Demagnetization Diagnosis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Using Frequency Analysis at Standstill Condition

  • Recently, electric vehicles have got significant attention because it is more eco-friendly and efficient than internal combustion engine vehicles. Instead of an internal combustion engine, the electric vehicle has a motor for propulsion. The permanent magnet synchronous motor which has permanent magnet instead of field winding in the rotor has especially higher efficiency and power density than other types of motor. When the irreversible demagnetization is occurred, drivers are exposed to high risk of accident by the fault operation of motor. Therefore, the irreversible demagnetization of permanent magnet should be detected to reduce the risk of accident. In this study, the demagnetization diagnosis method based on the result of locked rotor test is proposed. Based on short measurement time, the proposed diagnosis method aims to detect the demagnetization fault when an electric vehicle is at a complete standstill. The proposed method is verified through the finite element analysis.

  • In many technical fields including electronics and display manufacturing processes, properties of coating liquids could be greatly enhanced by adding nanopowders and it requires efficient mixing techniques to achieve uniform dispersion of nanoparticles in liquids. This paper presents the three-dimensional CFD simulations on the flowfields of a highly viscous liquid in the large scale industrial mixer of impeller type. The effects of several important design and operation parameters such as impeller geometry, rotational speed, and degree of liquid viscosity are investigated to appreciate the mixing performance by examining the computational results for flow pattern of rotationally stirred liquid of high viscosity in the mixer.

  • Since Elliptic Curve Cryptosystems(ECCs) support the same security as RSA cryptosystem and ElGamal cryptosystem with 1/6 size key, ECCs are the most efficient to smart cards, cellular phone and small-size computers restricted by high memory capacity and power of process. In this paper, we explicitly explain methods for finite fields operations used in ECC, and then construct some composite fields over finite fields which are secure under Weil's decent attack and maximize the speed of operations. Lastly, we propose a fast multiplier over our composite fields.

  • In this paper, a $4{\times}4$ rectangular patch array antenna operated at 20 GHz is implemented for the satellite communication. Two $2{\times}2$ subarrays are designed and more efficient $2{\times}2$ subarray is used for the design of $4{\times}4$ patch array. The sixteen patch antennas and microstrip feeding line are printed on the single-layered substrate. The spacing between the array elements is chosen to be $0.736{\lambda}$. HPBW (Half-Power Beam Width) is 17.6 degrees in the E-plane and 18.7 degrees in the H-plane with a gain of 17.2SdBi in the simulation results.

  • The recent summer power peak crisis has been caused by excessive use of cooling loads at daily peak time in summer. The yearly load shape of KEPCO has gradually became very steep valley. Under this situation, more efficient DSM(Demand Side Management) tools are fully required for summer peak clipping and shaving. In this paper, the KEPCO's Jeju-Do model project for DSM, especially for Demand Controller, is presented. Demand Controller was evaluated to have the very high economical efficiency against the investment in equipment, as compared with another DSM tools. There were some serious problem to apply Demand Controller to many customers in the aspect to synchronization with KEPCO's watthour meter. But these problems have solved by Keyin's new Demand Controller using vision algorithm.

  • Recently, there has been an increasing demand of high data rates services, where several multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) techniques were introduced to meet these demands. Among these techniques, vector perturbation combined with linear precoding techniques, such as zero-forcing and minimum mean-square error, have been proven to be efficient in reducing the transmit power and hence, perform close to the optimum algorithm. In this paper, we review several fixed-complexity vector perturbation techniques and investigate their performance under both perfect and imperfect channel knowledge at the transmitter. Also, we investigate the combination of block diagonalization with vector perturbation outline its merits.

  • 본 논문은 단상 3 레벨 NPC 인버터에서 스위칭 손실 저감을 위한 스위칭 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 유니폴라 스위칭 방법은 두 레그의 스위치가 독립적으로 제어되어 전압을 출력하며 모든 스위치가 계속해서 ON/OFF 동작을 수행 한다. 이는 스위치에서 발생하는 스위칭 손실을 증가 시킨다. 제안하는 스위칭 방법은 한 레그의 스위치의 동작을 고정시키고, 다른 한 레그의 스위치만을 ON/OFF 동작하여 전체적인 스위칭 손실을 감소 시킨다. PSIM을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 스위칭 방법과 유니폴라 스위칭 방법을 비교 분석하고 타당성을 확인한다.

  • 본 논문은 태양광 발전의 주변 환경 변화에 종속적인 태양광 모듈 출력을 개선하기 위해 사용되는 태양광 발전 시스템용 DC-MIC (Module Integrated Converter) 의 효율 향상을 위한 주파수 제어 기법을 제안한다. 최적 주파수 제어 기법을 위해 전부하 범위 DC-MIC의 효율을 이론과 실험을 통해 분석하였고 이를 바탕으로 기존의 고속의 스위칭 주파수 대비 스위칭 주파수를 낮춰 효율을 높이고 과도 상태 구간 동안 주파수를 높여 시스템 응답 속도를 높이는 시스템을 구현한다.

  • This paper describes an implementation of the DSP(Digital Signal Processor) based triangular carrier frequency modulated RPWM inverter drive system. The power spectrum of the noise emitted from the induction motor was measured in the anechoic chamber. The analysis of the sources for the acoustic noise and the effects of the noise reduction are confirmed by the measured spectra of the noise. Real-time RPWM along with the speed control was achieved by high speed DSP. By changing the center frequency and the bandwidth of the carrier, the proposed real-time RPWM scheme can be used as an efficient switching frequency band acoustic noise reduction method for the inverter drive system with variant load conditions.

  • The new power train system for electric vehicle is introduced in this paper. This system includes two light weighted and high-efficient motor, two space vector PWM inverter, one system controller using CAN controller and DSP320C50. These are developed by KERI cooperated with 5 major industry companies, 5 universities including 2 foreign universities. The reliability and performance are proven by the test rig. The reference data will be collected for further researches.
