환경에 따른 헤드/디스크 인터페이스의 마찰 특성 (Tribological Characteristics of Head/disk Interface under Various Environmental Conditions)

  • It is essential that hard disk drives perform reliable under various temperature, humidity, and ambient pressure conditions. In this paper the tribological characteristics of a head/disk interface are investigated under various environmental conditions. Specially, Contact-Start-Stop(CSS) tests were performed to assess the stiction and slider take-off behavior. It is shown that the surface damage is accelerated by high temperature and humidity as well as low ambient pressure.

태양복사 및 기상요소의 고농도 오존형성에 대한 상관성 분석 (Correlation analysis of solar radiation and meteorological parameters on high ozone concentration)

  • The concerns on high ozone concentration phenomenon is significantly growing in Seoul metropolitan area including the industry complex area, like Shiwha Banwol area. The aims of this research is the analysis of relationship between high concentrations of $O_3$ and solar radiation parameters in atmosphere. The understanding of the effects of solar radiation intensity, humidity, high air temperature on ozone concentration in a day is very useful to provide a direction for reducing of the high ozone concentration to a local government or a metropolitan government. The correlation analysis between maximum ozone concentration and various meteorological parameters in 2009 - 2011 carried out using IBM's SPSS program. The results showed that the mean correlations coefficient (R) between daily Ozone maximum and solar radiation resulted R = 0.64 during 2011. May - September in 10 air pollution stations. In case of correlations between daily ozone maximum and relative humidity showed negative correlation R = -0.61. The correlation analysis with mean air temperature during 1-3 PM resulted R = 0.29. This low correlation coefficient could be corrected by using of categorized data of ozone concentration. The daily maximum ozone concentration is more dependent on peak solar radiation and high air temperature during 1-3 PM than its simple daily maximum values. The results of this research would be used to develop the high ozone alert system around Seoul metropolitan area. This correlation analysis could be partially integrated to prediction of ozone peak concentration in connection with other methods like classification and regression tree(CART).

A Seasonal Indoor Thermal Conditions of a Newly-launched Training Ship

  • The living performances of crews and passengers in cabins have been less received attention, while Korea is a top leading country in ship building industry. To develop a high value added ships like 5-star cruisers, researches on the comfort and productivity in cabins should be carried out with urgent. The purpose of this study is to measure and analyze of the ship's indoor thermal conditions in spring, summer and winter, and also to compare the seasonal differences, of which conditions are supplied from and controlled by marine HVAC The temperature, humidity and air supply volume of 5 different needs of cabins on a training ship were measured through a year, which was launched at Dec. 2005 and totally 246 crews can go on board for education. The following results were obtained: (1)In the spring, the temperature in cabins was measured as $20{\sim}25^{\circ}C$ and humidity was below 30%. (2)In the summer, the temperatures was controlled at $21{\sim}27^{\circ}C$ in almost cabins and humidity was between $40{\sim}60%$ which is known as comfort conditions. (3)In the winter, temperature and humidity was maintained between $19{\sim}26^{\circ}C$, and humidity was between $10{\sim}50%$. (4)It is clear that the humidity conditions in cabins are not properly controlled at all through a year to satisfy the Comfort Standards provided by ASHRAE and/or ISO, In conclusion, humidification and dehumidification of cabins must be treated with importance for more comfort living and working environments for crews and passengers.

