Presented in this paper is the design of a high voltage switch module made up of MOSFETs, pulse transformers and their gate driver circuits compactly fitted onto a single PCB module. The ease by which the switch modules can be configured (series stacking and/or parallel stacking) to meet future load variations allows for flexible operation of this design. In addition, the detailed implementation of the gate driver circuit for reliable and easier switch synchronization is also described in this paper. The stored energy in the capacitor bank of a 15kV, 4.5kJ/s peak power capacitor charger was discharged using the developed high voltage switch, and by experimental results, the operation of the proposed circuit was verified to be effectively used as a switch for pulse discharging.
This paper proposes a new zero-current switching (ZCS) pulse-width modulation (PWM) switch cell that has no additional conduction loss of the main switch. In this cell, the main switch and the auxiliary switch turn on and turn off under zero current condition. The diodes commutate softly and the reverse recovery problems are alleviated. The conduction loss and the current stress of the main switch are minimized, since the resonating current stress of the main switch are minimized, since the resonating current for the soft switching does not flow through the main switch. Based on the proposed ZCS PWM switch cell, a new family of DC to DC PWM converters is derived. The new family of ZCS PWM converters is suitable for the high power applications employing IGBTs. Among the new family of DC to DB PWM converters, a boost converter was taken as an example and has been analyzed. Design guidelines with a design example are described and verified by experimental results from the 2.5 kW prototype converter operating at 40 kHz.
Generally, previous converter is divided into two categories to get high power factor and good output regulation. These two categories can be combined a category with a main switch. These converter is called Single Stage PFC Converter. This approach has good electrical characteristics of high power factor and fast output voltage regulation. The cost and size are important factor to design the converter in low power system. Even single stage can reduce the size and cost, but this approach needs to have additional circuit like control, PWM circuit. To improve these demerits, Top switch is one of good choice In reduce and size in low power single stage converter. Because it has the ability of current limit, thermal protection, oscillator, control circuit as well as a main switch ability.
This paper presents a soft-switching average current control PWM high power factor boost converter. Conventional boost ZVT-PWM converter has a disadvantage of hard-switching for auxiliary switch at turn-off. A soft switched auxiliary switch is proposed to achieve a high performance ZVT-PWM boost rectifier. The simulation and experimental results show that soft switching operation can be maintained for wide line and load range, which in turn improves the converter performance in terms of efficiency, switching noise and circuit reliability.

In this paper, a novel circuit topology of a three-winding coupling inductor-assisting a high-frequency PWM boost chopper type DC-DC power converter with a high boost voltage conversion ratio and low switch voltage stress is proposed for the new energy interfaced DC power conditioner in solar photovoltaic and fuel cell generation systems. The operating principle in a steady state is described by using its equivalent circuits under the practical condition of energy processing of a lossless capacitive snubber. The newly-proposed power MOSFET boost chopper type DC-DC power converter with the three-winding coupled inductor type transformer and a single lossless capacitor snubber is built and tested for an output power of 500W. Utilizing the lower voltage and internal resistance power MOSFET switch in the proposed PWM boost chopper type DC-DC power converter can reduce the conduction losses of the active power switch compared to the conventional model. Therefore, the total actual power conversion efficiency under a condition of the nominal rated output power is estimated to be 81.1 %, which is 3.7% higher than the conventional PWM boost chopper DC power conversion circuit topology.
PLS 2-GeV linac has 11 sets of high power klystron-modulator system as a main RF source for the beam acceleration. The modulators can provide 200-MW peak pulsed power(400-kV, 500-A) with a pulse width of $7.5{\mu}s$(ESW), a maximum pulse repetition rate of 120-Hz at the full power level. The DC power supply provides a 25-kV, 7-Adc and the charging system consists of a charging inductor, charging capacitor, and the diode for reverse current protection. The charged PFN voltage by a LC resonant charging method has two times of the DC high voltage and the pulsed power is delivered to the load by a thyratron switch. To reduced the press of high voltage lit thyratron switch, the command charging is the best method. In this article, the high voltage switch for the command charging method is tested to the start work and the system is presented with the experiment results of the trigger and operational characteristics.

This paper describes a high-radix crossbar switch design with low latency and power dissipation for Network-on-Chip (NoC) applications. The reduction in latency and power is achieved by employing a folded-clos topology, implementing the switch organized as three stages of low-radix switches connected in cascade. In addition, to facilitate the uniform placement of wires among the sub-switch stages, this paper proposes a Mux-Matrix-Mux structure, which implements the first and third switch stages as multiplexer-based crossbars and the second stage as a matrix-type crossbar. The proposed 256-radix, 8-bit crossbar switch designed in a 65nm CMOS has the simulated power dissipation of 1.92-W and worst-case propagation delay of 0.991-ns while operating at 1.2-V supply and 500-MHz frequency. Compared with the state-of-the-art designs in literature, the proposed crossbar switch achieves the best energy-delay-area efficiency of $0.73-fJ/cycle{\cdot}ns{\cdot}{\lambda}^2$.
This paper presents a new high step-up dc/dc converter for renewable energy systems in which a high voltage gain is provided by using a coupled inductor. The operation of the proposed converter is based on a charging capacitor with a single power switch in its structure. A passive clamp circuit composed of capacitors and diodes is employed in the proposed converter for lowering the voltage stress on the power switch as well as increasing the voltage gain of the converter. Since the voltage stress is low in the provided topology, a switch with a small ON-state resistance can be used. As a result, the losses are decreased and the efficiency is increased. The operating principle and steady-states analyses are discussed in detail. To confirm the viability and accurate performance of the proposed high step-up dc-dc converter, several simulation and experimental results obtained through PSCAD/EMTDC software and a built prototype are provided.
This paper, we presents a RF protection technique of antenna switch by improving the power handling capability in worst case environment mode for mobile phone applications without critical payment of circuit performances such as insertion loss, isolation and ACBV (AC breakdown voltage). By applying a additional capacitive path located in front of the antenna in cell-phone, it performs the effective reduction of input power in high voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) condition. Under the all-path off condition which causes a high VSWR, it achieved 37.7dBm power handling level as high as 5.7dB compared to that of conventional one at 2GHz. In addition, insertion loss and isolation performances were 0.31dB and 42.72dB at 2 GHz, respectively which were almost similar to that of the conventional circuit. The proposed antenna switch was fabricated in 130nm CMOS SOI technology.
In this paper, a cost-effective single switch multi-channel LED (light emitting diode) driver is proposed. While conventional LED drivers require as many non-isolated DC/DC converters as the number of LED channels, the proposed LED driver needs only one power switch and several balancing capacitors instead of expensive non-isolated DC/DC converters. Therefore, the proposed driver features a simpler structure, with a lower cost and a higher efficiency. Because its power switch can be turned off under the zero current switching condition, it has very desirable advantages such as improved electromagnetic interference characteristics and high efficiency. Moreover, it uses only a small number of DC blocking capacitors with no additional active devices for the current balancing of multi-channel LEDs. As a result, the proposed driver exhibits high reliability and is cost effective. To confirm the validity of the proposed driver, a theoretical analysis is performed, and design considerations and experimental results obtained from a prototype that is applicable to a 46" LED-TV are presented.
