PMMA (Polymethyle-methacrylate) optical components have recently been increasingly used as one of the important part of the high precision equipments. This research presents comparatively the surface preparation of light incident plane, LIP (Light Incident Plane) of LGP (Light Guide Panel) by end milling, high speed shaping, and vibration assisted high speed shaping. From several experiments, the results show that the surface quality was improved in high speed shaping and the vibration assisted HSS show not only decreasing waviness and breakage also raising the straightness property. For applying high speed shaping and vibration assisted HSS, an additional tool post was developed and experimentally used.

Servo control loops are a core part in the control architecture of machine tools. Servo control loops manage acceleration, velocity and position of all the axes in a machine tool based on commands. The performance of servo control loops sets the basis for quality of production paris and cycle time reduction. First, this paper presents a general control architecture of machine tools and several control schemes in literature, which can be applicable to machine tools control; including Zero Phase Error Tracking Control (ZPETC) and Cross Coupling Control (CCC). After that, modem control strategies to mitigate the problem of high speed machining are reviewed. In high speed machining, high accelerations excite the machine structure up to high frequencies, thereby exciting the structure's modes of vibration. These structural vibrations need to be damped if accurate positioning or trajectory following is required. Input shaping is an attractive option in dealing with structural vibrations. The advantages and drawbacks of using input shaping technique for machine tools are discussed in detail.

Diamond shaping is one of the machining strategies to make the optical micro-groove molds, and it is especially useful when the component is an assembly of the linear micro-groove array. A mirrorlike surface and an arbitrary crose-sectional curve can be easily made by the diamond tool. However, the cutting speed of shaping is relatively lower than that of the other cutting methods, and there exist an unstable cutting conditions that generate the chatter. This study is focused on the modeling of the simplified self-induced chatter of the diamond shaping, and the machinabilities of three materials are compared by cutting experiments. From the chatter model and experiments, it is found that the unstable cutting conditions exist when the depth of cut is low and cutting speed is high. It is also found that the brass is relatively good material in micro shaping than copper or aluminium from the cutting experiments.
The wafer positioning robot in the semiconductor industry is required to operate at high speed for the improvement of productivity. The residual vibration caused by the high speed of the wafer positioning robot, however, makes the life of the robot shorter and the cycle time longer. In this study, the input shaping and the path of the system are designed for the reduction of the residual vibration and the improvement of the cycle time. The followings are the process for the reduction and the improvement; 1) System modeling of the wafer positioning robot, 2) Verification of dynamic characteristics of the wafer positioning robot, 3) Input shaping plan using impulse response reiteration, 4) Simulation test using SIMULINK program, 5) Analysis of result.

This paper deals with precise positioning of a high-speed positioning stage without inducing residual vibration by using an input shaping technique. Input shaping is well known to be a very effective tool for suppressing the residual vibration of flexible structures. However, the ordinary input shaping for positioning stages is designated mostly for velocity regulation, not for the residual vibration at the target position. The main difficulties in implementing input shaping along with precise positioning are the time delay caused by the servo system characteristics and the s-curve feature often employed in some motor controllers. This paper analyzes the dynamic responses of a single-mode-dominate stage system subjected to input shaping. A theoretical model is developed io investigate the nature of system. In order to overcome the difficulty, this paper proposes an improved input shaper based on modified command profile generation. The proposed method is proved effective through experiments and simulations.

For permanent magnet brushless DC motors used for high speed fuel pumps, torque ripple is an important origin of vibration, acoustic noise and speed fluctuation. In this paper, the output torque profile of a PM motor with one phase energized is decomposed into the commutation torque, the reluctance torque and the armature reaction torque according to their source origins. It verifies that the output torque profile is qualitatively equivalent to the BEMF profile for low reluctance motors. This paper discusses the effect of magnet pole shaping and magnet arc length on the output torque and torque ripple. A magnet edge shaping is proposed to design a trapezoidal BEMF motor without torque ripple, with minimal sacrifice of the maximum output torque.

Many manufacturing devices must execute motions as quickly as possible to achieve profitable high-volume production. Most of them have devices having flexibility and a time delay of one sampling is added to the plants when they are controlled by fast discrete controllers, which brings about non-minimum phase zeros. This paper develops a control strategy that combines feedforward and feedback control with command shaping for such devices. First, the feedback controller is designed to increase damping and eliminate steady-state error. Next, the feedforward controller is designed to speed up the transient response. Finally, an appropriate reference profile is generated using command-shaping techniques to ensure fast point-to-point motions with minimum residual vibration. The particular focus of the paper is to understand the interactions between these individual control components. The resulting control strategy is demonstrated on a model of a high-speed semiconductor manufacturing machine.
In data transmission at the digital satellite broadcasting systems, the delay and spread are caused whit receiving original signals from the transmitter in the receiver. So, there are some problems in data fast transmission. Also, transmitted signals ate received in stale of the combination of transmission delay and noise of channel. The affect of channel noise is reduced when increasing transmission power, but as signal interference due to the transmission delay and spread of channel increase in proportion to the transmission power, there is a problem in spite of increasing the transmission power. And there is the problem to add ISI(inter symbol interference) because the property of the channel is limo-varying due to relative moving in the transceiver Therefore, in this paper, a pulse shaping filter for the high-speed service in digital satellite broadcasting systems was designed and reduced the ISI.
