Parametric Study on the Design of Turbocharger Journal Bearing - Aeration Effects

  • Turbocharger bearings are under the circumstance of high temperature, moreover rotated at high speed. It is necessary to be designed overcoming the high temperature. So the type of oil inlet port, the inlet oil temperature and the sort of engine oil should be designed, controlled and selected carefully in order to reduce the bearing inside temperature. In this study, the influence of aerated oil on a high-speed journal bearing is also examined by using the classical thermohydrodynamic lubrication theory coupled with analytical models for viscosity and density of air-oil mixture in fluid-film bearing. Convection to the walls and mixing with supply oil and re-circulating oil are considered. The considered parameters for the study of bubbly lubrication are oil inlet port's type, oil aeration level and shaft speed. It is found that the type of oil inlet ports and shaft speed play important roles in determining the temperature and pressure, then the friction and load of journal bearing at high speed operation. Also, the results show that, under extremely high shaft speed, the high shear effects on aerated oil and the high temperature effects are canceled out each other. So, the bearing load and friction show almost no difference between the aerated oil and pure oil.

고속 프로펠러 블레이드 정적 구조 설계 및 시험 (The Static Structural Design and Test of High Speed Propeller Blade)

  • The recent high speed propeller with blade sweep is required to have high strength to get the thrust to fly at high speed. The high stiffness and strength carbon/epoxy composite material is used for the major structure and skin-spar-foam sandwich structural type is adopted for advantage in terms of the blade weight. As a design procedure for the present study, the structural design load is estimated through investigation on aerodynamic load and then flanges of spars from major bending loads and the skin from shear loads are sized using the netting rule and Rule of Mixture. In order to investigate the structural safety and stability, stress analysis is performed by finite element analysis code MSC. NASTRAN. It is found that current methodology of composite structure design is a valid method through the static structural test of prototype blade.

고속열간압연시 압연조건에 따른 AA5052의 두께방향으로의 변형량 및 미세조직 변화 (Through-Thickness Variation of Strain and Microstructure of AA5052 with Rolling Conditions During High Speed Hot Rolling)

  • The through-thickness variations of strain and microstructure during high-speed hot rolled 5052 aluminum alloy sheet were investigated. The specimens were rolled at temperature ranges from 410 to $560^{\circ}C$ at a rolling speed of 15 m/s without lubrication and quenched into water at an interval of 30 ms after rolling. The redundant shear strain induced by high friction between rolls and the aluminum sheet was increased largely beneath the surface at a rolling reduction above 50%. Dynamic recrystallization occurred in the surface regions of the specimen rolled under conditions of high temperatures or high rolling reductions.

  • Being the concrete track laid on bridge, due to track-bridge temperature difference, traction and brake force, and nosing force, the horizontal force can be applied to the track slab. Therefore, shear key structures to resist this horizontal force should be installed. The shear key structures installed in the Kyeong-Bu high-speed line are consisted of four shear keys at every slab with the length of 6 to 8m. However, in the point of view of construction, it is more advantageous to curtail the numbers of shear keys, and thus, the numbers and spacing of the shear keys should be carefully determined. In this study, hence, the effects of slab length, the numbers and spacing of the shear keys on design of shear key and track slab are examined.

Sn-Ag-Cu-In 4원계 무연솔더 조인트의 고속 전단 특성 (High-Speed Shear Test Characterization of Sn-Ag-Cu-In Quaternary Solder Joint)

  • 본 연구에서는 고속 전단시험의 변형속도를 500 mm/s로 설정한 상태에서 Sn-Ag-Cu계(Sn-1.0wt.%Ag-0.5Cu 및 Sn-4.0Ag-0.5Cu)뿐만이 아니라 4종의 4원계 Sn-Ag-Cu-In 조성(Sn-1.0Ag-0.5Cu-1.0In, Sn-1.2Ag-0.5Cu-0.4In, Sn-1.2Ag-0.5Cu-0.6In, Sn-1.2Ag-0.7Cu-0.4In)을 포함하는 무연 솔더 접합부의 솔더링 직후 및 시효 시간에 따른 파면 생성결과, 접합강도 및 접합부 파괴에너지값의 변화를 측정, 비교해 보았다. 그 결과, 리플로우 솔더링 직후 및 $125^{\circ}C$에서의 500 시간 시효까지 주로 연성 파괴모드 및 준연성 파괴모드가 관찰되었으며, 준연성 파괴모드의 발생 빈도를 분석할 때 고속 전단조건에서 상용 무연 솔더 조성인 Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu 이상의 연성파괴 특성을 나타내는 것으로 파악되었다. 또한 4원계 무연 솔더 조인트는 평균적으로 Sn-Ag-Cu계 조성 수준의 파단에너지값을 나타내었는데, 약 100 시간의 시효 후 최고의 파단에너지값이 관찰되었으나 500 시간의 시효 후에는 파단에너지값의 확연한 감소가 관찰되어 500 시간의 시효시점부터 솔더 접합 계면부의 신뢰성 감소가 가속화되는 경향을 관찰할 수 있었다.

