Servo-motors are used as key components of automated system by performing precise motion control as accurate positioning and accurate speed regulation in response to the commands from computers and sensors. Especially, the linear brushless servo-motors have numerous advantages over the rotary servo motors which have connection with the friction induced transfer mechanism such as ball screws, timing belts, rack/pinion. This paper proposes an estimation method of unknown motor system parameters using the informations from the sinusoidal driving type linear brushless DC motor dynamics and outputs. The estimated parameters can be used to tune the controller gain and a disturbance observer. In order to meet this purpose high performance Digital Signal Processor, TMS320F240, designed originally for implementation of a Field Oriented Control(FOC) technology is adopted as a controller of the liner BLDC servo motor. Having A/D converters, PWM generators, rich I/O port internally, this servo motor application specific DSP play an important role in servo motor controller. This linear BLDC servo motor system also contains IPM(Intelligent Power Module) driver and hail sensor type current sensor module, photocoupler module for isolation of gate signals and fault signals.
Prefetching aims at reducing memory latency by fetching, in advance, data that are likely to be requested by the processor in a near future. The effectiveness of prefetching is determined by how accurate the prediction on the needed instructions and data is. Most previous studies on prefetching were limited to proposing a particular prefetch scheme and its performance evaluation, paying little attention to theoretical aspects of prefetching. This paper focuses on the theoretical aspects of instruction prefetching. For this purpose, we propose a clairvoyant prefetch model that makes use of perfect history information. Based on this theoretical model, we analyzed upper limits on the prefetch prediction accuracies of the SPEC benchmarks. The results show that the prefetch prediction accuracy is very high when there is no cache. However, as the size of the instruction cache increases, the prefetch prediction accuracy drops drastically. For example, in the case of the spice benchmark, the prefetch prediction accuracy drops from 53% to 39% when the cache size increases from 2Kbyte to 16Kbyte (assuming 16byte block size). These results indicate that as the cache size increases, most localities are captured by the cache and that instruction prefetching based on the information extracted from the references that missed in the cache suffers from prediction inaccuracies
Ultra-wide-angle wireless endoscopes are demonstrated in this paper. The endoscope is composed of an ultra-wide-angle camera module and wireless transmission module. A lens unit with the ultra-wide FOV of 162 degrees is designed and manufactured. The lens, image sensor, and camera processor unit are packaged together in a $3{\times}3{\times}9-cm3$ case. The wireless transmission modules are implemented based on UWB- and WiFi-based platform, respectively. The UWB-based module can transmit HD video to a computer in resolution of $2048{\times}1536$ (QXGA) and the frame rate of 15 fps in MJPEG compression mode. The maximum data transfer rate reaches 41.2 Mbps. The FOV and the resolution of the endoscope is comparable to a medical-grade endoscope. The FOV and resolution is ~3X and 16X higher than that of a commercial high-performance WiFi endoscope, respectively. The WiFi-based module streams out video to a smart device with th maximum date transfer rate of 1.5 Mbps at the resolution of $640{\times}480$ (VGA) and the frame rate of 30 fps in MJPEG compression mode. The implemented components show the feasibility of cheap medical-grade wireless electronic endoscopes, which can be effectively used in u-healthcare, emergency treatment, home-healthcare, remote diagnosis, etc.
For battery based real-time embedded systems, high performance to meet their real-time constraints and energy efficiency to extend battery life are both essential. Real-Time Dynamic Voltage Scaling (RT-DVS) has been a key technique to satisfy both requirements. In this paper, we present an efficient RT-DVS algorithm called EccEDF that is designed based on ccEDF. The proposed algorithm can precisely calculate the maximum unused utilization with consideration of the elapsed time while keeping the structural simplicity of ccEDF, which overlooked the time needed to run the task in calculating the available slack. The maximum unused utilization can be calculated by dividing remaining execution time($C_i-cc_i$) by remaining time($P_i-E_i$) on completion of the task and it is proved using Fluid scheduling model. We also show that the algorithm outperforms ccEDF in practical applications which is modelled using a PXA250 and a 0.28V-to-1.2V wide-operating-range IA-32 processor model.

