Simulation studies on catalytic methanation reaction in externally cooled tubular reactor filled with monolithic catalysts were carried out using a general purpose modelling tool $gPROMS^{(R)}$. We investigated the effects of operating parameters such as gas space velocity, temperature and pressure of feeding gas on temperature distribution inside the reactor, overall CO conversion, and chemical composition of product gas. In general, performance of methanation reaction is favored under low temperature and high pressure for a wide range of their values. However, methane production becomes negligible at temperatures below 573K when the reactor temperature is not high enough to ignite methanation reaction. Capacity enhancement of the reactor by increasing gas space velocity and/or gas inlet pressure resulted no significant reduction in reactor performance and heat transfer property of catalyst.
In order to obtain superior breakdown properties of Epoxy/$SiO_2$ composite materials at room and high temperature, the simultaneous interpenetrating polymer networks(SIN) is introduced into the Epoxy resin. As a result, it is observed that dielectric breakdown strength tends to increase according to the following order ; Epoxy/$SiO_2$ specimens, specimens treated with coupling agent and SIN introduced specimens which have stable temperature characteristics at room and high temperature. For introducing SIN Epoxy/$SiO_2$ composite material, rise of glass transition temperature and suppression of defects in its internal structure is achieved. This in turn improves the dielectric breakdown strength and the heat proof property of Epoxy/$SiO_2$ composite materials.

Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) is a typical highly Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) currently used as a transparent electrode material. Most widely used deposition method is the sputtering process for ITO film deposition because it has a high deposition rate, allows accurate control of the film thickness and easy deposition process and high electrical/optical properties. However, to apply high quality ITO thin film in a flexible microelectronic device using a plastic substrate, conventional DC magnetron sputtering (DMS) processed ITO thin film is not suitable because it needs a high temperature thermal annealing process to obtain high optical transmittance and low resistivity, while the generally plastic substrates has low glass transition temperatures. In the room temperature sputtering process, the electrical property degradation of ITO thin film is caused by negative oxygen ions effect. This high energy negative oxygen ions(about over 100eV) can be critical physical bombardment damages against the formation of the ITO thin film, and this damage does not recover in the room temperature process that does not offer thermal annealing. Hence new ITO deposition process that can provide the high electrical/optical properties of the ITO film at room temperature is needed. To solve these limitations we develop the Magnetic Field Shielded Sputtering (MFSS) system. The MFSS is based on DMS and it has the plasma limiter, which compose the permanent magnet array (Fig.1). During the ITO thin film deposition in the MFSS process, the electrons in the plasma are trapped by the magnetic field at the plasma limiters. The plasma limiter, which has a negative potential in the MFSS process, prevents to the damage by negative oxygen ions bombardment, and increases the heat(-) up effect by the Ar ions in the bulk plasma. Fig. 2. shows the electrical properties of the MFSS ITO thin film and DMS ITO thin film at room temperature. With the increase of the sputtering pressure, the resistivity of DMS ITO increases. On the other hand, the resistivity of the MFSS ITO slightly increases and becomes lower than that of the DMS ITO at all sputtering pressures. The lowest resistivity of the DMS ITO is $1.0{\times}10-3{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and that of the MFSS ITO is $4.5{\times}10-4{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. This resistivity difference is caused by the carrier mobility. The carrier mobility of the MFSS ITO is 40 $cm^2/V{\cdot}s$, which is significantly higher than that of the DMS ITO (10 $cm^2/V{\cdot}s$). The low resistivity and high carrier mobility of the MFSS ITO are due to the magnetic field shielded effect. In addition, although not shown in this paper, the roughness of the MFSS ITO thin film is lower than that of the DMS ITO thin film, and TEM, XRD and XPS analysis of the MFSS ITO show the nano-crystalline structure. As a result, the MFSS process can effectively prevent to the high energy negative oxygen ions bombardment and supply activation energies by accelerating Ar ions in the plasma; therefore, high quality ITO can be deposited at room temperature.
Undoped GaN epitaxial layer was grown on c-plane sapphire substrate by a two-step growth with metalorganic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD). We have investigated the effects of the variation of final growth temperature on surface morphology, roughness, crystal quality, optical property, and electrical property In a horizontal MOCVD reactor, the film was grown at 300 Tow low-pressure with a fixed nucleation temperature of $500^{\circ}C$, varing the final growth temperature from $850\~1050^{\circ}C$ . The undoped GaN epilayers were characterized by atomic force microscopy, high-resolution x-ray diffractometer, photoluminescence, and Hall effect measurement.
The high temperature deformation behavior of the activated sintered W powder compacts was investigated. The W compact showed the relative density of 94% with the average W grain size of $23\mutextrm{m}$ by activated sintering at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. Compression tests were carried out in the temperature range of $900-1100^{\circ}C$ at the strain rate range of $10^{0}$/sec - $10^{-3}$/sec. True stress-strain curve and microstructure exhibited the grain boundary brittleness which was dependent on the compression test temperature. The activated sintered W compact showed that the maximum stress as well as the strain at the maximum stress was abruptly decreased as the test temperature increase from $900^{\circ}C$ to 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$ regardless of the strain rate. The discrepancy of the microstructure in the specimen center was obviously observed with the increase of the test temperature. After compression test at $900^{\circ}C$ the W grain was severely deformed normally against the compression axis. However, after compression test at $1000^{\circ}C$ and $1100^{\circ}C$ the W grain was not deformed, but the microcrack was formed in the W grain boundary. The Ni-rich second phase segregated along the W grain boundary could be partly unstable over $900^{\circ}C$ and affect the poor mechanical property of the activated sintered W compact.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the dyeability and functional properties of dyed fabric with the extract of Myrica rubra rind. For this purpose, the ultraviolet and visible spectra of the bark extracts were investigated. The dyeing temperature, dyeing time, mordant type, mordanting order, mordant concentration and dyeability were investigated. The color fastness based on washing, dry-cleaning, rubbing and light were evaluated by the types of Myrica rubra rind extract used. In addition, the deodorization and antibacterial activity were measured, and the functionality of the silk fabric dyed with the extract of the Myrica rubra rind was evaluated. The result shows that the color strength of the dye was excellent when the Myrica rubra rind was dyed at $80^{\circ}C$ for 80 minutes. The mordant dye color strength was high in the order of Fe mordant> Cu mordant> Al mordant. The dyeability of Al and Cu mordant was high during pre-mordanting compared to Fe mordant, and the dyeability of Fe mordant was high during post-mordanting than Cu and Al mordant. The deodorant property of the dyed fabric stained with the Myrica rubra rind extract was 92.4% and that of antibacterial property was 99.9% for Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria respectively.

