  • Recently the demand of motor for industrial household machinery is increasing. As Switching devices and control technology are progressing so the use of BLDC Motor is increasing But 3-Phase BLDC Motor generally used has pulsating torque and speed variation in commutation so the range of it's application is limited high speed application Especially to solve these problems it is necessary to increase phase to Motor so study of Poly-Phase BLDC Motor is progressing. In this paper we designed 7-Phase BLDC Motor drive system and MSTC(Minimum Switching Time Controller)

  • In this paper, the authors propose a new high performance Built-in Type spindle motor drive using vector-controlled technique at 15,000 r/min. Control method is changed by variation of motor speed in a conventional Built-in type spindle drive. In the drive system to be presented, the conventional vector control is used in the low-speed range, and the vector control without encoder is used in the high-speed range. Furthermore, in order to drive the motor from 0 to 15,000 rpm smoothly, the vector control with encoder in the low-speed range (from 0 to 8,000 rpm) is utilized and the vector control without encoder in the high-speed range (from 8,000 to 15,000 rpm) is utilized. This paper describes problem of control method in conventional spindle drive and proposes control method as variation of motor speed

  • This paper presents a design technique to improve the power density and efficiency of a permanent magnet high-speed motor by using the mono-PM rotor. The suggested model minimized rotor diameter and stack length which have a bad influence on shafting in the high-speed operation. Conventional and suggested motors are analyzed and compared by using FEM(Finite Element Method) to verify the effectiveness. The overall performance such as torque, losses, efficiency and power density and so on are investigated in detail. The results of the analysis deduced that the suggested mono-PM rotor design is superior to the conventional one.

  • The Super High-Speed Motor is a turbo machine which operates at high speed, so air foil bearings suit their purpose as bearing elements. The rotordynamic stability was predicted using the numerical analysis of air foil bearings. From this study, the stability of rotor of the Super High-Speed Motor was confirmed by campbell diagram and logarithmic decrement.

  • For permanent magnet brushless DC motors used for high speed fuel pumps, torque ripple is an important origin of vibration, acoustic noise and speed fluctuation. In this paper, the output torque profile of a PM motor with one phase energized is decomposed into the commutation torque, the reluctance torque and the armature reaction torque according to their source origins. It verifies that the output torque profile is qualitatively equivalent to the BEMF profile for low reluctance motors. This paper discusses the effect of magnet pole shaping and magnet arc length on the output torque and torque ripple. A magnet edge shaping is proposed to design a trapezoidal BEMF motor without torque ripple, with minimal sacrifice of the maximum output torque.

  • This paper presents a PM type BLDC(Brushless DC) Motor servo drive system using high performance DSP TMS320F2812. The DSP controller with 150MIPS enables an enhanced real time implementation and increased efficiency and high performance for motor drive. The suggested drive system consists of PI action for the constant speed control and PID action for the current control with only 3 Halls, no encoders. The developed servo drive control system shows a good response speed characteristics at high speed up to 10000 [rpm].

  • This paper presents the implementation and experimental investigation of sensorless speed control for a variable-speed PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) in super-high speed compressor operation. The proposed control scheme consists of two different sensorless algorithms to guarantee the reliable starting operation in low speed region and full torque characteristics using the vector control in high speed region. An automatic switching technique between two control modes is proposed to minimize the speed and torque pulsation during the switching instant of control mode. A testing system of 3.3㎾ PMSM has been built and 90% load test results at 7000r/min are presented to examine the feasibility of proposed sensorless control scheme.

  • A lot of rotating machines are being used in the industrial world and electric motor and generator take the most part of it. When it comes to the electric motor and generator, we can not help thinking about the eddy current because it brings a loss of electric and can be a important reason of the heat generation. To attenuate eddy current. laminated silicon steel sheets are being used in general. Especially, laminated rotor is being used for rotating part of the electric motor and generator and it decreases electrical loss and heat generation but we can be faced with another problem. In general, most of the motor and generator can be normally operated under 3600rpm because they are designed to have the first critical speed more than that speed. But nowadays, they should be operated more than the first critical speed as usual with the trend of high speed. large scale and high precision in industrial world. The critical speed can be determined from the inertia and stiffness for the rotor and bearing of rotating systems. The laminated rotor stiffness can be hardly determined because it can be derived a lot factors for instance rotor material and shape. lamination material and shape. insulation material. lamination force and so on. In this paper, the change of the natural frequency of the motor was examined with the change of the lamination force as an experimental method.

  • Recently linear motor has been used mainly for high speed feeding performance of machine tools. The advantages of linear motor are not only high speed but high accuracy, because it is not required the coupling and ballscrew for converting rotary to liner motion. Before applying in different moving system, the dynamometer is necessary to test the performance. In Korea, the linear motor is producing in a couple of company However, the liner motor dynamometer is not commercialized yet, like as rotary motor dynamometer. In this paper, a linear motor dynamometer is designed and manufactured using a MR damper. The dynamometer system developed in this study could be used for testing the positioning accuracy fur different loading conditions, traction forces, dynamic performance and so on.
