  • FeCoB films were being prepared on a Ru underlayer by using the oblique incidence of sputtered and back-scattered particles which have a high in-plane magnetic anisotropy field $H_k$ above 400 Oe. It is suitable to attain such deposition condition when facing targets sputtering system. The in-plane X-ray diffraction analysis clarified that there is anisotropic residual stress which is the origin of the high in-plane magnetic anisotropy. The directional crystalline alignment and inclination of crystallite growth were also observed. Such anisotropic crystalline structures may affect the anisotropic residual stress in the films. The B content of 5.6 at.% was appropriate to induce such anisotropic residual stress and $H_k$ of 410 Oe in this experiment. The film with B content of 6 at.% possessed large saturation magnetization of 22 kG and high $H_k$ of 500 Oe. The film exhibited high ferromagnetic resonance frequency of 9.2 GHz.

  • We have developed a high-field and high-frequency ESR system using a commercially available magnetometer equipped with the superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). This is magnetization detection type ESR and ESR is observed as a change of the magnetization at the resonance condition under irradiation of the electromagnetic wave. The frequency range is from 70 to 315 GHz and the maximum magnetic field is 5 T. The sensitivity is estimated to be $10^{13}$ spins/G. The advantage of this system is that the high-field ESR measurements can be made very easily and quantitatively. Moreover, this high-field ESR can be applied to the measurements under pressure by using a widely used piston-cylinder pressure cell.

  • Here is presented the measurement on SrO- and SrCaO-PDP operated at lower voltage. SrO- and SrCaO-PDP attain high luminous efficacy at low voltage, where the breakdown voltage is 30 % lower than that of the ordinary MgO-PDP. A one-dimensional fluid model is applied for the simulation of PDP discharge. High VUV radiation efficiency is confirmed at high ${\gamma}_i$ and both low and high $V_s$ as in the experiment. Discharge analysis in simulation also shows that the high ${\gamma}_i$ protective layer leads to high plasma density especially near the cathode electrode, being responsible for high efficiency.

KERI's responsibility is the electrical system engineering that includes engineering design of an on-board computer system for diagnosis and control of train set and electrical/mechanical devices. A system engineering approach of the design is performed in order to guarantee the passenger safety and economically viable train for on-board control system construction, operation and maintenance. This paper presents the draft engineering des on-board computer system that ensures the s and reliability of KHST. The draft is focuse network interfaced distributed processing system.

  • This study developed a high-temperature, high-pressure dynamic pressure sensor using LGT(lanthanum gallium tantalate). The sensitivity of the fabricated dynamic pressure sensor was 2.1 mV/kPa and its nonlinearity was 2.5%FS. We confirmed that the high-temperature dynamic pressure sensor operated stably in high-temperature environment at $500^{\circ}C$. The developed dynamic pressure sensor using LGT is expected to be applicable not only to gas turbines but also in various industrial areas in duding airplanes and power stations.

  • This paper described the current rating methodology of high voltage connectors used for high efficient vehicles. Typically, temperature rise at rated current has been used to rate power contacts in automotive connector. However, for automotive applications, they are required to meet severe environmental conditions and high connector reliability. Therefore, it is very important to rate correctly an allowable current of automotive connector. We have measured the contact characteristics through current cycling at room temperature and at high temperature, as well as temperature rising and current carrying capacity by de-rating. From the above results, we have developed high reliable contacts with about 80 Amperes.

  • Recently, many attempts have been made to develop high strength and high modulus fibers from conventional polymers such as poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)[1-4] and polyethylene (PE). PVA has potentiality to yield high strength and high modulus fiber, since they have high theoretically attainable moduli because of their planar zig-zag structure. As PVA has a melting temperature as high as 230$^{\circ}C$ in contrast to PE with a low melting temperature such as 130$^{\circ}C$, it seems possible that high strength and high modulus fibers comparable to Aramid can be fabricated from PVA. • This paper presents high voltage operation sensing boost converter with high side current. Proposed topology has three functions which are high voltage driving, high side current sensing and low voltage boost controller. High voltage gate driving block provides LED dimming function and switch function such as a load switch of LED driver. To protect abnormal fault and burn out of LED bar, it is applied high side current sensing method with high voltage driver. This proposed configuration of boost converter shows the effectiveness capability to LED driver through measurement results.

  • We explore the crystalline structure and phase transition of lithium thiophosphate ($Li_7P_3S_{11}$) solid electrolyte using electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The glass-like $Li_7P_3S_{11}$ powder is prepared by the high-energy mechanical milling process. According to the energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and selected area diffraction (SAD) analysis, the glass powder shows chemical homogeneity without noticeable contrast variation at any specific spot in the specimen and amorphous SAD ring patterns. Upon heating up to $260^{\circ}C$ the glass $Li_7P_3S_{11}$ powder becomes crystallized, clearly representing crystal plane diffraction contrast in the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy image. We further confirm that each diffraction spot precisely corresponds to the diffraction from a particular $Li_7P_3S_{11}$ crystallographic structure, which is also in good agreement with the previous X-ray diffraction results. We expect that the microscopic analysis with EDS and SAD patterns would permit a new approach to study in the atomic scale of other lithium ion conducting sulfides.

  • The continuous composite I-girder should have a sufficient rotation capacity (or ductility) to redistribute the negative bending moment into an adjacent positive bending moment region. However, it is generally known that the ductility of the high strength steel is smaller than that of conventional steel, and application of high strength steel can cause ductility problems in a negative moment region of the I-girder. In this study, moment redistribution of the continuous composite I-girder with high strength steel was studied, where high strength steel with yield stress of 690 MPa was considered (the ultimate stress of the steel was 800 MPa). The available and required rotation capacity of the continuous composite I-girder with high strength steel was firstly derived based on the stress-strain curve of high strength steel and plastic analysis, respectively. A large scale test and a series of non-linear finite element analysis for the continuous composite I-girder with high strength steel were then conducted to examine the effectiveness of proposed models and to investigate the effect of high strength steel on the inelastic behavior of the negative bending moment region of the continuous composite I-girder with high strength steel. Finally, it can be found that the proposed equations provided good estimation of the requited and available rotation capacity of the continuous composite I-girder with high strength steel.
