recognition with its excellent efficacy, which has brought development opportunities to the TCM industry. The object of this research is the Beijing Tongrentang Group Co., Ltd. Tongrentang is a representative of Chinese time-honored brands in TCM industry. It has a development history of more than 350 years. It carries the traditional Chinese culture and Chinese medicine culture. The corporate culture of Tongrentang was thus extended and developed into 'Benevolence & love', 'Honesty & trustworthiness' and 'Quality first'. We can see that a good corporate culture is particularly important. This paper studies the unique Corporate culture of Tongrentang, and the reasons of company success. Hoping to help the company through this paper, so as to improve the company in the future. And put forward a certain practical significance and value.

The concept of health has existed through the history of mankind; the recognition and adaptation of such concept has transformed over time with the development of culture throughout the age of humans. These concept wasn't absent in the content East Asian Medicines, which is represented by Huangdi's Internal Classic. However, due to imperialism and colonial polocies in the past, biomedical concepts of health has been accepted with force. The concept of "health" in pathological medicines of biomedicine refers to the of anatomical and biological completeness of the body system. In East Asia, Korean especially, a number of concepts regarding these subjects has been informed by Japanese physicians, such as Hukujawa Yukichi. Understanding the idea of body in the angle of philosophy, history, and medicine in the cultural area of East Asia is necessary.

In this study, 2,238 incidents from History of the Three States, Prehistory of the Three States, History of Koryo, True Records of Chosun Dynasty had been analyzed in order to examine the bathing styles of Koreans. The results were as follows. In the period of Three States, baths were taken for the purposes of cleanness, remedy, and beauty culture as well as etiquettes. And spa, rainwater, rivers, streams, and bath tubs were used. In the period of Koryo, it included not only reasons for etiquettes as in the period of the Three States but also reasons for medical care and daily life. In spa, temples, and homes, baths were taken by using perfumes and towels. In Chosun Dynasty, daily baths were for hygiene, health, and bodily charms. Before religious ceremonies, they made sure that they took baths, and spa baths were popular for the medical care. The ways to take baths included the order which area was the first to be washed, time, and areas concretely, and seasons, weather, and conditions of body were considered before taking baths. Moreover, the places included natural places such as streams, reservoirs, rivers, as well as artificial places such as temples, places for envoys, and palaces. Especially, in spa areas, bathing buildings were constructed. Considering all these, baths were taken for the purposes of ceremonies and medical care in the period of the Three States, and daily baths took down their roots in the period of Koryo. In the period of Chosun Dynasty, spa baths for cures, prays and rituals, hygiene and bodily charms were considered as a reason. How to take baths and means were decided carefully. Therefore, the results above demonstrated that baths took down their roots in people's daily life in Korea since the period of Koryo.

This study concerns the role of costume in Shakespeare\`s history plays from the viewpoint of the role theory. The term “role” has been used to represent the behavior expected of the occupant of a given position or status. A specific role can not be successfully performed without the aid of the costumes. Costumes are adopted in relation with a specific role. The term ‘role’ had been borrowed from the drama. The similarity between the role on the stage and the role of the social man had been recognized. The similarity between the role on the stage and the role of the social man had been recognized. The typical examples in which the costume help to make access to a specific role and can be effectively exploited for the performance of the role are manifested in the history plays of Shakespeare. Thus, our goal in this study is to analyze the role of costume which appears in Shakespeare\`s history plays from the viewpoint of the role theory. The role of social status and position reflects sex, age, occupation, class, economic position of the characters. In his works, the crown and the mace represented not only the throne but also a previllege and supreme position. The situation role of costume could be widely used for visualizing the psychological situation and external environments of the characters on the stage. The disguise role hided one\`s status, thereby makes possible acting other\`s position. The costume also could symbolize the social status, position, rank, occupation, and the situation, and functioned as a media fo delivering messages to others. The costume performed the role of the physical and psychic protection, and provided its wearer with consolation and peaceful mind. The costume reflected the custom of a society through its wearing configuration. The costume (or a uniform) adopted by a group notified the characteristics and the expectation of action of the group to others. The results obtained from this study can provide useful cues for understanding the role action in the social structure. This kind of understanding reveals the costume phenomena in real life, allows one to perform roles properly and efficiently, and opens our insight on the overall aspects of the costume culture.

Tolerance education must be based on the fact that tolerance like democracy cannot be achieved once and for all. Students must learn to constantly watch political and cultural processes for negative developments. Tolerance for others' values and behaviour can be learnt by studying previous historiographical views. The basic attitude to be learnt is repect for other cultures - within one's own culture as well as foreign cultures.

Trigonometric ratios are difficult concepts to teach and learn in middle school. One of the reasons is that the mathematical terms (sine, cosine, tangent) don't convey the idea literally. This paper deals with the understanding of a concept from the learner's standpoint, and searches the orientation of teaching that make students to have full understanding of trigonometric ratios. Such full understanding contains at least five constructs as follows: skill-algorithm, property-proof, use-application, representation-metaphor, history-culture understanding [Usiskin, Z. (2012). Despite multi-aspects of understanding, especially, the history-culture aspect is not yet a part of the mathematics class on the trigonometric ratios. In this respect this study investigated the effect of history approach on students' understanding when the history approach focused on the mathematical terms is used to teach the concept of trigonometric ratios in Grade 9 mathematics class. As results, the experimental group obtained help in more full understanding on the trigonometric ratios through such teaching than the control group. This implies that the historical derivation of mathematical terms as well as the context of mathematical concepts should be dealt in the math class for the more full understanding of some mathematical concepts.

In Woman Watches over the World, Linda Hogan explores the broken identity of herself and her family, the issue of the poverty and the identity crisis, the alcoholism, prevalent in the Native American community and their silenced history. Previous studies have claimed that her memoir contributes to the restoration of Native American identity and history by accusing the violence of white culture, and seeks to recognize a dialogue between native culture and white mainstream culture as well. However they seem to overlook the complicated relations among story, identity, body and nature, to which Hogan as a multi-binded storyteller resorts as a way to break the silence of herself and her tribe for healing. Her own story, as a way to break the silence, becomes the formative drive to reveal the silenced history of her own tribe to lead the young generation to the future. She also understands the formative function of the story, which becomes the vehicle for embodying and connecting themselves to nature. To her, healing lies in the restoration of sympathetic relationship with nature. History, as a type of story, can be made up or mistold just like a story. There may be a blind spot where one can not assess what is true. In spite of the vision of the parallel worlds of the two cultures she presents, there seems to be no immediate solution to the discrimination against the Native American, poverty, identity crisis, and environmental problems which the Native American community faces. However, it can be said that her memoir serves as a rudder by presenting a direction to not only the Native American but also to readers in other cultures in its quest for practical possibilities for the future.
