회전익 항공기의 외부 인양물에 대한 조종사 훈련 활성화 방안 연구 : EASA 및 FAA 사례를 중심으로 (A Research to Reinforce Training Helicopter Pilots on Flight with External Sling Loads : focusing on Cases from EASA and FAA)

  • 본 연구는 민간 회전익항공기 사고의 80% 이상이 조종과실이라는 사실과는 대조적으로, 모든 국내 회전익항공기 조종사들은 군에서 많은 경험을 가지고 민간 분야에서 종사한다는 점에서 어떤 특정한 환경적 요인이 있을 것이라는 명제를 바탕으로 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 우리는 지난 10년간 총 14건의 민간 회전익 항공기 사고가 있었다. 그중 9건 (64%)이 항공기 외부에 인양물을 매달은 채로 사고가 발생했다는 사실과 국내 외부인양물에 대한 구체적인 훈련 규정이 없다는 점을 반영하여, 우선 조종사 외부 인양물 훈련에 대한 국내외 훈련 및 자격 부여 과정을 비교 분석하였다. 그리고 조종사 훈련과 관련된 미국 연방항공청 (FAA) 파트 133 규정인 회전익 항공기(헬리콥터)를 이용한 외부화물 운송관련 법률과 국내 법률을 비교 분석하여 시사점을 도출하여 국내 상황을 적합한 외부인양물에 대한 조종사 훈련과 자격부여에 대한 대안을 제시하고자 하였다.

UH60 헬기 조종사의 피폭진동 측정 및 평가 결과 (Measurements of Whole-body Vibration Exposed from and Their UH60-helicopter Analysis Results)

  • This Paper addresses what amount of whole-body vibration is exposed to Korean pilots of UH60 helicopters during their mission flight. To measure the expose4 whole-body vibration, the 12-axis whole-body vibration measurement system was used. It enables the direct measurement of whole-body vibration exposed from the body contact area consisting of the feet, hip and back. The measured 12-axis vibration signals were used to evaluate the vibration comfort level experienced by the pilots of UH60 helicopters. The evaluated vibration comfort level is found to be closeto 0.74-0.79m/s, which is equivalent to the semantic scale of 'fairly uncomfortable'. To assess the health effects of whole-body vibration exposed to Korean pilots of UH60 helicopters during their mission flight, the rms-based and VDV(vibration dose value)-based evaluation schemes, recommended by ISO 2631-1:1977, were exploited in this work. The evaluated results indicate that Korean pilots cannot avoid the fatigue-decreased proficiency limit after two-hour continuous flight. The whole-body vibration level exposed from the UH60 helicopters during continuous 10-hours mission flight is found to reach to the vibration exposure limit.

비행시간과 연령이 헬리콥터 조종사의 상황인식 평가에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study for Flight Times and Ages affects on Situation Awareness Evaluation of Helicopter Pilots)

  • According to U.S. NTSB, from 1989 to 1992, Situation Awareness(SA) was a major factor causing 80% of all aircraft accidents in scheduled airlines. Therefore, the prevention of accidents through effective training in SA became a pivot in aviation safety. Furthermore, during the past 10 years, since all helicopter accidents in Korea were caused by the factors related to SA, an appropriate countermeasure has been required. This study, which uses survey data, examines various factors related to SA that could affect helicopter pilots. Common characteristics of situation awareness factors are that the result from the independent variables which are flight time, duty period and age of a first officer is statistically significant with the result from the independent variables of an instructor pilot's. However, only experience is statistically significant independent variable for factors influencing decision making in emergency situations, but anxiety, expectation and comprehension are not significant.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a brief overview of the helicopter pilot training system applied to the Army, and to examine what factors positively affect the successful flight training of helicopter pilots. For this purpose, we analyzed the correlations between various factors such as individual characteristics, selection factors, flight aptitude evaluation, theoretical subjects test, and self-life evaluation. As a result, it was found that only the flight experience was influential on the individual characteristics at the beginning of the training course, and the learning achievement represented by the test of theoretical subjects was positively influenced throughout the flight training course. This reaffirms the fact that an individual's high level of motivation or effort influences his flight training performance. These results are expected to be useful indicators for future development of pilot selection system and pilot training system.

응급의료 전용헬기의 운용 안전성 확보 방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on Improve Operational Safety of HEMS)

  • Korea's HEMS are mainly operated during the week, but they are pushing for 24-hour operations. This study has made an overall comparison and review of helicopter safety management that should be accompanied to this end. For research purposes, helicopter regulations and helicopter accident statistics were analyzed, with a high accident rate associated with pilot error and night flight. It was proposed that future preparations would require reinforcement of laws and regulations, reinforcement of pilots' night training, and introduction of training and preflight risk assessments. This study will provide a direction for future helicopter safety. This study will provide for future direction of helicopter safety research.

  • The topic of this paper was analyzed as "t -test" and "multiple regression analysis" for 303 helicopter pilot trainees from aviation schools in the county for "improvement of education through correlation analysis of helicopter pilots' situational awareness and education satisfaction." In addition to the factors for overcoming situational awareness and situational awareness, the level of satisfaction of the instructor and the level of satisfaction of the learning management system (LMS) is the confidence interval p<.05, 95%. It was analyzed to be significant at the level of 05, 95%. Therefore, it was analyzed that in order to improve the "quality of the instructor" in future education, institutional supplementation and "learning management system (LMS)" need to be established including VR and AR so that pilot trainees can use it at all times.

요인분석을 이용한 헬리콥터조종교육 영향요인 연구 (A Study on Factors Influencing Helicopter Pilot Training Using Factor Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 헬리콥터 조종사 교육에 있어서 성공적인 비행훈련 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 탐색적 요인분석을 이용하여 개인의 인지적 특성과 비인지적 특성을 추출하고, 계층적 회귀분석을 통해 이러한 특성(요인)들이 비행훈련 성과에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 그 결과 공간지각능력, 회복탄력성, 숙달목표지향적 학습태도 성향이 높을수록 비행 교육성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 조종사에게 특히 요구되는 공간지각능력의 중요성을 재확인할 수 있었고, 그리고 제한된 조종석 공간에서의 비행교관의 역할, 개인의 올바른 동기부여와 노력이 비행훈련 성과에 영향을 미친다는 것을 재확인시켜준다. 이러한 결과는 향후 헬기 조종사의 효과적인 비행교육에 유용한 지표가 될 것으로 기대한다.

직무분석을 통한 회전익 항공기 조종사 적성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Aptitude for Helicopter Pilots through the Job Analysis)

  • The operational environment of helicopters extends from the civil air traffic control system to remote and hazardous areas and from day operations under visual flight conditions to night operations in adverse weather. Helicopters can move in any direction, remain stationary while airborne, climb and descend vertically, and take off and land almost anywhere. Thus their range of maneuvers and control requirements vary more widely than do those of fixed-wing aircraft. In this study, I analyzed the job of helicopter pilot through methods of observation, and classified the required ability of them into the domain of cognitive, perceptual/spatial, psychomotor. I expect that the result of this study will be used to aid training and selection of helicopter pilot.

헬리콥터 조종사의 상황인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Situation Awareness of Helicopter Pilot)

Recognition of and countermeasures for the factors in emergency situations were analyzed. The results show that, while the factors associated with SA and vigilance have lower correlations with each other, the factors associated with recognition, diagnosis, and generation and implementation of solutions have higher correlations with each other. Thus, the results demonstrate the need for better SA through educational training.