동계 이중외피와 내부식재에 의한 실내 온도 특성에 관한 연구 (The Characteristics of the winter season window and indoor temperature due to the indoor plant)

  • Purpose: This study desires to investigate an effect of indoor temperature, humidity, and illuminance targeting a planting system of double-skin facade and cavity space adjacent to the outside within a certain period of winter. Through this, the study suggests a basic material about an energy conservation effect of double window system using planting to reduce heating load of a building in winter, so desires to contribute to indoor thermal comfort effect and illuminance correction study of double window and indoor plant. Method: Considering effects such as day and night climatic elements and air conditions in winter, illuminance measurement was conducted through a double-skin facade of space, a subject of the measurement, on the basis of practical residence time of a resident, and this study analyzed characteristics of indoor illuminance about this. The study measured and compared a change of insolation, dry-bulb temperature, and relative humidity at each indoor-outdoor measuring point, so measured and compared characteristics of an indoor temperature effect by elements of double-skin facade and indoor plant. Result: Through this study, the researcher could determine that indoor plant within double window in winter not only blocks solar radiation but also photosynthesizes, so is somewhat disadvantageous to winter thermal comfort reducing heating load. In addition, solar radiation going through interior plays a role to bring down somewhat high humidity to about 50% of reasonable humidity, so plays a direct role of maintenance of comfortable indoor space. Although there are effects such as blocking of solar radiation and temperature reduction, this has a positive influence on humidity control and proper illuminance distribution. The researcher could determine that illuminance, temperature, and humidity by solar radiation penetration for the whole measuring time play a role to supplement indoor environment mutually.

농산물 포장용 골판지상자의 층적내구성의 분석과 향상에 관한 연구(I) -수분흡습특성과 압축강도열화- (Improvement and Analysis of Stacking Durability of Corrugated Fiberboard Boxes for Agricultural Products -Moisture Absorption Properties and Compressive Strength Reduction-)

  • Major factors in reducing the stacking strength of corrugated fiberboard boxes in cold storage or transport conditions are high relative humidity, causing elevated moisture absorption by the boxes. The bottom boxes in a stack will deform to the critical deflection causing agricultural products damage there, and eventually additional deflection will cause box collapse and finally toppling of the stack. The study was conducted to determine the water absorption characteristics and the compressive strength of the corrugated fiberboard boxes being widely used in packaging agricultural products in Korea. The sample boxes for the study were selected from the regular slotted containers (RSC) types, and one was the box used in apple packaging (Box A), another one was the box used in pear packaging (Box B). The corrugated shipping containers were made from a large portion of recycled fibers in Korea, and comparing with Box B, Box A was fabricated from fiberboard which contained more percentage of old corrugated containers (OCC) imported from foreign countries than domestic waste paper. The results obtained from the study were summarized as follows ; 1. Equilibrium moisture content (EMC) of the sample boxes was established after about 20 hours, and the EMC by absorption was lower than that by desorption. The EMC increased with the increasing of relative humidity and with the decreasing of temperature, and the rate of increasing was much higher above the relative humidity of 50%. 2. The maximum compressive strength of Box A was about 100 kgf greater than that of Box B on the same enviromental conditions. The strength of the sample boxes decreased rapidly with the increasing of relative humidity. The effect of relative humidity on the strength was a little higher than that of temperature. 3. As the applied load was progressively increased and a level was reached, the vertical side panels ($L{\times}D$) deflected laterally inwards or outwards. The panels deflected laterally inwards at higher relative humidity. 4. The maximum compressive deflection ratio and the critical deflection ratio of the sample boxes were increased linearly with the increasing of relative hunidity, but trends for its ratios showed inconsistant response to temperature.

  • 본 연구는 고분자 전해질 연료전지 (PEMFC)의 성능에 매우 중요한 영향을 미치는 물의 분포를 실험적으로 측정하였다. 내부에서 일어나는 활발한 화학반응과 물질전달 특성 때문에 PEMFC 내부에서 수분의 분포가 불균일하며 그 분포를 실험적으로 측정하기가 용이하지 않아 그 동안 간접적인 측정이 많이 이루어졌다. 본 연구에서는 초소형 온습도 센서를 연료전지의 채널에 직접 삽입하고 채널을 따라 흐르는 반응가스의 습도를 측정하였다. 수소극과 공기극 중 한곳만 가습하며, 가습하지 않은 곳에서 습도를 측정하여 멤브레인을 통한 물의 이동을 연구하였다. 가습기의 온도가 증가할수록 양극의 물농도 구배가 커져서 확산이 증가하나 높은 전류밀도에서는 전기삼투항력의 영향이 더욱 커졌다.

