  • In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical distributed intrusion detection system, named HNHDIDS(Home Network Hierarchical Distributed Intrusion Detection System), which is not only based on the structure of distributed intrusion detection system, but also fully consider the environment of secure home networks service. The proposed system is hierarchically composed of the one-class support vector machine(support vector data description) and local agents, in which it is designed for optimizing for the environment of secure home networks service. We support our findings with computer experiments and analysis.

  • In this paper, a secure and efficient binding update protocol as well as a handover protocol are proposed in the generalized hierarchical MIPv6 environment. Contrary to the conventional hierarchical MIPv6 environment where a foreign network is a small-scaled MAP domain, a large-scaled MAP domain consisting of several MAPs which are connected hierarchically is considered in the proposed protocol for the mechanism to support fast and secure mobility. It is also analyzed the security of the proposed protocol under the various attack scenarios.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have many potential applications and unique challenges. Some problems of WSNs are: severe resources' constraints, low reliability and fault tolerant, low throughput, low scalability, low Quality of Service (QoS) and insecure operational environments. One significant solution against mentioned problems is hierarchical and clustering-based multipath routing. But, existent algorithms have many weaknesses such as: high overhead, security vulnerabilities, address-centric, low-scalability, permanent usage of optimal paths and severe resources' consumption. As a result, this paper is proposed an energy-aware, congestion-aware, location-based, data-centric, scalable, hierarchical and clustering-based multipath routing algorithm based on Numerical Taxonomy technique for homogenous WSNs. Finally, performance of the proposed algorithm has been compared with performance of LEACH routing algorithm; results of simulations and statistical-mathematical analysis are showing the proposed algorithm has been improved in terms of parameters like balanced resources' consumption such as energy and bandwidth, throughput, reliability and fault tolerant, accuracy, QoS such as average rate of packet delivery and WSNs' lifetime.

  • It has been widely believed that one can obtain $\iota$-Hierarchical Identity Based Encryption (HIBE) scheme secure against chosen ciphetext attacks from ($\iota$+1)-HIBE scheme secure against chosen plaintext attacks. In this paper, however, we show that when applying two concrete HIBE schemes that Boneh et al. [1, 2] proposed, chosen ciphertext secure $\iota$-HIBE schemes are directly derived from chosen plaintext secure $\iota$-HIBE schemes. Our constructions are based on a one-time signature-based transformation that Canetti et at.[3] proposed. The security of our schemes is proved in the selective-ID suity model without using random oracles.

  • In spite of many advantages of cloud computing, security concerns are a barrier in users' adopting the cloud service. In this paper, we evaluate relative priorities between security attributes of ISO 7498-2 standards affecting overall security quality in cloud computing. For an objective evaluation, the fuzzy AHP(Analytic hierarchical process) is applied. The evaluation results represented the relative priority with concrete number can be an effective management method to choose and develop the cloud computing service.

  • In order to support secure communication in VANET(Vehicular Ad hoc Network), messages exchanged between vehicles or between vehicle and infrastructure must be authenticated. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical anonymous authentication system for VANET. The proposed system model reduces the overhead of PKG, which is a problem of previous system, by generating private keys hierarchically, thereby enhancing practicality. We also propose a two-level hierarchical identity-based signature(TLHIBS) scheme without pairings so that improve efficiency. The proposed scheme protects the privacy of the vehicle by satisfying conditional privacy and supports batch verification so that efficiently verifies multiple signatures. Finally, The security of the proposed scheme is proved in the random oracle model by reducing the discrete logarithm problem(DLP) whereas the security proof of the previous ID-based signatures for VANET was incomplete.

  • Operating systems and application programs have security vulnerabilities derived from the software development process. Recently, incident cases related with the abuses of these vulnerabilities are increasing and the damages caused by them are becoming very important security issues all over the nations. Patch management is one of the most important processes to fix vulnerabilities of softwares and to ensure a security of systems. Since an institute or a company has distributed hierarchical and heterogeneous systems, it is not easy to update patches promptly. In this paper, we propose patch management framework to safely distribute and install the patches on Windows, Linux, and Solaris client systems. Besides, we censidered extensibility and hierarchical structure for our patch management framework to support large scaled network environment.

  • F-HMIPv6 is protocol that supports fast handovers for Hierarchical Mobile IPv6. Unlike HMIPv6 (Hierarchical Mobile IPv6), it sends FBU(Fast Binding Update) by predicted Router's Information for a potential handover. But, The current version of this protocol doesn't ensure impeccably between mobile node and router. To make up for the weak points of the security, we propose the architecture for F-HMIPv6 protocol to structurally reinforce the security and improve weak security of among mobile node, MAP(Mobility Anchor Point), and routers for binding update when mobile node conducts handovers.

  • With the Internet winning a huge popularity, there rise urgent problems which are related to Network Security Managements such as Protecting Network and Communication from un-authorized user. Accordingly, Using Security equipments have been common lately such as Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls and VPNs. Those systems. however, operate in individual system which are independent to me another. Their usage are so limited according to their vendors that they can not provide a corporate Security Solution. In this paper, we present a Hierarchical Security Management Model which can be applicable to a Network Security Policies consistently. We also propose a Policy Negotiation Mechanism and a Prototype which help us to manage Security Policies and Negotiations easier. The results of this research also can be one of the useful guides to developing a Security Policy Server or Security Techniques which can be useful in different environments. This study also shows that it is also possible to improve a Security Characteristics as a whole network and also to support Policy Associations among hosts using our mechanisms.