In this paper we investigated electrical properties for epoxy resin with improved mechanical property, elastomer epoxy. Investigated electrical properties are permittivity, tan $\delta$ and breakdown voltage strength(BDV). Permittivity and tan $\delta$ have dependancy on additive Quantity in general purpose epoxy resin. In particularly, those have very high values at low frequency and high temperature according to increasing component of elastomer. In case of BDV test, those materials have only a little difference due to increasing elastomer components. But in case of high quantities of elastomer, BDV has a difference. These results are represented that elastomer epoxy resin despite superior mechanical property needs many carefully thought as application electrical insulation.

High silicon cast irons(HSCI) with the high acid resistance have been used for the prevention of acid corrosion occurring in various structures under acid conditions. However, the HSCI is only known as one of materials which have high acid resistance, but few work has dealt with this material in domestic. Therefore, in this study, the acid resistance of various cast irons with alloying elements and melting conditions have been examined, and studied the influences of the matrix structures, mechanical properties and morphologies of graphite. The results obtained in this study are as follows : In case of melting temperature, the mechanical properties of specimen manufactured with high temperature of $1650^{\circ}C$ showed higher value because the inclusion and impurity were removed. In case of pouring temperature, the mechanical properties of specimen fabricated below $1350^{\circ}C$ of pouring temperature showed higher value because the amount of gas absorption from atmosphere decreased during the solidification time. The corrosion rate decreased with increase in Si content. On the other hand, Mn addition appeared an opposite trend with Si.

Micron size Co-alloy(T800) powder was coated on Inconel 718 by HVOF thermal spraying for the studies of the improvement of durability of high speed spindle by using Taguchi program for the parameters of spray distance, flow rates of hydrogen and oxygen and powder feed rate. The optimal coating process was determined by the studies of coating properties such as micro-structure, porosity, surface roughness and micro hardness. Friction and wear behaviors of coatings were investigated by sliding wear test at room temperature and $1000^{\circ}F(538^{\circ}C)$. At both room temperature and $538^{\circ}C$ the sliding wear debris and friction coefficients of the coating were drastically reduced compared with the surface of non-coated parent material. This shows that Co-alloy powder coating is highly recommendable for the durability improvement surface coating of high speed air-bearing spindle. At high temperature wear traces and friction coefficients of both coating and non-coating were drastically reduced compared with those of room temperature since the brittle oxides were formed easily on the surface, and the brittle oxide phases were attrited by the reciprocating sliding wear according to the complicated mixed wear mechanisms These oxide particles, partially melts and the melts play role as lubricant and reduce the wear and friction coefficient. This also shows that Co-alloy powder coating is highly recommendable far the durability improvement surface coating on the surface vulnerable to frictional heat such as high speed spindles.
Composites are widely used for aircraft, satellite and other structures due to its good mechanical and thermal characteristics such as low coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE), heat-resistance, high specific stiffness and specific strength. In order to use composites under condition of high temperature, however, material properties of composites at high temperatures must be measured and verified. In this paper, material properties of T700/Epoxy were measured through tension tests of composite specimens with an embedded FBG sensor in the thermal chamber at the temperatures of RT, $100^{\circ}$, $200^{\circ}$, $300^{\circ}$, $300^{\circ}$. Through the pre-test of an embedded optical fiber, we confirmed the embedding effects of an optical fiber on material properties of the composites. Two kinds of specimens of which stacking sequences are [0/{0}/0]$_{T}$. and [$90_2$/{0}/$90_2$]. were fabricated. From the experimental results, material property changes of composites were successfully shown according to temperatures and we confirmed that fiber Bragg grating sensor is very appropriate to strain measurement of composites under high temperature.
