The cellulase from internal organs of edible snails was purified by fractionation with ammonium sulfate, DEAE-Sephadex chromatography and gel filtration on Sephacryl S-200 and Superose 12 HR 10/30. The specific activity of the purified cellulase was 85.1 units/mg protein with 24.3 purification fold from crude extract. Molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated to be approximately 74,000 dalton by gel filtration chromatography and SDS-PAGE eletrophoresis. T7e isoelectric point of the enzyme was determined to be pH 4.6. The optimum temperature and pH of the enzyme were 5$0^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0, respectively. The enzyme was stable at 30~5$0^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0~10.0. It was activates by Mn$^{2+}$, but inhibited by Li$^{2+}$, Zn$^{2+}$, Ag$^{2+}$ and Hg$^{2+}$./TEX> 2+/.
Hand characteristics related with structural properties of fabrics have something to do with mechanical properties of fabric. In this study, the mechanical properties and hand characteristics have been analyzed according to fabric structural parameters such as the weave structure and the linear density of weft of cotton fabric. Mechanical properties have been used by KES-FB system which measures hand characteristics and mechanical properties of fabric. Linear density of weft, tensile, bending, and shear properties are decreasing with increasing weft linear density, and there is no considerable effects on compression and surface properties. In case of formability with weft linear density, B/W, 2HG/G, 2HB/B, 2HB/W, $\sqrt[3]{B/W}$, $\sqrt{2HB/W}$, W/T except MMD/SMD, WC/T, and WC/W have been effected. There is a high correlation between the crimp, tightness, hand, formability and mechanical properties specially tensile linearity, bending, shear, and compression properties. The weft crimp influences the bending rigidity, shear properties, and the tightness which have effects on the tensile linearity, bending, shear, compression properties, hand, and formability.
The effect of heavy metal ions on the synthesis of proteins in cultured chick embryonic muscle cells were examined by labeling the cellular proteins with 35S-methionine and the surface proteins with Nalssl and lactoperokidase. The protein pattern in the cells cultured for 48 hrs showed little or no difference whether or not the cells were treated with any of the metal ions including Cu2+, Cd2+ and Hg2+, which are known to block the fusion of mypblasts. However, a 43kd protein disappeared from the control cells cultured for 72 hrs but remained unchanged in the cells treated with the metal ions. When analyzed for the syntheiic pattern of membrane proteins, addition of the ions (particularly of Cda+ and Cr3+) caused a marked increase in the level of 66kd protein, as compared to that in the untreated cells. By contrast, the level of 29kd protein was much higher in the control cells than in the cells treated with the metal ions. These results suggest that the heavy metal ions appear to block the degradation of 43kd soluble protein and 66kd membrane protein, perhaps by inhibiting a metalloprotease, which may be essential for the myogenic process of embryonic muscle cells.

Iron precipitating organisms play a significant role in the formation of ferric hydroxide precipitate, which acts as strong adsorbent for toxic metal. In this respect four different iron precipitating cultures were isolated from Hutti gold mine surface winze water sample on citrate agar medium. The best isolate was screened out for metal removal study on the basis of fast visual iron precipitation. The selected isolate was identified as Enterobacter sp. based on routine biochemical tests and Biolog GN microplate results and as Enterobacter cloacae subsp. dissolvens by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number EU429448). Influence of medium composition, medium initial pH, the influence of inoculum size, effect of various media and ferric ammonium citrate concentration were studied on metal removal in shake flask experiments. Under the optimized conditions studied, E. cloacae showed $94{\pm}2$, $95{\pm}2$ and $70{\pm}2%$ of cadmium, copper and mercury removal from a simulated waste in shake flask studies. In lab scale column reactor more than 85% of copper and mercury removal was achieved.
Recycling of reclaimed concrete (RC) is very important in the management of construction and demolition wastes. Most of RC is utilized for land-filling after crushing in this country. In this study, a series of elution experiments were conducted to investigate the type and amount of pollutants released from the crushed RC. Most water quality parameters including heavy metals and some organic compounds were below standards for drinking water. Some of heavy metals such as As, Cd, Pb, Hg were detected in 0.5 N H2S04 solution after 24-hour immersing RC, which was conducted for evaluating a long term release effect. The concentration of the heavy metals were higher than the drinking water standards. The results also showed significant adsorption of heavy metals by crushed Re. Potential risks, based on the result of this study were not high in using crushed RC for land-filling. Appropriate management of RC would reduce the risk, for example the separation of hazardous materials from construction wastes. Long term evaluations for the sites of land filled with RC would be required to assess the environmental impacts.
