After the accelerated aging, the bulkhead initiator using high explosives was carried out to verify aging characteristics. The Thru-Bulkhead Initiator operates by transmitting shock-wave generated from micro-initiator to the acceptor and the ignition explosives through the bulkhead. In order to evaluate the life-time of the product, the accelerated aging condition was set according to the life-time, and the ignition performance of the sample was measured every 10 cycles by measuring the delay time and the maximum pressure through the 10cc closed bomb test. In addition, variance analysis was used to determine aging.
This study deals with interface charactristics of tube and tubesheet of the nuclear steam generator by the explosive expansion in order to take advantage of optimum expansion ratio, pull-out strength and leakage tightness and improvement of the resisitance on the stress corrosion cracking for low residual stress. The paper also show the relationship between roll, hydraulic and explosive expansion. The results obtain are as follows (1) Because of the explosive bonding is to use the high speed pressure and energy by the explosive, workability is good, bonding region is homogenous (2) Expansion ratio is 2.7%, Pull-out strength 850kg, Leakage strength $500kg/cm^2$. Clearance gap is 10~30mm in case of explosive expansion and interface structure of the tube and tubesheet is optimum condition. (3) As the transition region of the explosive expansion is inactive, the resistance of the stress corrosion cracking is increases 30~40% compare to the roll and hydraulic expansion.
In this study, a demolition analysis code using the adaptively shifted integration (ASI)-Gauss technique, which describes structural member fracture by shifting the numerical integration point to an appropriate position and simultaneously releasing the sectional forces in the element, is developed. The code was verified and validated by comparing the predicted results with those of several experiments. A demolition planning tool utilizing the concept of a key element index, which explicitly indicates the contribution of each structural column to the vertical load capacity of the structure, is also develped. Two methods of selecting specific columns to efficiently demolish the whole structure are demonstrated: selecting the columns from the largest index value and from the smallest index value. The demolition results are confirmed numerically by conducting collapse analyses using the ASI-Gauss technique. The numerical results suggest that to achieve a successful demolition, a group of columns with the largest key element index values should be selected when explosives are ignited in a simultaneous blast, whereas those with the smallest should be selected when explosives are ignited in a sequence, with a final blast set on a column with large index value.
Cratering tests in rock are generally carried out to identify its fragmentation characteristics. The test results can be used to estimate the minimum amount of explosives required for the target volume of rock fragmentation. However, it is not easy to perform this type of test due to its high cost and difficulty in securing the test site with the same ground conditions as the site where blasting is to be performed. Consequently, this study investigates the characteristics of rock fragmentation by using the hydrocode in the platform of AUTODYN. The effectiveness of the numerical models adopted are validated against several cratering test results available in the literature, and the effects of rock mass classification and ground formation on crater size are examined. The numerical analysis shows that the dimension of a crater is increased with a decrease in rock quality, and the formation of a crater is highly dependent on a rock of lowest quality in the case of mixed ground. It is expected that the results of the present study can also be applied to the estimation of the level and extent of the damage induced by blasting in concrete structures.

N-Guanylurea dinitramide (GUDN) is an energetic material with low sensitivities and good performance for use as propellants or insensitive munitions explosives. The efficient synthesis and characterization of high energy density material of GUDN is reported. GUDN was characterized spectroscopically as well as elemental analysis. In addition, the heats of formation were calculated with the Gaussian 09 suite of programs. For initial safety testing, the impact sensitivity and the friction sensitivity were tested following BAM procedure.
The cut is placed high up in the section, the 1st sloping holes below the cut, and divided all the holes located below the 1st sloping holes into a certain area with longitudinal section, to lower pollution made from tunnel blasting. With the sequential blasting machine, after I first blasted holes around the cut holes by a pre-splitting method, blasted the cut area and the 1st sloping holes. The 1st and 2nd sloping holes divided areas are initiated gradually to free face upwards made by the cut. Especially, I pre-splinted contour holes previous blast the before sloping holes from the contours. The ground vibration from the earth surface just over the advance face decreased about 42.0% compare with the down blasting method under the condition of equal charge weight per delay. I controlled the crack and over break of the mother rock by pre-splitting contour holes before blast the first sloping holes from the contours. The peak values of noise and air blast by blasting decreased about 10dB more than the down blasting method. the noise and air blast diminished gradually as a round. The throw distance of the fly rock was decreased about 55%.

Recently, the demand of demolition for the unnecessary industrial structure is increasing due to deterioration tendency and the issue of demolition is becoming a major highlight. The restoration of the dismantled industrial site to its original natural state was currently underway. This execution case was intented to describe an application of the felling method one of the explosive demolition method to the demolition of the industrial stack. This stack was 150m high, a composite structure in which the outer wall of the stack was a reinforced concrete shell structure and internal stovepipe was a steel shell structure. As as result of the explosive demolition, the stack had collapsed precisely according to estimated direction. And the explosive demolition was completed without causing any damage to surrounding facilities.
A basic assessment of techniques to mitigate the risk of blast shock waves from proximity explosions was conducted. Common existing techniques include using mitigant materials to form barriers around the explosive or in the direction of propagation of the shock wave. Various explosive energy dissipation mechanisms have been proposed, and research on blast shock wave mitigation utilizing impedance differences has drawn considerable interest. In this study, shear thickening fluid (STF) was applied as a blast mitigation material to evaluate the effectiveness of STF mitigation material on explosion shock wave mitigation through explosion experiments and numerical analysis. As a result, the effectiveness of the STF mitigant material in reducing the explosion shock pressure was verified.

The problem of non-ideal detonation propagation velocities in heterogeneous hybrid mixtures is studied in the case of a high explosive with suspended fine aluminum (Al) particles. Since there exist difference in the time scales of the characteristic induction and combustion of High Explosives and solid particles, the process of energy release behind the leading shock front occurs over an extended period of time. The problem is analyzed by the theory of the mechanics of multiphase media with mass, momentum and heat exchanges between particles and gases. The numerical results match the available experimental results of heavily aluminized (5~25% Al weight) HMX explosive obtained previously.
Domestic electronic detonators are used widely in many quarry and construction sites since its launch at 2013. In the case of SOC projects conducted in the city, most of them are designed in high-depth to reduce complaints. The high-depth excavation needs a long construction period and huge cost for building shaft and ventilation hole. Mechanical excavation method is applied when safety things are located nearby the site. Solidity of rock and machine's performance affect on the method's efficiency. So as the efficiency is getting lower, the construction period is extended, and the cost is increases as well. This case study is about changing the machine excavation method to the blasting method which is electronic detonator applied at the shaft construction site in the city. This is an example of using electronic detonators on the construction site in reducing blast-noise and vibration while meeting environmental regulatory standards.
