Herpes simpex virus type 2 (HSV-2) infects the genital and oral mucosae of human and other animals. HSV-2 infection is a widespread health problem causing various clinical syndromes including oral, genital, and ocular lesions, viral encephalitis, and recurrent diseases. Hybridorna cell lines secreting a monoclonal antibody (mAb) against the HSV-2 were produced by fusing spleen cells of HSV-2-immunized mice with Sp2/0-AgI4 myeloma cells. One hybridoma cell line was established and its monoclonal C-2, IgM, recognized the antigens of 134, 86, and 43 kDa in western blot analysis. In SDS-P AGE analysis of HSV -2 antigens, 25 bands were separated between 3D kDa and 159 kDa. In indirect immunofluorescent assay, mAbs exhibited binding to the virus antigen expressed on Vero cell infected with HSV-2.

Neuronal cells and Schwann cells from dorsal root ganglion (DRG) in embryos of rat were isolated and cultured in vitro respectively. The purified neuronal cells added with anti-mitotic agents and purified Schwann cells were co-cultured and then accomplished myelination processing. This myelinated co-culture system was infected by herpes simplex virus-1 and then accomplished demyelination processing in this myelinated co-culture. We identified myelination and demyelination processing using antibody of neuropeptide Y meaning presence of myelinated neuron.

Herpetic mastitis is extremely rare, and its imaging findings remain unclear. We report a case of herpes simplex mastitis in an adolescent woman and describe the clinical and ultrasound features. The patient showed unilateral nipple and areolar skin thickening and axillary lymphadenopathy on B-mode ultrasonography. Doppler ultrasonography revealed multiple linear and branching blood flows in the areolar area. The lesion was verified as herpes simplex mastitis via a skin biopsy. This report shows that the radiologic features of herpes simplex mastitis may be similar to those of Paget's disease because of localized nipple and areolar skin thickening and increased vascularity.

Horner's syndrome may rarely accompany herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO). A 78-year-old woman suffered from HZO accompanied ipsilateral ptosis and miosis. Before skin eruption, she was diagnosed as a paratrigeminal syndrome of Raeder. She was treated with intravenous acyclovir and prednisone for 7 days. Ptosis and miosis was not completely improved after 5 months of follow-up.

Cholera toxin and dibutyryl cyclic adenosine 3', 5'-monophosphate(db-cAMP) increased the rate and number of infections units produced in the in vitro reactivation of latent herpes simplex virus, whereas adenosine diminished them. cAMP concentration in latently infected trigeminal ganglia of mice was greatly increased by cholera toxin but was not affected by adenosine.

Zoster-associated limb paresis is a relatively uncommon complication of herpes zoster that is characterized by focal motor weakness. Awareness of this disorder is important to avoid unnecessary invasive investigations and to ensure appropriate treatment. We report a case of a herpes zoster involving the femoral nerve.

This study was designed to evaluate the effect of YongdamSaganTang on Herpes Zoster. Three pastients were taken YongdamSaganTang with acupunture, and cupping theraphy. After the treatment the grade of VAS was decressed and clinical symptoms were gradually disappeared. Those results suggest that YongdamSaganTang was effective treatment of Herpes Zoster.

Herpes zoster is a viral disease characterized by skin rash and persistent pain. Early treatment with epidural analgesia provides very effective pain relief and reduces the incidence of postherpetic neuralgia. However, epidural analgesia in elderly, deliberated or hypovolemic patients may complicate circulatory depression such as hypotension and bradycardia. Even if temporary, a major decrease in blood pressure may decrease coronary blood flow of patients with arteriosclerosis and ischemic accident may occur. We experienced a case of unstable angina pectoris after lumbar epidural blockade in a herpes zoster patient with chronic stable angina pectoris.

Herpes zoster in childhood is uncommon, but it is more common in association with immunosuppression. Maternal varicella infection during pregnancy and varicella occurring in the newborn represent risk for childhood herpes zoster. However, some controversies persist on risk factors, diagnosis, and the natural history of childhood disease. We report a 10-year-old healthy boy with shingles and review the risk factors, prognosis, and treatment of pediatric zoster.

1. Objectives : The Purpose of this case is to report that a Tae-eumin patient diagnosed as Herpes Zoster was treated with Yeoldahanso-tang and then his symptoms improved. 2. Methods : We diagnosed the patient as Tae-eumin-Kanyeol-byung(太陰人肝熱病). So we treated him With Yeoldahanso-tang, and used Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and pictures of the affected part for the assessment. 3. Results : After we treated the patient with Yeoldahanso-tang, the vesicles were cleared and his symptoms improved. 4. Conclusions : This case study show an efficient result of using Yeoldahanso-tang in Tae-eumin diagnosed to Herpes Zoster.
