The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of childhood obesity on school adjustment and whether the effects were mediated by withdrawal. Using the 2015 Korea Welfare Panel Study data, this study conducted a hierarchical regression analysis to examine the mediating effects of withdrawal on the relationship between childhood obesity and school adjustment. In addition, a Sobel test was used to consider the statistical significance of the mediating effects. Findings were as follows: First, childhood obesity had a negative influence on school adjustment. Second, childhood obesity affected withdrawal positively. Third. withdrawal had a negative impact on school adjustment. Fourth, withdrawal was found to partially mediate the relationship between childhood obesity and school adjustment. Based on the results, implications were discussed to intervene in preventing childhood obesity and to reduce the negative effects of childhood obesity.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms and the effect of PTSD on quality of life (QoL) among coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. Methods: The participants were 135 CAD patients who visited outpatient clinics in a university hospital in B city of Korea. Their PTSD symptoms and QoL were measured by structured questionnaires and analyzed with multiple hierarchical regression analysis. Results: Among the 135 participants, 20.7% were classified as moderate risk, and 3.7% as high risk for PTSD. PTSD symptoms were significantly higher in participants who were diagnosed with CAD within 6 months (t=26.02, p<.001). The physical component of health-related QoL was influenced by gender (${\beta}=-.25$, p =.003), recurrence of CAD (${\beta}=.21$, p =.008), and PTSD symptoms (${\beta}=-.33$, p <.001). The mental component of health-related QoL was influenced by religion (${\beta}=-.17$, p =.044), body mass index (${\beta}=.17$, p =.033), and PTSD symptoms (${\beta}=-.37$, p <.001). Conclusion: Patients who had had a CAD diagnosis for less than 6 months were found to be vulnerable to PTSD, and PTSD was found to have a negative impact on the physical and mental components of their QoL. It is necessary to develop an intervention program for the effective prevention and management of PTSD symptoms in patients with CAD.
Data with a large difference in the number of objects between clusters are called unbalanced data. In discriminant analysis of unbalanced data, it is more important to classify objects in minority categories than to classify objects in majority categories well. However, objects in minority categories are often misclassified into majority categories. In this study, we propose a method that combined hierarchical DBSCAN (HDBSCAN) and SMOTE to solve this problem. Using HDBSCAN, it removes noise in minority categories and majority categories. Then it applies SMOTE to create new data. Area under the roc curve (AUC) and F1 scores were used to compare performance with existing methods. As a result, in most cases, the method combining HDBSCAN and synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) showed a high performance index, and it was found to be an excellent method for classifying unbalanced data.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze factors related to the functional state of stroke patients after discharge from hospital. Methods : The data was provided from a hospital in Wonju, Gangwon-do. The subjects of the analysis were those who were admitted to the emergency room due to stroke from July to December 2016. The dependent variable was the patient's functional status as measured by the modified Rankin Scale(mRS). Independent variables were demographic factors (age, sex, and marriage status), transportation and distance factors (transportation, travel distance), inpatient factors (lengths of stay, Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), Tissue plasminogen activator, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Hierarchial regression analysis was applied for the analysis. Results : In the hierarchical regression analysis, Model 3, including socio-demographic factors, transportation, distance factors, and inpatient factors, was the best fitted model. It showed that functional status of stroke patients was positively associated with age, length of stay, CCI, NIHSS, and negatively associated with unmarried status. Conclusions : Results indicated that management of stroke requires care from the pre-disease stage, and a customized education program policy is needed for high-risk stroke patients who are older and have comorbid illness.

Self Organizing Map (SOM) was applied for pattern classification of hydrological and water quality data measured at Jangseong Reservoir on a monthly basis. The primary objective of the present study is to understand better data characteristics and relationship between the data. For the purpose, two SOMs were configured by a methodologically systematic approach with appropriate methods for data transformation, determination of map size and side lengths of the map. The SOMs constructed at the respective measurement stations for water quality data (JSD1 and JSD2) commonly classified the respective datasets into five clusters by Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI). The trained SOMs were fine-tuned by Ward's method of a hierarchical cluster analysis. On the one hand, the patterns with high values of standardized reference vectors for hydrological variables revealed the high possibility of eutrophication by TN or TP in the reservoir, in general. On the other hand, the clusters with low values of standardized reference vectors for hydrological variables showed the patterns with high COD concentration. In particular, Clsuter1 at JSD1 and Cluster5 at JSD2 represented the worst condition of water quality with high reference vectors for rainfall and storage in the reservoir. Consequently, SOM is applicable to identify the patterns of potential eutrophication in reservoirs according to the better understanding of data characteristics and their relationship.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: To determine the weight change trend among the adult Turkish population after 1 yr of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and factors associated with weight change. MATERIALS/METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted between 26 February and 6 March 2021 using an online questionnaire that included questions for sociodemographic variables, eating habits, stress level, and the Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire-R18. Those who weighed themselves 1-2 weeks before the pandemic was declared in Turkey and remembered their weight were invited to participate in the study. Trends in weight and body mass index (BMI) change were calculated. The variables associated with a 1% change in BMI were assessed using hierarchical regression analysis. RESULTS: The study was conducted with 1,630 adults (70.25% female) with a mean age of 32.09 (11.62) yrs. The trend of weight change was found to increase by an average of 1.15 ± 6.10 kg (female +0.72 ± 5.51, male +2.16 ± 7.22 kg) for the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rate of participants with a normal BMI (18.50-24.99 kg/m2) decreased to 51.91% from 55.75%. Consuming an "Increased amount of food compared to before the pandemic" was found to be the independent variable that had the strongest association with a 1% increase in BMI (β = 0.23 P < 0.001). The average change in the BMI was higher in older individuals than in those who were younger. A high stress level was associated with a decrease in BMI (β = -0.04 P = 0.048). CONCLUSIONS: In this study, the factors associated with weight change after 1 yr of the pandemic in the Turkish population was reported for the first time. A high stress level and increased weight gain trend still occur in Turkey after 1 yr of the pandemic.
