According to the national space program in Korea, is satellites will be launch into space up to 2015. Especially, KARI is going to develope of its own a high resolution camera of less than 1m to be mounted on next Multipurpose Satellite. When performing testing of large spacecraft or hardware that will be launched into orbit, it is necessary to conduct a testing with space-simulated environment. To achieve this requirement, thermal vacuum chamber is generally used. KARI has been developed a very Large Thermal Vacuum Chamber(LTVC) from 2003 to accomodate future space program, such as KOMPSAT, COMS, and Launch vehicles. This new facility will be used to qualify the first self developed High Resolution Camera, which will be loaded on KOMPSAT-3. To perform an optical test for space camera, it is necessary to provide vibration free environment. Thus the vibration responses on the optical table due to external vibration should be minimized by using a special isolation system. In this paper, we propose the concept design of vibration isolation system for the development of the high resolution camera.
A pressure rise is generated while air bearing stages are moving in high vacuum environment. This study analyzed this pressure rise phenomenon theoretically and verified it experimentally using two different kinds of stages - linear and rotary air bearing stages. Results indicate that the pressure rise was caused by additional leakage resulting from stage velocity, along with adsorption and outgassing of gas molecules from the guide rail surface. Though tilting of the stage due to acceleration and deceleration reached several micrometers, it had a negligible effect on pressure rise because the tilting time was very short. Therefore, a rotary air bearing stage showed much less pressure rise than a linear stage because the rotary stage theoretically has nothing to do with the above causes. Additional leakage caused by stage velocity was inevitable if the stage had movements, but pressure rise caused by adsorption and outgassing could be suppressed by improving the surface quality to reduce real surface area, and by coating the guide rail surface with titanium nitride (TiN) which has less adhesion probability of gas molecules. The results also indicate that the pressure rise increased when the air bearing stage operated under high vacuum conditions.
The conduction-cooled HTS SMES is operated in cryogenic and high vacuum condition. Thus, Insulation design at cryogenic temperature and high vacuum is a key and an important element that should be established to accomplish miniaturization that is a big advantage of HTS SMES. Therefore, we need active research and development of insulation concerning application of the conduction-cooled HTS SMES. Therefore, in this study, we experimented about insulation characteristic high vacuum and cryogenic similar to driving condition of SMES system. Also, investigated about insulation characteristic of suitable some materials to insulator for conduction-cooled HTS SMES. As this results, we possessed basis data for insulation materials selection and insulation design for development of 600 kJ class conduction-cooled HTS SMES.
Epitaxial undoped and Sb-doped si films have been grown on Si(001) substrates at temperatures T between 80 and 750$^{\circ}C$ using energetic Si in ultra-high-vacuum Kr+-ion-beam sputter deposition(IBSD). Critical epitaxial thicknesses te, The average thickness of epitaxial layers, in undoped films were found to range from 8nm at Ts=80$^{\circ}C$ to > 1.2 ${\mu}$m at Ts=300$^{\circ}C$ while Sb incorporation probabilities $\sigma$sb varied from unity at Ts 550$^{\circ}C$ to 0.1 at 750$^{\circ}C$. These te and $\sigma$Sb values are approximately one and one-to-three orders of magnitude, respectively, higher than reported results achieved with molecular-beam epitaxy. Plan-view and cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution x-ray diffraction, channeling and axial angular-yield profiles by Rutherford back scattering spectroscopy for epitaxial Si1-x Gex(001) alloy films (0.15$\leq$x$\leq$0.30) demonstrated that the films are of extremely high crystalline quality. critical layer thicknesses hc the film thickness where strain relaxation starts, I these alloys wre found to increase rapidly with decreasing growth temperature. For Si0.70 Ge0.30, hc ranged from 35nm at Ts=550$^{\circ}C$ to 650nm at 350$^{\circ}C$ compared to an equilibrium value of 8nm.