Road surface measurement is an essential process for quantifying the degree and displacement of roughness in road surface management. For safer road surface management and quick maintenance, it is important to accurately measure the road surface while mounted on a vehicle. In this paper, we propose a sophisticated road surface measurement system that can be measured on a moving vehicle. The proposed road surface measurement system supports more accurate measurement of the road surface by using a high-performance line laser sensor. It is also possible to measure the transverse and longitudinal profile by matching the position information acquired from the RTK, and the velocity adaptive update algorithm allows a manager to monitor in a real-time manner. In order to evaluate the proposed system, the Gocator laser sensor, MRP module, and NVIDIA Xavier processor were mounted on a test mobile and tested on the road surface. Our evaluation results demonstrate that our system measures accurate profile base on the MSE. Our proposed system can be used not only for evaluating the condition of roads but also for evaluating the impact of adjacent excavation.

Recently, the tracking radar continues research to develop a new operation algorithm that can acquire and track a target in various environments. In general, modeling similar to the real target and environment is used to develop a new operation algorithm, but there is a limit to modeling the real environment. In this paper, a RAW data storage device was developed to efficiently develop a new operation algorithm required for the tracking radar using millimeter wave to acquire and track the target. The RAW data storage equipment is designed so that the signal processing device of the tracking radar using millimeter wave can save the RAW data output from 8 channels to OOOMSPS. RAW data storage equipment consists of data acquisition equipment and data storage equipment. The data acquisition equipment was implemented using a commercial Xilinx KCU 105 Evaluation KIT capable of high-speed data communication interface, and the data storage equipment was implemented by applying a computer compatible with the commercial Xilinx KCU 105 Evaluation KIT. In this paper, the performance of the implemented RAW data storage equipment was verified through repeated interlocking tests with the signal processing device of the millimeter wave tracking radar.

Recently, tracking radar requires the development of millimeter wave tracking radar to acquire target information with high resolution in various environments. The development of millimeter wave tracking radar requires the development of transmission and receiving components that can be applied to the millimeter wave tracking radar, as well as verification of the applicability of the tracking radar. In order to verify the applicability of the developed transmitting and receiving components, it is necessary to develop a signal acquisition device that can control the transmitting and receiving components using the operating concept of a tracking radar and check the status of the received signal. In this paper, we implemented a signal acquisition device that can confirm the applicability of components developed for millimeter wave tracking radar. The signal acquisition device was designed to process in real time the OOOMHz center frequency and OOMHz bandwidth signals input from 4 channels to verify the received signal. In addition, component control applying the tracking radar operation concept was designed to be controlled by communication such as RS422, RS232, and SPI and generation of control signals for the transmission and receiving time. Lastly, the implemented signal acquisition device was verified through a signal acquisition device performance test.
This paper presents a smartphone-attachable vascular compliance monitoring module. The proposed sensor module measures photoplethysmogram (PPG) and reconstructs an accelerated PPG waveform. The feature points are extracted from the accelerated PPG waves, and vascular compliance is estimated using these extracted features. The module is powered via the smartphone's USB terminal and transmits the acquired waveforms along with vascular compliance values through Bluetooth. The transmitted waveforms and vascular compliance value are displayed through the smartphone application. This work proposes an assessment method for consistency of PPG instrumentation, and it was implemented in a processor of sensor module. The proposed sensor module can be easily attached to smartphone that does not support PPG instrumentation, providing simple measurment and numerical analysis of vascular compliance. To verify the performance of the implemented sensor module, we acquired vascular compliance and pulse pressure data from 29 subjects. Pulse pressure, which serves as a representative indicator of vascular compliance, was obtained using a commercial blood pressure monitor. The analysis results showed that the Pearson coefficient between vascular compliance and pulse pressure was 0.778, confirming a relatively high correlation between two metrics.
