초음속 연소 실험을 위한 연소식 공기 가열기 출구 유동 조건 실험 연구 (A Study on the Flow Conditions of the Combustion Air Heater Outlet for the Supersonic Combustion Experiment)

  • 본 연구에서는 직접 연결식 초음속 연소기의 지상 시험 장치에 고온, 고압 공기 공급을 위한 연소식 공기 가열기를 설계 및 제작하였으며, 목표 설계점 만족 여부를 검증하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 연소식 공기 가열기 노즐 출구의 상부 경계, 하부 경계 및 중앙에 쐐기를 설치하여 마하수가 2.0 수준을 만족하는 것을 확인하였으며, 연소실 내부 압력 또한 설계점과 비교하여 만족할만한 수준으로 나타났다. 온도의 경우 열전대의 노출되는 정도와 느린 응답 특성에 의해 측정된 온도의 편차가 크게 나타났다. 이후 연소식 공기 가열기 후방에 격리부를 연결하고 동일한 방법으로 마하수를 측정하였으며, 격리부 출구 중앙의 마하수는 1.8~1.9 정도로 소폭 감소하였다.

  • Staged combustion cycle engines are well known to have high combustion efficiencies and specific impulse. In this study, design of mixing head part of combustion chamber for 8tonf class staged combustion cycle rocket engine (ES-08) was performed. Structural stability of the mixing head part of the combustion chamber is very important design factor because it is loaded by high temperature and high pressure of fuel and oxidizer as well as by thrust load simultaneously. Uniformity of flow distributions of the propellants to the injectors is also important factor. First, a basic configuration for the ES-08 mixing head part was designed on the basis of the structural design requirements. And then, the structural analyses were performed on the basic configuration as well as some of reinforced configurations. As the structural analyses results, the most stable configuration was selected for the ES-08 mixing head part. In order to examine the uniformity of the flow distributions of the propellants through the manifold of the mixing head, flow analysis was performed based on the selected configuration. The results of the flow analysis showed that the fuel and the oxidizer were uniformly supplied to the injector.

충격파관을 이용한 메탄/산소 혼합기의 점화지연시간 측정 (Measurement of Ignition Delay Time of Methane/Oxygen Mixtures by Using a Shock Tube)

  • Ignition delay time of methane/oxygen mixture is measured experimentally with the shock tube in order to obtain the data for high pressure conditions where gas turbines and internal combustion engines are operating. The shock tube experiment is validated first over the temperature range of 1400-2000 K at 10 bar and with the various equivalence ratios of 0.5, 1 and 2. The measured ignition delays are compared with the data from the literatures. And then, experiments are conducted for non-explored conditions, i.e., at 40 bar and with the equivalence ratio of 1.5. The present experimental data show a good agreement with the available ones from the literatures and reasonable dependence on pressure and equivalence ratio. In addition, the effects of the temperature and equivalence ratio on ignition delay time are analyzed.

  • TixZr1-xC(0$0^{\circ}C$, 5.1 mm/sec respectively. The relative density, three point flexural strength, and the hardness of composites, which was sintered at 190$0^{\circ}C$ for 60 min by using hot-pressing under a pressure of 30 MPa, were 99%, 525 MPa and 24 GPa respectively.

Suction과 blow fan을 이용한 연소기내의 부분 예혼합화염 연소 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation on Premixed Combustion Characteristics with Suction & Blow Fans)

  • We measured emission indices for $NO_x$, CO, temperature and radical characteristics for partially premixied flames formed by suction & blow fans air condition. At sufficiently high levels of partial premixing a double flame structure consisting of a rich premixed inner flame and outer diffusion flame was established similar to that previously observed in premixed flames. $NO_x$, Temperature. CO concentration were experimented with approximately constant air flow rate and decreasing equivalence ratios. The reduction in $NO_x$, and temperature at suction condition as compared with that for blow condition was approximately 20%, but on the contrary, CO emission was increased. In addition, We measured temperature distributions and found that temperature increased continuously with increasing partial premixing. We also estimated CH, $C_2$ radical intensity. CH and $C_2$ radicals provide evidence that, for the present measurement, CH and $C_2$ radicals intensity was associsated with their premixed component. And we observed stronger $C_2$, CH radicals intensity at suction conditions than blow conditions.

