This experiment was carried out to improve the quality of high absorbent polymer which has excellent absorptivity and water retention compared to pulp and absorption sheet, through absorption characteristics-absorptive power, water retention, absorption rate, gel strength, pH, particle size, and moisture content. - of six polymers, namely, anionic polyacrylamide, cationic polyacrylamide, polyacrylic, acid polyvinyle alcohol 500, and 1500, and a-cellulose. and to examine the possibility of substitution of amide groups for carboxyl group and/or hydroxyl group which were commercial high absorbent polymer by comparing the absorption characteristics of the polymers. Polyacrylamide has high absorptive power and water retention, but has low gel strength and poor absorption rate. The rest of polymers were similiar to ${\alpha}$-cellulose in every respect. Thus, polyacrylamides could be replaced with polyacrylic acid and polyvinyl alcohol which are presently a high absorbent polymers. In comparing the absorption characteristics and the absorptive power of the polymers-anionic polyacrylamide, cationic polyacrylamide, polyacrylic acid, polyvinyle alcohol. a-cellulose-the absorptive power was in inverse proportion to the gel strength and absorption rates, affected by the particle size and pH change.
The capture of $SO_2$ at or close to the temperatures of real flue gas is much more attractive in application. In this work, two kinds of ionic liquids (ILs) based on lactate anion were used to absorb $SO_2$ at high temperatures from 100 to $120^{\circ}C$. The ILs show high absorption capacities of over one mol $SO_2$ per mol IL at $110^{\circ}C$. The absorption of $SO_2$ by the ILs based on lactate anion is reversible and the ILs can be reused for the capture of $SO_2$ at high temperatures with high absorption capacity and thermal stability. Furthermore, the absorption mechanism of $SO_2$ by the ILs was studied by FT-IR, $^1H$ NMR and $^{13}C$ NMR spectra. It has been found that there are strong chemical interactions between the ILs and $SO_2$. Also the absorption mechanism is different when there is water present in ILs compared to when there is not.

In this study, we developed a pressing device which can reproduce the pressure of concrete inside the conveying pipe as a part of the basic study to development of high fluidity concrete under high pressure pumping. Using this pressing device, we evaluated a absorption properties of aggregate that are crushed coarse aggregate, river gravel and lightweight coarse aggregate according to pressure of coarse aggregate and aggregate inside a high fluidity concrete, focused on the reduction of unit water quantity by pressure. In addition, it was evaluated the compressive strength of high fluidity concrete about before and after of pressive. Test a result, case of condition under the high pressure of 250 bar, absorption ratio of crushed coarse aggregate and river gravel were not increased above the surface absorption, absorption ratio of lightweight coarse aggregate was increased than the surface absorption.
Honeycomb panel has a constructive advantage because it is constructed with a honeycomb core, so it has relatively higher strength ratio to weight. Therefore honeycomb panel has been used as the light weight panels in the high-speed railway technology and high-speed ship like as cruise yachts. Also it has been used in the aircraft and aerospace industry as a structural panel because light weight structure is indispensible in that field of industry. Recently, the honeycomb panel is embossed in the viewpoints of high oil prices as the lightweight panel of the transport machine, however the sound insulation capacity of the honeycomb panel is poorer than those of uniform and another sandwich panels. In this paper a method to improving the sound absorption coefficient of a honeycomb panel Is studied by using the Helmholtz resonator. The sound absorption coefficients for some kinds of honeycomb cores are demonstrated by the normal incident absorption coefficient method.
The purpose of this study is to verify the interaction between food and ampicillin which is one of the aminopenicillins known to be absorbed by a specified dipeptide transporter in the small intestine. The absorption of ampicillin was measured in the presence of the high carbohydrate food, high fat food, and high protein food, and compared with that in the presence of the control normal food. In situ single-pass perfusion method was chosen in these experiments using two jejunal segments in the rat. Reduction in the absorption of ampicillin was not shown, when both high carbohydrate food and high fat food were co-perfused with ampicillin. When the high protein food was co-perfused with ampicillin, the difference of $C_{out}/C_{in}$ of ampicillin ratio was $0.084\;{\pm}\;0.082$, showing a trend of reduced absorption without a significance. Further, glyclysarcosine (Gly-Sar) which is a stable dipeptide in the small intestine was used in order to see the direct competitive inhibition with ampicillin on the dipeptide transporter. The difference of $C_{out}/C_{in}$ ratio was $0.078\;{\pm}\;0.020$ in the presence of 10 mM Cly-Sar, showing a significant inhibition of ampicillin absorption (p < 0.02). It suggests that dietary di- and tripeptides, the digestive products of protein food, might have influence on the absorption of ampicillin, and that ampicillin could be given at the lasting state for better absorption.