As the use of various application services utilizing Web and IoT and the need for large amounts of data management expand accordingly, the importance of efficient data expression and exchange scheme and data query processing is increasing. JSON, characterized by its simplicity, is being used in various fields as a format for data exchange and data storage instead of XML, which is a standard data expression and exchange language on the Web. This means that it is important to develop indexing and query processing techniques to effectively access and search large amounts of data expressed in JSON. Therefore, in this paper, we modeled JSON data with a hierarchical structure in a tree form, and proposed indexing and query processing using the path concept. In particular, we designed an index structure using a suffix array widely used in text search and introduced simple and complex path-based JSON data query processing methods.
In the COVID-19 crisis, the elderly over 60 have various psychological health problems such as depression, anxiety, and fear, and the community has become the only space for senior activities. To this end, this study presented a therapeutic aging-friendly community environmental design evaluation system using theoretical review, FGI interview, and hierarchical analysis AHP. The evaluation system is a three-dimensional space, with 10 upper layers and 68 lower layers. In addition, the weight of each index of the evaluation system was distributed through expert survey and SPSS program analysis. First, the material space environment design must satisfy the comfort and health of the elderly when they are active in a common space for their daily life. Second, the design of social space environment is designed to promote exchange and social connection among the elderly. Third, the operating space environment design considers the operating system of the community operating company as important. Through this, it is expected to improve the psychological health of the elderly by providing systematic technical basis and action guidelines for the development of the residential environment of the elderly.

This study aims to stratify consumer market evaluation items from the Consumer Decision Journey(CDJ) perspective and understand the relationship between laws/systems and consumer orientation through the Korea Consumer Agency's '19 Korea Consumer Markets Evaluation Indicators. This study divided consumer market evaluation items into the selection comparison stage, selection decision stage, and post-purchase experience stage. And present a model that stratified the relationship with consumer orientation of laws/systems and verified using the CDJ model's experience as a control variable. Studies have shown that the relationship between the consumer market evaluation index that evaluates consumer orientation can be stratified according to the consumer decision-making stage and positively affects the relationship with consumer orientation of laws/systems. In addition, the impact of consumer market evaluation variables (reliability, and price) on the consumer orientation of laws/systems was different depending on the presence or absence of consumer damage experience.
Purpose: This descriptive study aimed to identify shift nurses' retention intention, need satisfaction, calling and vocation, and job stress, as well as the effects of these factors on retention intention. Methods: The participants of this study were 193 nurses working shifts with more than three months' clinical experience at general hospitals. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from February 1 to 28, 2023. Nurses' Retention Index and Nurse Needs Satisfaction Scale, Korean version of the Calling and Vocational Questionnaire, Korean Occupational Stress Scale were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were conducted for statistical analysis. Results: Regarding nurses' shift work, the mean scores for retention intention, needs satisfaction, calling and vocation, and job stress were 32.12±9.04, 94.87±14.74, 26.95±6.84, and 66.12±10.34. Moreover, the nurses' retention intention differed significantly by age, education level, religion, marital status, clinical experience, satisfaction with wage, and job satisfaction. Furthermore, retention intention was positively correlated with needs satisfaction and calling and vocation and negatively correlated with job stress. Needs satisfaction, and calling and vocation as well as education level of bachelor's degree, job satisfaction had positive effects on shift work nurses' retention intention. Job dissatisfaction had relatively negative effects on retention intention compared to having neutral job satisfaction. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop programs that promote needs satisfaction, calling and vocation, and job satisfaction to improve nurses' retention intention in relation to shift work; moreover, institutional support for acquiring a bachelor's degree or higher is needed.
