This Study is to into fuel using a torrefation reaction to food waste. When the fuel of only food waste alone, fuel value is was performed at a ratio of sewage sludge constant attempts to prevent low. Mixing ratios of food waste and sewage sludge, 10:0, 8:2, 6:4, 5:5. Regardless mixing ratio, it was possible to confirm that decreases the moisture content of 10% or less at a reaction temperature of $240^{\circ}C$ or higher. As the ratio of the reaction temperature and the sewage sludge is high, the fixed carbon content is increased. It was measured at up to 36%(mixing ratios6:4, reaction temperature $270^{\circ}C$) from the initial 1.1%. From the reaction temperature $240^{\circ}C$ satisfied with 3000Kcal/Kg or more is a SRF criteria shows the calorific value. It was possible to obtain a heating value that is increased from the raw sample approximately sextuple. As reaction temperature is heightened, Van krevelen Diagram moved to the range of Lignite range. It was possible to obtain high fuel ratio and 5,500Kcal/kg or less of a combustility index as the sewage sludge mixing ratio becomes high. Increase the fixed carbon content, than those food waste alone solid fuel into and improved fuel costs, it is necessary to ensure that the quality of the fuel is improved.
Fermentation waste from beer production was applied to a newly developed upland soil to evaluate the effect of lime added sludge on corn growth. The mineralization of lime added sludge was faster than that of raw sludge without lime treatment in the upland condition. It was accelerated by low C/N ratio and high lime content in the lime added sludge. The plant growth and yields of corn increased as the sludge application rate increased and so was nitrogen and organic matter contents in soil. Ammonium volatilization is considered to be high in the lime added sludge and thus the raw sludge is more promising as an organic sources.

Several physical and chemical methods have been used for remediation contaminated by oils. However the cost was very high and secondary pollution rose during treating. The purpose of this study was to comprision TPH (total petroleum hydrocarbon) removal from artificially contaminated soil by diesel with and without seeding anaerobic digested sludge. After 120 days of overall at 35$^{\circ}C$, removal efficiency of TPH with seeding sludge was 2-3 times higher than blank. Also, the more amount seeding sludge, TPH removal efficiency and CH$_4$ content more obtained. It was sad that seeding of anaerobic digested sludge was a good method for enhancing TPH removal efficiency without increasing operating cost. Sulfate, nitrate-reducing, methanogenic condition were evaluated for alkane, isoprenoid as target contaminated soil.

Three types of sludges including printing paper, newsprint and tissue paper were prepared at 5% concentration for filtration-expression operations. Filtration-expression characteristics of sludge were measured in different pressure and wastepaper powder dosage. Specific filtration resistance and porosity were calculated with theoretical formula. Higher pressure increased the progresses of filtration and expression while it decreased porosity. The addition of 5% wastepaper powder more accelerated the progresses of filtration and expression than that of 10% wastepaper powder. The lowest porosity value was also measured at 5% dosage of wastepaper powder. The decrease of porosity implied the decrease of moisture content in cake. The results indicated that dewatering of sludge was efficient in high pressure and 5% dosage of wastepaper powder.

In this study, an experiment of sewage sludge dewatering is carried by using electrokinetic method, and the electrokinetic dewatering efficiency of digested sludge is analyzed. Digested sludge without coagulants is selected and gravitational and pressing dewatering methods are applied in combination with electro-osmotic and electro-osmotic pulse technology. After the test of digested sludge, dewatering test of thickened sludge is carried to evaluate the electrokinetic dewatering feasibility of thickened sludge. Under the condition of constantly applied voltage, however, electrical resistance increases with decreasing of water content so that dewatering rate decreases with time. To reduce such a hindrance caused by constantly applied voltage, electro-osmotic pulse technology which is considered to reduce the difference of water content with height, is applied. For the application of electro-osmotic pulse, the dewatered flow rate and the dewatered volume became more increasing from the middle of the dewatering process than that of continuous voltage. Through the test of thickened sludge, electro-osmotic dewatering combined with gravitational and expression also showed high dewatering rate, which proved the possibility of using electrokinetic dewatering.

On the international provision on prohibition of ocean dumping of waste, tap water sludge has been buried or recycled on th low value added product as landfill. Due to the tap water sludge having high inorganic content, differing from the sewage sludge, it is possible to use as a usable resource by suitable process. We have studied on hydro thermal processing of tap water sludge with phosphoric acid and finally synthesize a artificial zeolite having a deodorization property. To use it as a building material, it has to be solidification. This study is on the properties of artificial zeolite synthsized and solidification properties by various types of solidifier. It is showed that the slaked lime is the best on setting property and its optimum content is 30-60 weight proportion. Solid by solidified by slaked lime has low strength and excellent deodorization performance, so it is possible to use as a functional pannel as gypsum board.