포스포늄 염을 포함한 폴리스티렌 공중합체의 감습 성질 (Humidity Sensitive Properties of Copolymers of Polystyrene Contains Phosphonium Salts)

  • Vlnylbenzyl triphenyl phosphonim chloride (VTPC) 단량체를 감습막으로 사용하기 위하여 합성하였다. 감습막 성분은 서로 다른 조성의 VTPC와 스티렌의 공중합체(VTPC : ST=1 : 0, 7 : 3, 1 : 1, 3 : 7)들이며 감습막의 상대 습도 변화에 대한 전기적 성질의 변화를 측정하였다. 임퍼던스는 감습막중 VTPC의 함량이 증가할수록 감소하였으며, 또한 전극위에 도포한 감습막의 두께가 증가하면 임퍼던스 역시 감소하였다. 감습막중 VTPC와 ST의 성분비가 1대 1인 감습막의 임피던스는 상대습도 70~90%RH 범위에서 12M$\Omega$에서 100K$\Omega$ 사이에서 변하였으며 고습이나 결로를 감지할 수 있는 센서로서 응용이 가능하였다. 15$^{\circ}C$~35$^{\circ}C$범위에서의 은도 의존상수는 -0.5%RH/$^{\circ}C$이었으며 히스테리시스는 $\pm$2%RH의 범위 안에서 나타났다. 응답속도는 상대습도가 75%RH에서 95RH%까지 또는 역으로 변화할 때 40초이었다.

기상조건이 하수발생량 및 하수처리장 운전인자에 미치는 영향에 관한 통계적 분석 (Study on the Relationship between Weather Conditions, Sewage and Operational Variables of WWTPs using Multivariate Statistical Methods)

  • Generally, the rainfall and the influent of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) have strong relationship at the case of combined sewers. With the fact that the influent variations in terms of quantity and sewage quality is the most common and significant disturbance, the impact factor to the characteristics of sewage should be searched for. In this paper, the relationship between weather conditions such as humidity, temperature and rainfall and influent flowrate and contaminant concentration was analysed using factor analysis. Additionally, 3 influent types were deduced using cluster analysis and the distributions of operational variables were compared to the each groups by one-way ANOVA. The applied dataset were clustered to three groups that have the similar weather and influent conditions. These different conditions can cause the different operating conditions at WWTPs. That is, the Group 1 is for the condition with high humidity and rainfall, so DO concentration in the reactor was very high but MLSS concentration was very low because of too large flowrate. However, the Group 3 is classified to the case having low humidity, temperature, and rainfall, therefore, the SRT was the longest and the SVI was the highest due to the worst settleability in the winter for a year.

WC/C 박막 코팅의 환경변화에 따른 트라이볼로지적 특성 (Tribological characteristics of WC/C multilayer films with various environments)

  • The friction and wear behaviors of WC/C multilayer coating were investigated by using a pin on disk type tester. The experiment was conducted by using silicon nitride (S $i_{3}$ $N_{4}$) as a pin material and WC/C multilayer coating on bearing steel (STB2) as a disk material, under various environments that are atmospheric conditions of high vacuum( 1,3$\times$10$^{-4}$ Pa), medium vacuum( 1.3$\times$10$^{-l}$Pa). ambient air( 10$^{5}$ pa)(3 types) and relative humidity(2~98%) conditions. The results showed that WC/C coating fracture was suddenly increased with increasing degree of vacuum, because of high adhesion. So, WC/C coating could not be displayed their ability as solid lubricant. WC/C coating could be displayed better abilitv as solid lubricant with increasing relative humidity. because of oxide film, size and shape of wear debris. The friction coefficient and specific wear rate became better about RH 50%.%.