An Overview of Liquid Spray Modeling Formed by High-Shear Nozzle/Swirler Assembly

  • A multi-dimensioanl model is being increasingly used to predict the thermo-flow field in the gas turbine combustor. This article addresses an integrated survey of modeling of the liquid spray formation and fuel distribution in gas turbine with high-shear nozzle/swirler assembly. The processes of concern include breakup of a liquid jet injected through a hole type orifice into air stream, spray-wall interaction and spray-film interaction, breakup of liquid sheet into ligaments and droplet,5, and secondary droplet breakup. Atomization of liquid through hole nozzle is described using a liquid blobs model and hybrid model of Kelvin-Helmholtz wave and Rayleigh-Taylor wave. The high-speed viscous liquid sheet atomization on the pre-filmer is modeled by a linear stability analysis. Spray-wall interaction model and liquid film model over the wall surface are also considered.

신뢰성에 기초한 고속철도 교량의 안전도 및 내하력평가 (Reliability-Based Safety and Capacity Evaluation of High-Speed Railroad Bridges)

  • 한국에서는 서울-부산간 고속철도건설이 5년전 시험구간의 시공을 시작으로 본격적인 고속철도건설이 진행중에 있다. 본 연구에서는, 고속철도교량의 전산화 유지관리를 위한 신뢰성에 기초한 건전성 평가모델을 개발하는데 중점을 두고 있다. 신뢰성 해석을 위한 PC철도교의 강도한계상태모형은 휨 또는 전단강도와 같이 단일 파괴모드뿐만아니라 휨, 전단 및 비틀림을 동시에 고려하는 조합상관식도 고려되었다. 실제적인 내하력 평가를 위해 체계신뢰성에 기초한 등가내하력 평가방법을 사용하였으며 이로부터 얻은 결과를 요소신뢰성과 재래적인 방법에 의한 결과와 비교하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 모델은 실재하는 고속철도교량의 신뢰성에 기초한 실제적인 안전도 및 내하력평가를 위한 적절한 모델임을 알 수 있었다.

고성능 주입장비의 적용에 따른 주입재의 물성변화 및 주입효과 증진에 관한 연구 (The Physical Properties Variation of Grout Materials and Improvement of Grouting Effects on Application of High Performance Injection Equipment)

  • 용액형 주입재의 경우 침투성은 우수하나, 현탁액형 주입재에 비하여 강도와 내구성이 현저하게 떨어지기 때문에 지반강도증대 및 차수효과를 얻기가 어렵다. 그러므로 현탁액형 그라우팅의 침투성 향상과 경제성을 고려하여 현장에서 초미립화된 주입재를 제조하는 분쇄기술의 실용화가 절실히 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현장에서 적용될 수 있는 습식분쇄기를 이용하여 피분쇄물의 물시멘트비와 분쇄장비의 분쇄시간과 분쇄속도를 조정하여 최적분쇄능력을 파악하고 피분쇄물의 점도, 침투성 및 일축압축강도 등과 같은 제조인자별 물리적 특성을 평가하였다. 또한, 보통포틀랜드시멘트를 현장에서 초미립화 할 수 있는 마이크로 습식분쇄기와, 뭉쳐진 입자를 강제로 분리할 수 있는 고속전단믹서를 현장에 적용하여 전기비저항탐사와 변수위투수시험으로 주입효과의 변화를 검토하였다. 그 결과 침투효과가 대단히 우수하였고 고속전단믹서를 사용한 경우 주입재의 입자분리가 뛰어남을 알 수 있었다.

암반상 토노반 구간에서의 공진 속도 및 주파수에 대한 이론적 연구 (Theoretical Study for the Resonance Speed and Frequency in Roadbed on the Base Rock)

  • When the high-speed train running on the track, there is a speed band which track distortion is unusually increased according to the condition of track and roadbed. This speed is called critical velocity and physical parameter value increased greatly. These phenomenon happened as high-speed train were developed, studied regularly through TGV 100 running test in France. As research result until now, the main reason is soft roadbed's capacity. Wave propagation and track support capacity is varied by the site characteristics. This paper achieved theoretical examination about resonance band(speed and frequency) that occurred in roadbed on the base rock in point of geotechnical engineering. The examination of resonance divides with ground response analysis, critical band analysis by the shear wave velocity of roadbed, train critical speed through the ground stratum.