유동층연소로에서 유연탄과 무연탄의 연소특성 해석 (Analysis of Combustion Characteristics of Bituminous and Anthracite Coal in a Fluidized Bed Combustor)

  • 유연탄과 무연탄 및 유, 무연탄의 연소특성을 해석하기 위하여 내경 0.109 m의 유동층반응기에서 회분석 석탄주입에 따른 유동화특성과 연소특성 실험을 수행하였다. 온도변화곡선, 압력요동특성치를 이용하여 회분식유동층에서 유연탄과 무연탄 및 혼합석탄의 연소특성을 측정하였다. 유연탄과 무연탄의 입자크기, 두 석탄의 혼합비, 유동화매질의 입자크기에 따른 영향을 고찰하였다. 유연탄과 무연탄의 혼합연소시 무연탄의 혼합비가 30 %인 경우가 유연탄의 연소속도 및 연소거동이 최적으로 나타났다. 저품위 고회분 무연탄의 경우 유동화특성보다 연소특성에 의한 영향이 더욱 크게 나타났다. 또한 유동층의 유동화 특성에 의하여 연소거동이 변화됨을 알 수있었다.

  • Optically accessible D. I. diesel engine with a rectangular combustion chamber was constructed to visualize the behaviors of sprays and flames in the combustion camber with the close conditions of pressure and temperature in an actual engine. The behaviors of sprays and flames in the combustion chamber as the operating conditions of this engine were photographed with high speed camera by Diffused Background Illumination Method. With photographs taken by this method, behavior of spray droplets injected into the combustion chamber, ignition points, and flame propagation were observed and analyzed at a time-and space-dependent fashion.

  • Evaporation and combustion characteristics of fuel droplet with carbon nanoparticle were investigated in a rapid compression machine(RCM). RCM is an experimental equipment to simulate one compression stroke of reciprocating engine. Nitrogen was charged into reaction chamber for evaporation experiment, while oxygen was charged for combustion experiment. N990 carbon black and n-heptane were used to synthesize the carbon nanofluids. Surfactant, span80, was used to make synthesis easier. The droplet pictures were taken using a high speed camera with 500 frames per second. Thermocouple, of which tip is $50{\mu}m$, was used not only to measure transient bulk temperature, but also to suspend the droplet. Reaction chamber temperature was calculated from pressure data. The evaporation rate of nanofluids was improved compared to pure fuel. The ignition delay was promoted due to the nanoparticle, but the burning rate was decreased.

Quantitative Vapor Phase Exciplex Fluorescence Measurements at High Ambient Temperature and Pressure

  • The exciplex fluorescence technique with the TMPD (tetamethyl-Ρ-phenylene-diamine) / naphthalene dopant system was applied in a combustion-type constant-volume spray chamber. A detailed set of calibration experiments has been performed in order to quantify the TMPD fluorescence signal. It has been demonstrated that the TMPD fluorescence intensity was directly proportional to concentration, was independent of the chamber pressure, and was not sensitive to quenching by either water vapor or carbon dioxide. Using a dual heated-jet experiment, the temperature dependence of TMPD fluorescence up to 1000 K was measured. The temperature field in the spray images was determined using a simple mixing model, and an iterative solution method was used to determine the concentration and temperature field including the additional effects of the laser sheet extinction. The integrated fuel vapor concentration compared favorably with the measured amount of injected fuel when all of the liquid fuel had evaporated.

고온고압용기에서 충돌분무 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Studies on Impingement Spray Characteristic in High Temperature and Pressure Chamber)

  • The characteristics of spray has much effect on performance and emissions for automobile, diesel engine, gas turbine and combustion engines. So spray behavior after impinging the wall is very important for prediction the engine performance. This studies examined about impingement spray considering ambient density(18,24,30kg/ms), temperature(293,473K), impingement angle(0,30,45°). The images of impingement spray were obtained by the high speed video camera. After that we analyzed impingement spray characteristics to use this images. In this experiment, we found that 1) The spray width is reduced by increasing the ambient gas density and temperature,2) The growth of downstream is increased by increasing the impingement angle.
