At present, the low-voltage, high-current type power supply is mainly used for effective sterilization in the ballast water treatment system. Research on PSFB converters without output capacitors has been ongoing. Such converters effectively treat ballast water without a separate disinfectant through electric pulses by applying a pulse-type power to the output electrode without an output capacitor. However, in the case of the pulse-type electrolysis treatment method, voltage overshoot can occur due to abrupt voltage fluctuations when the load changes, resulting in circuit reliability problems because of the output capacitorless system. Therefore, a new voltage control algorithm is required. In this paper, we will discuss voltage control for pulsed electrolysis topology without an output capacitor. The proposed voltage control method has been verified using Simulation and experiment. The usefulness of the proposed control method has been proven by the experimental results.
A Slowing Down Time Spectrometer (SDTS) system is a highly efficient technique for isotopic nuclear material content analysis. SDTS technology has been used to analyze spent nuclear fuel and the pyro-processing of spent fuel. SDTS requires an external neutron source to induce the isotopic fissile fission. A high intensity neutron source is required to ensure a high for a good fissile fission. The electron linear accelerator system was selected to generate proper source neutrons efficiently. As a first step, the electron generator of an 80-keV electron gun was manufactured. In order to produce the high beam power from electron linear accelerator, a proper beam current is required form the electron generator. In this study, the beam current was measured by evaluating the performance of the electron generator. The beam current was determined by five parameters: high voltage at the electron gun, cathode voltage, pulse width, pulse amplitude, and bias voltage at the grid. From the experimental results under optimal conditions, the high voltage was determined to be 80 kV, the pulse width was 500 ns, and the cathode voltage was from 4.2 V to 4.6 V. The beam current was measured as 1.9 A at maximum. These results satisfy the beam current required for the operation of an electron linear accelerator.
This paper examines the destruction behavior of NPN BJT (bipolar junction transistor) by repetition pulse. The injected pulse has a rise time of 1 ns and the maximum peak voltage of 2 kV. Pulse was injected into the base of transistor. Transistor was destroyed, current flows even when the base power is turned off. Cause the destruction of the transistor is damaged by heat. Breakdown voltage of the transistor is 975 V at single pulse, and repetition pulse is 525~575 V. Pulse repetition rate increases, the DT (destruction threshold) is reduced. Pulse Repetition rate is high, level of transistor destruction is more serious.

Since pulse energization can improve the performance of Electrostatic Precipitator(ESP) for high resistivity dusts, high voltage micro-pulse generators, 70kV 140usec duration pulses for instance, are commonly developed by LC resonance for most pulse powered ESPs. Consisting of discharge electrodes and collecting electrodes, ESP has its own capacitance like a capacitor. ESP's capacitance affects the LC resonance phenomenon with resonance inductor and capacitor of micro-pulse power supply, engineers should acquire the value of their ESP to design for proper power supply design. In this study, we describe the ESP's capacitance measuring device which has the same topology with our new developed micro-pulse power supply. In this microcontroller based capacitance measuring equipment, ESP's capacitance can be calculated easily through ...
The recent advancements in power electronic switching devices have enabled high frequency switching operation and have improved the performance of pulse-width modulated (PWM) inverters for driving induction motors. But, the insulation failures of stator winding have attracted much concern due to high dv/dt of IGBT PWM inverter. In this paper, the test results for evaluation on the stator winding insulation of low-voltage induction motors for IGBT PWM inverter applications are presented. The insulation characteristics are analyzed with partial discharge and dissipation factor tests. Also, insulation breakdown tests by switching pulse voltage are performed. An effective insulation technique to enhance the insulation strength is suggested from the test results.
This paper presents a novel circuit topology of a high efficiency single-phase power conditioner. This power conditioner is composed of time-sharing sinewave absolute pulse width modulated boost chopper with a bypass diode in the first power processing stage and time-sharing sinewave pulse width modulated full-bridge inverter in the second power processing stage operated by time-sharing dual mode pulse pattern control scheme. The unique operating principle of the two power processing stage with time-sharing dual mode sinewave modulation scheme is described with a design example. This paper proposes also a sinewave tracking voltage controlled soft switching PWM boost chopper with a passive auxiliary edge-resonant snubber. The new conceptual operating principle of this novel power conditioner related to new energy utilization system is presented and discussed through the experimental results.
The power source of inverter welder stable power of low voltage and high current. Because if shouldn't be, it is caused to spark between the parent metal and the peak. So that, we designed to be base on high frequency transformer and reactor of DC part. Then, we optimized control of PWM, current rising slant, voltage, current, pulse current and inverter out-put voltage. Also we designed PCB for EMI and noises.
Recently the problem of the fouling organisms, especially Sn-compounds is expanded to environmental problems from the chemical reaction with imposex and secondary contamination. One of the existing antifouling system, antifouling paints, is regulated from 2012, July because of seriousness about toxic substances such as TBT, mercury, copper and so on. TBT is known that causes a variety of biological inhibition in various chemicals even a very small amount of concentration. So it has been developed to replace it. In this paper, we try to develope a new system with the environmental background and the research of the adhesion characteristics of fouling organisms using a low current, high frequency high voltage pulse power, not toxic compounds.
The application of a pulsed power system is being extended to a environmental and industrial fields. The non-dissolution waste water pollutants from industrial plants can be processed by applying high voltage pulses with a fast rising time (a few nanoseconds) and short duration (nano to microseconds) in a pulsed corona discharge reactor. The nano-pulse generator with a magnetic switch has been developed. Its corona current in load can be adjusted by pulse width and repetition rate. we investigated the performance of the nano-pulse generator using the dummy load which is composed of resistor and capacitor equivalent to the actual reactor. This paper descibes the electrical characteristics of the nano-pulse generator that produces a 300 ns pulse at maximum repetition rate of 400 pps with a voltage of 40 kV across a $640{\Omega}$ load. In this paper we briefly discuss a configuration of system and test results.
