Estimation of Interregional Mode Choice Models and Value of Travel Time Accommodating Taste Variation of Individuals (개인의 선호다양성을 고려한 지역간 수단선택 모형 구축 및 시간가치 추정 연구)

  • The system of high-speed and conventional railway vehicles is diversified, and significant technological development in performance has been achieved. This study analyzed the modal change characteristics; furthermore, it estimated the value of travel time by improving the travel time and cost for the passenger's perception of railway. In this study, we formulate a mode choice model for passengers and compare it with the mixed logit model which reflects individual taste variation. In addition, the validity of the analysis is presented through an estimation the value of travel time using the derived model. For this purpose, a stated preference survey was conducted with 510 people using public transportation. The benefits of time-saving can be accurately determined by estimating the value of time spent on the railway. Appropriate fares for public transportation can also be estimated.

  • The modal spilt for road has been increased, but, for railroad it has been decreased from 17.2%(1990) to 6.3%(2006). It is important to study on improving competition for railroad transportation so that freight transport industry for railroad which is getting to decrease in Korea will be increased. The objective of this study is to analyze the competitiveness of railroad transport compared with road by providing a high-speed railway. The indicators representing the competitiveness of railroad transport are determined. The main influenced factors for mode choice include transport cost, transport time, level of service. Precisely, three commodities type, container, cement, steel, are analyzed.

  • In this paper we evaluated dynamic stability, considering the effects of modeling and analysis methods on moving load analysis, for which a sophisticated 3 dimensional model of a PSC-I type girder bridge was used. For this purpose, we suggested a reasonable modeling method and the physical properties of the concrete and ballasted track system involved. We also analyzed the response characteristics according to: 1) the type of track system; 2) whether or not the track was modeled; 3) whether or not the distance between the girder center and the bearing were considered; 4) the analysis method (i.e., direct integral and modal analysis); 5) whether or not the frequency was filtered.

  • Lasers for optical broadband communication systems should have excellent frequency selectivity and modal stability. DFB(Distributed Feedback) lasers have low lasing frequency shift during high speed current modulation. In this paper, I have developed a simulation software and analysed threshold gain and lasing frequency of a lasing mode in longitudinal direction of an 1.55um DFB laser with two mirrors and without anti-reflection coatings, that have both an index- and gain-gratings. The grating phase on a left mirror face is fixed as π/2 and the grating phase on a right mirror face is varied. As the phases of the index and gain gratings on the right mirror facet are π and 0, κL should be in the range of 2~6 in order to enhance the frequency stability. In order to reduce the threshold current of a lasing mode, κL should be greater than 8, regardless of the grating phases on the mirror faces.

As the phases of the index and gain gratings on the mirror faces are varied, the beam profiles |R(z)| and |S(z)| of the lasing mode with the emitted power ratio Pl/pr are analysed and examined. In order to reduce the threshold current of a lasing mode and enhance the frequency stability, κL should be greater than 8, regardless of the grating phases on the mirror faces.

LH-FAS v2: Head Pose Estimation-Based Lightweight Face Anti-Spoofing (LH-FAS v2: 머리 자세 추정 기반 경량 얼굴 위조 방지 기술)

  • Facial recognition technology is widely used in various fields but faces challenges due to its vulnerability to fraudulent activities such as photo spoofing. Extensive research has been conducted to overcome this challenge. Most of them, however, require the use of specialized equipment like multi-modal cameras or operation in high-performance environments. In this paper, we introduce LH-FAS v2 (: Lightweight Head-pose-based Face Anti-Spoofing v2), a system designed to operate on a commercial webcam without any specialized equipment, to address the issue of facial recognition spoofing. LH-FAS v2 utilizes FSA-Net for head pose estimation and ArcFace for facial recognition, effectively assessing changes in head pose and verifying facial identity. We developed the VD4PS dataset, incorporating photo spoofing scenarios to evaluate the model's performance. The experimental results show the model's balanced accuracy and speed, indicating that head pose estimation-based facial anti-spoofing technology can be effectively used to counteract photo spoofing.

  • High frequency squeal noise can be generated when a railroad vehicle runs a sharp curved section; this noise causes environmental complaints and excessive wear on the wheel and the railroad track. In this paper, curved squeal noise experiments on a commercial railway were carried out to investigate this phenomenon. The relationship of the squeal noise pressure level, the frequency characteristics, the railway running speed, and the modal behavior of the wheel were investigated. At the same time, the lateral motion of the wheel relative to the rail was captured using a video camera; wheel movement was calculated when the noise was generated. queal noise occurred at the highest level at the inner front wheel; this phenomena is considered to be related to the lateral vibration response characteristics of the wheel. It can be seen that the magnitude of this squeal noise is not directly related to the increase in vehicle speed.

In this paper, when a refractive index grating and a gain grating are simultaneously present in a DFB laser having a wavelength of 1.55 ㎛, the dielectric film is coated so that reflection does not occur on the right mirror surface, so that ρr=0. For the first mode, which requires a minimum gain at the threshold, the beam distribution of the oscillation mode in the longitudinal direction and the radiated power ratio Pl/Pr were analyzed and compared for the cases of the phase of ρl=π and π/2. If the phase of ρl=π, in order to obtain a low threshold current and high frequency stability, κL should be greater than 8. In the case of the phase of ρl=π/2, for low threshold current, κL is necessary to be 1.0, where the oscillation frequency coincides with the lattice frequency.   • In 1997, 180 countries signed the Kyoto Protocol in Kyoto, Japan. The Kyoto Protocol came into force in February 2005. The agreement calls for industrialized nations to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 5 percent from 1990 levels by 2008 to 2012. One of those polices is a modal shift that change from road freight to sea, inland waterway and railroad transportation that is eco-friendly. The increase of road freight brings road congestion, accidents, logistic costs, air pollution and greenhouse gases. Railroads are superior than the other modes of transportation in mass transportability, high speed, timeliness, safety and environmental-friendliness, but the railway industry has been pushed behind in competition. Korean railroads were used by passengers and freight transport popularly until the middle of 20th century, however, by the sudden change of logistics environments, a shaving time efficiency being most important, railroad logistic lost its competitive power against the transportation by truck. From the research which sees consequently investigated a various policy, a system and a law about Chinese logistics industry and present condition of the Chinese goods enterprise and instance analysis of the large Chinese corporation that branch out to undeveloped markets led and a Chinese logistics industry and problem point escape hereafter the heightening of competitiveness plan which is rational under prsenting boil.