In this study, the characteristics of compressive strength of ultra high strength concrete supplied with moisture from outside by vacuum water absorbing curing method were investigated. Specimens were prepared by replacing the binder(Silifa fume and GGBS) by 25 wt% with respect to the weight of cement at W/B 0.16. Each specimen was subjected to water Vacuum absorbing curing time 0 min, 30 min, 60 min, 90 min and 120 minutes immediately after the demolding. Curing was performed at $20^{\circ}C$ Air-dry curing, $90^{\circ}C$ steam curing, $90^{\circ}C$ steam curing and $180^{\circ}C$ autoclave curing. Experimental results showed that water absorbing degree increased with increasing water absorbing curing time, and BS25 sample had higher water absorbing degree than SF25 sample at same time. Compressive strength tended to increase up to about 40% in water absorbing degree, but compressive strength decreased again in water absorbing more than 40%.
This paper deals with the various sealing conditions in a vacuum and the discharge characteristics. The MgO thin film is prepared by e-beam evaporation method. Sealing process was performed in a vacuum at panel temperature of 430 $^{\circ}C$. We find the cracks on the MgO film surface, which results in higher discharge voltage and lower luminous efficiency. The vacuum in-line sealing technology does not require additional annealing process but induces the MgO cracks because of the high temperature sealing cycle in a vacuum. Therefore we modify the vacuum in-line sealing cycle which the MgO cracks are not found and the good characteristics of plasma displays are found in higher sealing pressure at sealing temperature of 430 $^{\circ}C$.
In a wide variety of high-voltage applications surface flashover plays major role in the system's performance and yet has not been studied in great detail for vacuum conditions with modern diagnostic tools. surface flashover for both direct current and pulsed voltages in considered. within the setup, parameters such as geometry, material characteristics of the applied voltage can be altered. This paper review surface flashover of insulator, primarily in vacuum. It discusses theories and models relating to surface flashover and experimental results. surface flashover of insulators in vacuum generally is initiated by the emission of electrons from the cathode triple junction point (the region where the electrode, insulator, vacuum). the electrode material was copper, and a AC voltage was applied between the electrodes. these results were compared with the surface flashover characteristic of insulator at results, surface flashover influenced only insulator surface condition. and increasing vacuum pressure was risen breakdown voltage.
Vacuum cleaner, one of those household articles, have easily used in our life. Recently vacuum cleaner tends to be compact and portably with high suction power and low noise. As increasing this suction power, the vibration and noise of vacuum cleaner become important problem. To reduce noise efficiently, it is important to identify the noise and the vibration. This pater is to characterize the noise and vibration of a vacuum cleaner.
After stepping into a new field of vacuum 30 years ago, our company has grown up steadily as a specialized vacuum industry, and now we can provide vacuum devices covering most of the pressure range. We are planning to put out high level dry pump like a multistage Roots pump on the market in the near future. Procedures of technology development for designing, fabricating, and testing the multistage Roots pump of 600 L/min class will be briefly reported. Core items of the technical development on the multistage Roots pump are as follows; elaborated profile design of 3-lobe rotors using an involute curve, optimization of rotor dimensions, especially for clearances and rotor width, considering the pumping speed, compression ratio and heat load, and establishment of a standardized test system. At present, the multistage Roots pump is about to come into commercialization.
The purpose of this experiment was to develope Triggered Vacuum Switch (TVS) for the high voltage and high current. The TVS has an array of rods of alternate polarity in which a fixed gap spacing is maintained between the rods. The cross section of each rod has trapezoidal shape. It consists of electrode, ceramic chamber, getter and trigger. Currently, triggered vacuum switch (TVS) with seal-off has been designed and fabricated at PAL. An experimentation and trigger devices for TVS were designed for testing characteristics of electricity. For making the prototype of TVS, it is developed of fabrication process and fined of electrode material. The fabrication of the TVS is a lot of process which have manufacturing of part, chemical clean, ceramic brazing and metal welding. The fabricated TVS is tested of leak for vacuum, hold-off voltage and conditioning of trigger system. The TVS has pinch-off after it is removed of gas in the TVS and activated of getter in degassing furnace. The prototype TVS tested about 20 kV, 75 kA, 83 ${\mu}s$ with 100 kJ capacitor bank and inductance 5 ${\mu}H$. This paper describes the results of tests and the characteristics of the switch.
