Thermal Properties of Ploymide Nanocomposite (전력용 Nanocomposite의 열화학 특성)

  • We have fabricated superconductor ceramics by chemical process. A high Tc superconductor with a nominal composition of ${Bi_2}{Sr_2}{Ca_2}{Cu_3}{O_y}$ was prepared by the organic metal salts method. Experimental results suggest that the intermediate phase formed before the formation of the superconductorphase may be the most important factor. The relation between electromagnetic properties of Bi HTS and external applied magnetic field was studied. The electrical resistance of the superconductor was increased by the application of the external magnetic field. But the increase in the electrical resistance continues even after the removal of the magnetic field. The reason is as followsthe magnetic flux due to the external magnetic field penetrates through the superconductor and the penetrated magnetic flux is trapped after the removal of the magnetic flux.

  • In this paper, we proposed a method to shield perpendicular magnetic fields in high Tc superconductor(HTS) tape of a shell-type HTS transformer with double pancake windings. A diamagnetism of characteristics of superconductor is used to shield magnetic field. For a shielding experiment, a proper shielding model is chosen, and several kinds of HTS are used such as a monofilament HTS tape, two kinds of multifilament HTS tapes and YBCO film disk. The effect of shielding for the perpendicular magnetic field is measured with HTSs for shielding and their utility for shielding is proved.

  • This aim of this study was to develop a process for creating bulk single-crystal YBaCuO superconductors in a high magnetic field. To support the bulk unidirectional growth of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$, $SmBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ seeds were planted inside YBaCuO composites and samples were produced by melting, enabling the growth of two YBaCuO superconductors. Due to the magnetism generated inside the superconductor of the upper sample, the magnetization inside the superconducting single crystals was evenly distributed, the sharpness of the induced magnetic force was improved, and the superconducting magnetization were significantly improved. This approach is widely applicable for the production of superconducting wires and current leads used for DC power breakers.

  • $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ oxide superconductors were fabricated by the hot isostatic pressing (HIP). It was shown that their structures were orthorombic and constited of a single (123) phase. While as-sintered compacts had many pores, they were remarkably reduced by Hiping. The on-set and off set temperature of (123) compound sintered at $950^{\circ}C$ in oxygen and hiping at $880^{\circ}C$ were the highest and it showed 0 resistance at $90^{\circ}K$. The critical current density ($J_c$) of the above superconductor was $27A/cm^2$ and it also showed a number of twin structures, which are typical of high $T_c$ superconductor. It seemed that the low current density may be due to the many pores of starting-sintered compacts.

  • The superconductor characteristics of BSCCO spray films by Heat treatment was studied. $Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_x$(Bi-2212) is high-Tc superconductor(HTS) coatings have been prepared by Heat treatment. Where high current carrying capabilities are required and therefore thick film and bulk material are called for, the Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8-d(Bi-2212)compound has evoleved as one of the most promising. and the Bi-2212 HTS coating layer is synthesized through the peritectic reaction between Sr-Ca-Cu oxide coating layer and Bi-Cu oxide coating layer by partial melting process. The superconducting characteristics depends on the spray distance which was related to the spray particle melt. The Bi-2212 HTS layer consists of the whisker growth and secondary phase in 2212 layer were observed.

  • This paper considers problems which must be overcome to produce long lengths of superconductor wire from the 90K Tc superconducting ceramic material, $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3Ox$. Attention is focused on the powder-in-tube process where the superconducting powder is placed in a tube which is then formed into wire. Two major problems are considered, control of the oxygen level and improvement of Jc in the final wire. The results show that Jc of the wire were $400A/cm^2$ at liquid nitrogen temp.

  • Bi$\_$0.7/Pb$\_$0.3/Sr$_1$Ca$_1$Cu$\_$1.8/Ox thick films were screen printed on magnesia(MgO), silver and yttrium stabilized zirconia (YSZ) substrates and were sintered in a boat with cover to prevent the evaporation. The high-Tc phase increase and the low-Tc phase and Ca$_2$PbO$_4$ decrease with an increase in sintering temperature from 835$^{\circ}C$ to 860$^{\circ}C$. YSZ substrate interact strongly with the oxide resulting in poor superconductor, while the Ag and MgO substrates were satisfactory to make screen printed superconductors. The Bi$\_$0.7/Pb$\_$0.3/Sr$_1$Ca$_1$Cu$\_$1.8/Ox thick films screen printed both on Ag and MgO substrates show high Tc phase of ~85% and Tc of 96K.

  • Superconducting current lead is one of the promising applications of the oxide high-Tc superconductors, because they have the advantage of decreasing heat conduction to low temperature region, comparing with a conventional cooper alloy lead. High critical current density is a key factor for the applications such as current lead. (Bi,Pb)$_2$Sr$_2$Ca$_2$Cu$_3$O$\_$x/ high Tc superconductor haute been investigated in terms of critical current density. Bi-2223 superconducting current lead made by CIP and solid state sintering process. Bi-2223 current lead that heat treated at 836$^{\circ}C$ for 240 h in 1/13 P$\_$O$_2$/ had over 150 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ of critical current density at 77K. We knew that the superconducting properties of tube type current leads were better than rods type of them. And we investigated the relation of Bi-2223 formation and heat treatment condition by XRD and SEM analysis.

  • A high Tc superconducting with a nominal composition of BSSCCO was prepared by the citarte method. The solid precursor produced by the dehydration of the gel at $120^{\circ}C$ for 12h is not in the amorphous state as expected but in a crystalline state. X-ray diffraction peaks of nearly the same angular position as the peaks of high Tc phase were observed in the precursor. After pyrolysis at $400^{\circ}C$ and calcination at $840^{\circ}C$ for 4h. the (001) peak of the high Tc phase was cleary observed.

  • A 300Wh class flywheel energy storage system using high Tc superconductor bearings(HTC SFES) is being developed by KIMM and KEPRI. HTC SFES consists of a flywheel rotor, superconductor bearings, a motor/generator and its controller, touch-down bearings, vacuum chamber, etc. Stiffness and damping values of superconductor bearings were experimentally estimated to be 67,700N/m and 29Ns/m respectively. The present HTC SFES was designed to have maximum operating speed of 33000 rpm, which is far above 2 rigid body mode critical speeds of 645rpm and 1,275rpm. Leaf-spring type touch-down bearing were utilized to have the system pass safely through the system critical speeds. It has been experimentally verified that the system can run stably up to 28,000 rpm so that HTC SFES is now expected to reach up to its maximum design speed of 33,000rpm without any difficulties. The Halbach array motor & generator has also been proven its effectiveness on transferring electrical energy to a rotaing composite flywheel in kinetic form.
