Currently, oriental medicine research is focused with modern research technology and validate it's various biochemical effect by combining with molecular biology technology. But there are few searching system for finding biochemical mechanism which is related to major compounds in oriental medicine. In this research, we aimed developing korean herb database based on text-mining system by analyzing PubMed data. We have developed prototype system for searching chemical, gene and biological relation in oriental medicine. It is characterized by modern oriental medicine research trend with major chemical, gene and protein information. Analysis results can be searched on the prototype system with visualization of the biological interactions.

Cancer is one of the most serious health problem in modern society, and there are many studies to treat this disease. We have performed the study about analyzing papers related with anti-cancerous herbs that is used in clinical treatment recently. We found 257 papers in 'Pub med', the internet site, using the key words 'cancer' and the scientific name of anti-cancerous herbs. We also have compared the herbs' efficacy in oriental medicine with the experimental results in those papers, and thought the practical uses in clinical treatments. However, research studies that reported data on anti-cancerous herbs were wholly lacking. It is recommended that further studies be performed from the point of view of oriental medicine.

Objectives: Heart failure is a chronic disease with increasing prevalence rates despite advancements in medical technology. Korean medicine utilizes herbal prescriptions to treat heart failure, but little is known about the specific herbal medicines comprising the network of herbal prescriptions for heart failure. This study proposes a novel methodology that can efficiently develop prescriptions and facilitate experimental research on heart failure by utilizing existing databases. Methods: Herbal medicine prescriptions for heart failure were identified through a PubMed search and compiled into a Google Sheet database. NetMiner 4 was used for network analysis, and the individual networks were classified according to the herbal medicine classification system to identify trends. K-HERB NETWORK was utilized to derive related prescriptions. Results: Network analysis of heart failure prescriptions and herbal medicines using NetMiner 4 produced 16 individual networks. Uhwangcheongsim-won (牛黃淸心元), Gamiondam-tang (加味溫膽湯), Bangpungtongseong-san (防風通聖散), and Bunsimgi-eum (分心氣飮) were identified as prescriptions with high similarity in the entire network. A total of 16 individual networks utilized K-HERB NETWORK to present prescriptions that were most similar to existing prescriptions. The results provide 1) an indication of existing prescriptions with potential for use to treat heart failure and 2) a basis for developing new prescriptions for heart failure treatment. Conclusion: The proposed methodology presents an efficient approach to developing new heart failure prescriptions and facilitating experimental research. This study highlights the potential of network pharmacology methodology and its possible applications in other diseases. Further studies on network pharmacology methodology are recommended.

Atopic dermatitis is frequently encountered in the Dermatology clinic and the treatments are very various but the effects are not good enough. Especially in case of infants, taking herb med or acupuncture treatments are difficult so we would like to treat the atopic dermatitis using external therapy. We chose the oriental medicine textbooks and the oriental medicine journals that external therapy was used and divided into Yugobub(油膏法), Buchubbub(敷貼法), Sechukbub(洗滌法). The results were as follows: 1. In the frequency of medicine was Coptidis Rhizoma(黃連), Phellodendri Cortex(黃栢), Sophorae Radix(苦蔘), Cnidii Fructus(蛇床子), Allumen(枯礬) etc. 2. The effects of medicine were Chungyul(淸熱), Haedok(解毒), Zosub(燥濕), salchung(殺蟲), Gupung(祛風), Jiyang(止痒) etc.

Objective : To construct a comprehensive understanding of thepharmaceutical efficacies of ginseng, then build a basis for a research strategy for development of Korean ginseng as a globally-competitive medical product. Methods : Surveying literature, we found 1690 ginseng-focused papers in Pub-Med. Analysis of was done of number of reports according to date, nation, components of Panax ginseng, research methods, and effects of ginseng. Results : The main countries contributing toginseng research are China, Korea, Japan and America. Recently, ginseng-related studies have been increasing, and individual compounds from ginseng or its products rather than ginseng itself are subjects for study. Anti-cancer associated or neuroprotective effects showed priority in therapeutic efficacy. Panax ginseng was the focus of around 60% of all ginseng-related studies, but only 22% of them were done in Korea. Conclusion :This review will help Korean doctors or scientists to systematically understand ginseng as a powerfulherbal medicine, and to develop Korean ginseng as a globally competitive drug in world markets.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is about oriental medicine's treatment and approach method of conversion disorder(jungkijeung) Methods: We observed the treatment effectiveness of herb-med, acupunture, physical therapy about conversion disorder(jungkijeung) Result and Conclusions: We try to present the possibility of the approach method about conversion disorder. 1. We should treat conversion disorder(jungkijeung) distinguished Gi deficiency(氣虛) between vigorous gi(氣寶) 2. The acupunture treatment of conversion disorder(jungkijeung) is efficient about all sorts symptoms and pain 3. Dyscinesia's sequela due to conversion disorder(jungkijeung) is possible to be protracted 4. It is important to prevent sick role, and for this, to use physical therapy is efficient about dyscinesia's patient due to conversion disorder(jungkijeung)

Diarrhea is defined as increased volume and frequency of stools, increased liquidity and decreased consistency of stools. Enteral nutrition is suited to the patient in a state of normal gastro-intestinal function but insufficient oral nutrition due to neurologic injury. Of many problems raised by enteral nutrition, diarrhea is the most common complication and raises severe clinical problems such as dehydration, disproportion of electrolytes, metabolic acidosis, bed sores, etc. We report two cases of diarrhea due to enteral nutrition treated with Dolichos lablab L. preparation added to herb-med prescription in stroke patients. After this treatment, the frequency of diarrhea decreased and general condition improved.

Insomnia is a temporary or continuous condition in which one has difficulty sleeping, due to physical impediments or physical problems. Because insomnia does harms to a labor power or imposes mental and physical burden on a patient, we should pay attention to this disease. This case is about a patient who was 62 years old man with a chronic insomnia since 1996, inspite of no past history about psychical disease. He had sufferred from a cerebral infarction and hypertension since March. 2002. and was hospitalized in Sangji University korean medicine hospital, 25. June. 2002. This patient had been treated by herb-med, Yanggyuksanhwatang for 4 weeks and showed an improvement. This paper describes the process and contents about the patient was cured.

Paranasal sinusitis has many different kinds of symptoms ; rhinorrea, cough. post nasal drip. headache, etc. In some cases, patients, mostly adults, had no symptom except headache. We treated a 8-year-old child who only complained headache without any other symptoms related in nasal disease. Her symptoms ; headache, nausea, vomiting and general weakness, showed typical type of disease which were due to phlegm. So we diagnosed her headache as a " Headache due to phlegm". Interestingly, her PNS images were diagnosed as bilateral maxillary sinusitis. After one and a half month treatment with herb-med and Aroma oil, the patient got free from all symptoms and her PNS images showed no abnormality.

■ Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the improvement of dilated cardiomyopathy after traditional Korean medical treatment; herb-med, acupuncture, moxibustion. ■ Methods A patient with cardiomyopathy whose chef complaint was oversleep, shortness of breath, fatigue and coldness of hand-foot received inpatient treatment from September 2^nd 2019 to September 23^rd 2019. And we analyzed treatment progress and result. ■ Results We observed that traditional Korean medical treatment decreased symptoms; Fatigue by 30% and Coldness of hand-foot by 100%. And The patient's general condition is improved. ■ Conclusion We report this clinical study to be helpful in treating patients of dilated cardiomyopathy by traditional Korean medicine.
