고장점 탐색 장치를 위한 H/W 설계 (H/W Design for Fault Location System on Underground Power Cable System)

  • Developing fault location system for underground power cable which can detect its fault location exactly require very high speed data acquisition and signal processing capability. We are developing fault location system which is different from conventional fault locator. This fault location system monitor underground power cable by using on-line speed current sensor and if there are an accident, it record its transient signal and calculate fault location by analyzing it. Signals which acquired when power cable fault arise, showed transient characteristics and its frequency band is very hish. So, to develop fault location system, we designed special high speed data acquisition and signal processing board. In this thesis, we describe on data acquisition and signal processing H/W design for fault location system on underground power cable.

  • In this paper, a particular application of digital photos, remote sensing, remote shooting air moving, high-resolution and high compression of medical images required by remote shooting of JPEG2000 standard applied in the field of hardware design, production was implemented. JPEG2000 standard for image compression using the software implementation of the processing speed is very slow compared to conventional JPEG disadvantages, and also the standard of JPEG2000 DWT (Discrete wavelet transform) to improve the level of compression for image data if processing speed is a phenomenon that has degraded. In order to solve these JPEG2000 compression / decompression groups were designed and applied. In this paper, the optimal JPEG2000 compression / reservoir hardware by changing the level for still image compression, faster computation speed and quality has shown improvement.

  • Carbon fiber epoxy composite are widely used in airframe structures, space vehicles, sports equipment, and high speed reciprocating parts for industrial machinery. In this paper, the groove processing characteristics of carbon fiber epoxy com-posite was experimentally investigated in order to study the endmill operation of fiber reinforce epoxy composites. Followings are main finding from the experimental results. First, the cutting and bending force in groove processing of the carbon fiber epoxy composite increased as the spindle speed deceased. They also deceased as the table feed increased. Second, the good cutting status obtained at the entrance of groove while delamination occurred at the exit of groove, Third, the regular high speed steel endmill was not efficient, thus the new endmill such as coated carbide rooter endmill or dia-mode endmill should be used for the effective endmll operation of carbon filber epoxy composites.

  • We analyze risks andd present the requirements of digital multisignature in electronic contract systems where several persons contract a digital document electronically. We also apply a few digital multisignature schemes that have been developed so far, to the electronic contract system and propose a new digital multisignature scheme based on the Fiat-Shamir scheme. We investigate how these schemes satisfy with the requirements and evaluate their efficiency in terms of processing speed. communication complexity, and message length Owing to the high processing speed and the high degree of satisfaction to the requirements, the proposed scheme is suitable for electronic contract systems.

  • In this paper, We have studied on the critical vibration limits of spindle unit for the high speed ball pen tip processing machine. The vibration of bearing can be measured by FFT, and the influence of vibration amplitude due to the Unbalance, bearing deflect, bite and timing belts tension are analyzed. So, the critical vibration limits of spindle is determined by the X, Z directional vibration of spindle Unit.

  • 근년, 반도체 기술의 급격한 진보에 따라 고기능 논리회로의 VLSI화가 가능하게 되었다. 이에 따라 수치 처리의 고원화, 광대역 화상처리등을 위한 고기능 회로들의 전용 VLSI 칩의 설계가 연구되고 있으며, 여러 종류의 소프트웨어 패키지의 VLSI화가 가능하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 계산기의 회귀분석용 범용 소프트웨어 패키지(BMD)를 하드웨어화하는 설계 수법을 제안하였다. 이것은 종래의 통계 처리를 소프트웨어에만 의존하기 때문에 처리 속도가 저하되는 것을 하드웨어화함으로써 개선하였다. 설계 알고리즘은 통계 수첩의 계산 특징을 살려 본 시스템을 구성한다. 그 결과 하드웨어화에 의하여 소프트웨어 패키지의 복잡성이 제거되고, 고속 처리함으로써 확률을 향상시켰다.

고속카메라를 이용한 전차선 압상량 검측 시스템 개발 (Development of an Uplift Measurement System for Overhead Contact Wire using High Speed Camera)

  • The measurement of contact wire uplift in electric railways is one of the most important test parameters to accepting the maximum permitted speed of new electric vehicles and pantographs. The contact wire uplift can be measured over short periods when the pantograph passes monitoring stations. In this paper, a high-speed image measurement system and its image processing method are being developed to evaluate dynamic uplift of overhead contact wires caused by pantograph contact forces of Korea Tilting Train eXpress (TTX) and Korea Train eXpress (KTX). The image measurement system was implemented utilizing a high-speed CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) camera and gigabit ethernet LAN. Unlike previous systems, the uplift measurement system using high speed camera is installed on the side of the rail, making maintenance convenient. On-field verification of the uplift measurement system for overhead contact wire using high speed camera was conducted by measuring uplift of the TTX followed by operation speeds at the Honam conventional line and high-speed railway line. The proposed high-speed image measurement system to evaluate dynamic uplift of overhead contact wires shows promising on-field applications for high speed trains such as KTX and TTX.

고속열간압연에서 고속도공구강 봉재의 온도분포 해석 (Temperature Distribution of High Speed Tool Steel Rod During High Speed Hot Rolling Procedure)

  • The temperature distribution of high speed tool steel rod has been studied during high speed hot rolling procedures. The tool steel rod shows severe temperature gradient during rolling procedures and the temperature at the center of rod are much higher than that at the surface of rod. This temperature gradient accumulated after every rolling procedure and the center of rolled rod could be remelt in some procedures to cause inside defects. In this study, the temperature distribution was simulated using finite element method and the processing parameters such as rolling speed, cooling condition, have been discussed to prevent the temperature increases at the center of rod.

  • The pantograph for Korean High Speed Train was developed and had been evaluating by through "G7- R&D for home grown high speed train technology". In this study, a relation in mechanical aspect between the train running speed and the current collecting performance of the pantograph is conducted.'for this study, a measuring system for current collecting performance and mechanical characteristics is developed and installed on the prototype Korean High Speed Train, and measurement is conducted while the train runs on the test track. The measuring system is composed of video monitoring system and telemetry & data processing unit. It monitors whether the hazard behavior in the pantograph is occurs or not, and measures acceleration and vertical contact force between the pan head and catenary. Through this study, evaluation of a mechanical vibration characteristics and trend of the pantograph and a interface performance of pantograph - catenary up to 200㎞/h train speed are facilitated.

화상처리에 의한 교통류 해석방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Traffic Flow Analysis Method by Image Processing)

  • Today advanced traffic management systems are required because of a high increase in traffic demand. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to take advantage of image processing systems and present image processing methods available for collection of the data on traffic characteristics, and then to investigate the possibility of traffic flow analysis by means of comparison and analysis of measured traffic flow. Data were collected at two places of Daegu city and Kyongbu expressway by using VTR. Rear view (down stream) and frontal view (up stream) methods were employed to compare and analyze traffic characteristics including traffic volume, speed, time-headway, time-occupancy, and vehicle-length, by analysis of measured traffic flow and image processing respectively. Judging from the results obtained by this study, image processing techniques are sufficient for the analysis of traffic volume, but a frame grabber equipped with high speed processor is necessary as well, with low level system judged to be sufficient for traffic volume analysis.