These days, interest in the leaching of hazardous heavy metals to consist of incinerator fly ash is increasing, because the heavy metals that leach from the incinerator fly ash pollute the soil and ground water. Therefore this study was undertaken to crystallize the fly ash and prevent the leaching of hazardous heavy metals from fly ash. The concentrations and the leaching concentration of hazardous heavy metals(Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, Zn) in the law incinerator fly ash have been measured. The fly ash was melted with two kinds of flux($Na_2CO_3, CaCO_3$) and its add quantity(0, 1, 2, 3 wt%). The crystal structure of melting materials was analyzed by SEM(Scaning Electron Microscope) and X-RD(X-Ray Diffractometer). The leaching test of melting materials was undertaken. And the relation between crystallization of melting materials and flux and leaching concentration. These experiments indicate that the concentration and leaching concentration of heavy metals in incinerator fly ash was much higher than the regulatory standard for leachates in Korea and U.S.A and average concentration of heavy metals in soil. And the crystal structure was better.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Bridge exercise with abdominal drawing-in on static and dynamic balance in patients with stroke. Methods: Forty patients with stroke participated in this study. Participation was randomly assigned to the Bridge exercise group (n=20) and the Bridge exercise with abdominal drawing-in group (n=20). A bio-feedback device was used when patients performed the Bridge exercise with abdominal drawing-in. This training was performed without any motion on the patient's spine and upper belly part, and the pressure was held with the biofeedback device as 40-70 mmHg. Both groups received training 30 minutes per day, three times per week, for four weeks. Weight bearing, anterior limit of stability, and posterior limit of stability for static balance ability were measured, and Berg balance scale (BBS), Timed up and go test (TUG) for dynamic balance ability were also measured. Results: Participants showed significant differences between pre- and post-mediation in terms of weight bearing, anterior limit of stability, posterior limit of stability, Berg balance scale, and Timed up and go test (p<0.05). The Bridge exercise with abdominal drawing-in group showed a more significant increase (p<0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of this study, both exercises were effective for improving the static and dynamic balance ability. However we suggest that the Bridge exercise with abdominal drawing-in is more efficient for increasing balance ability in patients with stroke.
Using the hollow fiber membrane module in a lab-scale membrane bioreactor, the anoxic- oxic (AO) process for nitrogen removal was operated for about one year. For the influent wastewater containing 1,200-1,400 mg $1^{-1}$ of CODcr and 200-310 mg $1^{-1}$ of nitrogen, this process achieved a high quality effluent of less than 30 mgCOD $liter^{-1}$ and 50 mgN $liter^{-1}$. The removal rate of organics was above 98% at a loading rate larger than 2.5 kgCOD $m^{-3}$$d^{-1}$. When the internal recycle from the oxic to the anoxic reactor changed room 2n to 600% rout the influent flow rate, the nitrogen removal rate increased from about 70 to 90% at a loading rate of 0.4 kgT-N m-s d-1. The initial increase of transmembrane pressure (TMP) was observed after a 4-month operation while maintaining the flux and MLSS concentration at 7-9 1 $m^2$$h^{-1}$ and 6,000-14,000 mg $1^{-1}$, respectively. The TMP could be maintained below 15 cmHg for an 8-month operation. The chemical cleaning with an acid followed by an immersion in an alkali solution gave better cleaning result with the membrane operated for 10 month rather than that only by an alkali immersion.

Real-time human recognition is a challenging task, as the images are captured in an unconstrained environment with different poses, makeups, and styles. This limitation is addressed by generating several facial images with poses, makeup, and styles with a single reference image of a person using Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN). In this paper, we propose deep learning-based human recognition using integration of GAN and Spatial Domain Techniques. A novel concept of human recognition based on face depiction approach by generating several dissimilar face images from single reference face image using Domain Transfer Generative Adversarial Networks (DT-GAN) combined with feature extraction techniques such as Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and Histogram is deliberated. The Euclidean Distance (ED) is used in the matching section for comparison of features to test the performance of the method. A database of millions of people with a single reference face image per person, instead of multiple reference face images, is created and saved on the centralized server, which helps to reduce memory load on the centralized server. It is noticed that the recognition accuracy is 100% for smaller size datasets and a little less accuracy for larger size datasets and also, results are compared with present methods to show the superiority of proposed method.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate traumatic urethral injury in a 63-year-old patient with hematuria. Methods: A hematuria patient was transferred by paramedics. At the time of the visit, the patient's blood pressure (151/91mmHg), pulse rate (86/min), body temperature (37.1℃), and other vital signs were stable. Their KTAS (Korean Triage and Acuity Scale) was Level 4. The patient had no damage to the injured area, but a large contrast defect was observed between the prostate urethra and the bladder in urethral angiography performed due to persistent hematuria and pain in the injured area. Results: Following radiological evaluation of a suspected liposarcoma or neuroma mass of the prostate urethra, the mass was removed through urethral tumor resection. The result of histologic evaluation provided a diagnosis of highly differentiated invasive urethral cell carcinoma that had invaded the muscle layer. The patient was given additional treatment for urethral cancer but was rejected and is currently being followed. Conclusion: The prognosis for urinary tract cancer has distinct differences for patients with lymph node metastasis and tumor characteristics. The presence or absence of urethral cancer should be confirmed through angiography, CT, MRI, and cystoscopy.