Absorbers such as porous materials and panels have limited absorption characteristics to some frequency bands. There is a need for absorbers with high absorption coefficients in a wide frequency ranges to make good response of room acoustics. This is almost impossible for a single absorption material. Composite absorption structure with cover, porous material. and air gap is known to have those wide frequency characteristics. In this basis. various composite absorption structures are measured and investigated as wide range absorption structures. Measurements are performed according to an international standard, ISO 354. Various surface types such as wooden slits, wood/steel perforated panels are selected as surface covers, and also various porous materials such as polyurethanes, polyesters, and glasswools are used inside the covers. Result shows that the area of void parts of surface materials is critical to high frequency absorptions, and thickness of air gaps are critical factor of the peak absorptions of low frequency bands.
Single sound absorbers such as porous materials, panels, and Helmholts resonators have limited performance with some extents of frequency region. For example, porous materials do not attenuate low frequency sounds, while panels do not absorb high frequency sounds. Composite absorption structure with coverings, porous materials, and air gaps are an alternative for wide band sound absorption. Slits, panels, perforated panels are those materials for coverings, glass wool, mineral wool, polyester, and polyurethane are frequently used porous materials. Air gap between the porous material and background surface is one of major factors which governs the absorption characteristics of composite absorption structures, especially in the low frequency area. Calculations and measurements show that the absorption coefficients of composite absorption structure, in mid and low frequency bands, are getting higher with increased air gaps. Perforated panels rather than slits and panels are good coverings with higher number as far as absorption coefficient is concerned. Perforated panels with porous materials and 37 cm of air gaps in background have high absorption coefficients for all frequency bands, above 0.7 to 1.0. All measurements are performed in reverberation chamber, Mokpo National University, according to ISO 354 and ISO 3382.
This paper presents the effects of high temperature and water absorption on the mechanical behaviors of carbon-aramid fiber composites, specifically their strength, elastic modulus, and fracture. These composites are used in industrial structures because of their high specific strength and toughness. Carbon fiber composites are vulnerable to the impact force of external objects despite their excellent properties. Aramid fibers have high elongation and impact absorption capabilities. Accordingly, a hybrid composite with the complementary properties and capabilities of carbon and aramid fibers is fabricated. However, the exposure of aramid fiber to water or heat typically deteriorates its mechanical properties. In view of this, tensile and flexural tests were conducted on a twill woven carbon-aramid fiber hybrid composite to investigate the effects of high temperature and water absorption. Moreover, a multiscale analysis of the stress behavior of the composite's microstructure was implemented. The results show that the elastic modulus of composites subjected to high temperature and water absorption treatments decreased by approximately 22% and 34%, respectively, compared with that of the composite under normal conditions. The crack behavior of the composites was well identified under the specimen conditions.

This paper aims to study a method to estimate precise carbon absorption by quantification of forest information that uses accurate LiDAR data, hyperspectral image. To estimate precise carbon absorption value by using spatial data, a problem was found out of carbon absorption value estimation method with statistical method, which is already existed method, and then offered optimized carbon absorption estimation method with spatial information by analyzing with methods of compare digital aerial photogrammetry and LiDAR data. It turned out possible Precise classification and quantification in case of using LiDAR and hyperspectral image. Various classification of tree species was possible with use of LiDAR and hyperspectral image. Classification of hyperspectral image was matched in general with field survey and Mahalanobis distance classification method. Precise forest resources could be extracted using high density LiDAR data. Compared with existing method, 19.7% in forest area, 19.2% in total carbon absorption, 0.9% in absorption per unit area of difference created, and improvement was found out to be estimated precisely in international code.

Recently, international standard for measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room has been amended. In the revised version, temperature, humidity and air pressure conditions are strictly restricted and also the concrete procedures are presented to reduce the differences in test results by adding inspection of diffusion, measurement uncertainty etc. In this paper, the systematic tests are conducted based on the inspection guide of diffusion defined by ISO 354 and the effects of diffusers on the measurement of sound absorption ratio are considered. As a result, we perceived that the averaged sound absorption ratio in mid and high frequency range is expected to measure around $0.05{\sim}0.1$ higher in high sound absorption material. Therefore, as for the reverberation room for measurement of sound absorption, we need to take into consideration not only the spatial standard deviation of sound pressure mandated by ISO 3741, but also, inspection regulation of diffusion showed by ISO 354.