The water content of dewatered cake produced from belt press dewatering equipment was about 75 wt% which was some high to handle it, so the equipment contained a limit at the economical and environmental aspect. The thermal dewatering equipment built as an alternative to overcome several problems was set up at the sludge treatment field and estimated some feasibility as comparison with the dewatering performance of belt press. First, dewatering properties of waterworks sludge was analyzed by monthly. The sludge of a water shortage season contained a high organic content which led to be difficult to dewater the cake, the other side the sludge of rainwater season was ease to dewater because of low organic content. According to the results to analysis the water content of dewatered cake produced from two equipments on the base of the seasonal dewatering properties, the water content of dewatered cake produced from thermal dewatering for sludge of water shortage season was $41.6{\sim}48.3$ wt% and $71{\sim}84$ wt% from belt press. In the case of rainwater season, the water content of dewatered cake produced from thermal dewatering was $34{\sim}37.7$ wt% and $57{\sim}70$ wt% from belt press. It was understood that thereduction of water content of cake by thermal dewatering was larger than belt press. The economical aspect for two equipments was evaluated on considering the reduction of cake treatment amount as the decrease of water content of cake. When putting the cost index of thermal dewatering into 100, belt press was 121. This meant that thermal dewater was more economical than belt press by about 20% in the side of construction and operation. In conclusion, thermal dewatering equipment was estimated by producing the low water content dewatered cake as well as being operated with low coat.
In order to know the effect of sludge from water treatment plants un agricultural environment, an experiment of water treatment sludge application for Altari radish (Raphanus sativus L.) was carried out. And the results were as follows ; 1. The pH of water treatment sludge was 7.2, which was higher than that of the experimental soil. The exchangeable Ca content in the sludge was very high being 29me/100g sludge. So when the sludge was applied to the soil, amending effect for soil acidity was supposed. 2. With the application of the water treatment sludge to the soil, soil pH and organic matter content were increased. With the increase of the level of sludge application, contents of crude fiber and Ca in Altari radish were increased, white those of P and Mg tended to decrease. 3. The length of the root and the amount of fresh yield of the whole plant of radish tended to increase with the increase of sludge application, and this tendency was more evident on the infertile soil. From the above results, it was concluded that the fresh yield of Altari radish increased up to 75ton/ha sludge application on the fertile soil, but the yield decreased when higher levels of sludge was applied. While on the infertile soil, the yield increased up to the application of 300ton/ha, and the heavier application level did not adversely affect the yield of Altari radish.

This work was initiated both to maximize purity of calcium fluoride sludge and to minimize water content in the settled sludge. The sludge was produced in the process of fluoride removal of semiconductor wastewater by the addition of $Ca^{2+}$ ion. Fludized bed reactor(FBR) using calcium fluoride as a seed was adapted. Optimum pH and molar ratio of $Ca^{2+}/F^-$ were determined in lab-scale study. The experimental results showed that fluoride removal was increased as pH and molar ratio of $Ca^{2+}/F^-$ increased, with the best removal of 79.8% in an optimum condition. In the optimum point of fluoride removal, very low ${PO_4}^{3-}$-P removal of 9.3% was observed. It indicates forming $CaF_2$ crystal of high purity, when side reaction of calcium with phosphate was minimized. In addition, water content of settled sludge was 19.3%, which is relatively low compared to other fluoride removal processes. Consequently, the FBR process proposed in this study was very effective in fluoride removal, producing good sludge of high purity and less water content.

demand for a low-cost treatment technology is high because the sewage sludge has an 80% or higher water content and a high energy consumption cost. This study apply the thermal hydrolysis reaction that consumes a small amount of energy for sludge treatment. The purpose of this study is to quantify the viscosity of sewage sludge according to reaction temperature. we measured continuously the torque of dewatered sludge by the reaction temperature. As the reaction temperature increased, the dewatered sludge is thermal hydrolysis under a high temperature and pressure. Therefore, the bond water in the sludge cells comes out as free water, which changes the dewatered sludge from a solid phase to slurry of a liquid phase. The results of the viscosity measurements according to the reaction temperature showed that the viscosity was very high at $270,180kg/m{\cdot}sec$ at a temperature of 293K, but rapidly decreased with increases in the reaction temperature to $12kg/m{\cdot}sec$ at a temperature of 400K and to $4kg/m{\cdot}sec$ at a temperature of 460K or higher, similar to the changes in the viscosity of water. And we was obtained the viscosity function of boundary condition for the optimal design of thermal hydrolysis reactor by numerical modeling based on the this results.
