헬리콥터 비행교육 과정에서 비행훈련과 모의비행훈련의 상관관계 분석 (Analysis between Flight Training and Flight Simulator Trainingin Helicopter Flight Training Course)

  • As the demand for simulated flight training and interest in new technology training increase, this study analyzed the performance of flight simulator training and actual flight training subjects to confirm efficient flight simulator training curriculum. Summarizing the results of the study, found that flight simulator training had a significant positive effect on the actual flight training performance and in particular had a relatively large effect on the air maneuver, traffic pattern, cross country flight subjects. As a result of analyzing theoretical major classes that affect flight simulator training to verify the correlation, found that principle of air navigation, air traffic service, and helicopter flight theory were affected in order. The significance of this study was to identify the curriculum and ground lesson that should be focused on effectively performing flight simulator training in the helicopter private pilot course.

  • Surprise and Startle are often cited as potential or contributing factors in the cause of aircraft accidents because they can negatively affect pilots' situational awareness and decision-making. Accordingly, it is necessary to more clearly understand the effect on flight safety through the psychological and physiological reactions that occur to the pilots. Therefore, this study empirically analyzed the effects of Surprise and Startle on the pilot's psychological and physiological responses using a helicopter flight training device for the first time in Korea. As a result of the analysis, the ratio of recognition of Startle and Surprise, heart rate, and respiration rate showed a high difference between private pilots and commercial pilots. This is analyzed as the difference between long-term flight experience and flight time. In addition to presenting effective information for improving the education and training field of helicopter pilots in the future, it is intended to provide basic data for related research.

  • Unmanned Helicopter has several abilities such as vertical Take off, hovering, low speed flight at low altitude. Such vehicles are becoming popular in actual applications such as search and rescue, aerial reconnaissance and surveillance. These vehicles also used under risky environments without threatening the life of a pilot. Since a small aerial vehicle is very sensitive to environmental conditions, it is generally known that the flight control is very difficult problems. In this paper, a flight control system was designed for an unmanned helicopter. This paper was concentrated on describing the mechanical design, electronic equipments and their interconnections for acquiring autonomous flight. The design methodologies and performance of the helicopter were illustrated and verified with a linearized equation of motion. The LQG based estimator and controller was designed and tested for this unmanned helicopter.

비행시간과 연령이 헬리콥터 조종사의 상황인식 평가에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study for Flight Times and Ages affects on Situation Awareness Evaluation of Helicopter Pilots)

  • According to U.S. NTSB, from 1989 to 1992, Situation Awareness(SA) was a major factor causing 80% of all aircraft accidents in scheduled airlines. Therefore, the prevention of accidents through effective training in SA became a pivot in aviation safety. Furthermore, during the past 10 years, since all helicopter accidents in Korea were caused by the factors related to SA, an appropriate countermeasure has been required. This study, which uses survey data, examines various factors related to SA that could affect helicopter pilots. Common characteristics of situation awareness factors are that the result from the independent variables which are flight time, duty period and age of a first officer is statistically significant with the result from the independent variables of an instructor pilot's. However, only experience is statistically significant independent variable for factors influencing decision making in emergency situations, but anxiety, expectation and comprehension are not significant.

  • An empirical analysis was conducted on the workload of helicopter pilots flying in high-risk flight environments such as ground obstacles and weather effects at low altitudes. To evaluate the workload, an independent sample t-test was performed using the NASA-TLX evaluation method most suitable for the aviation field, and the workload score was calculated by applying the analytical stratification method (AHP) to compare and analyze private and commercial pilots. There is a significant difference in mean between private and commercial pilots and the result of work load was obtained over 70%. This paper studied the 'surprise and startle effect' on the helicopter field for the first time. In the future, it is intended to contribute to the safe operation of helicopters by presenting a method for effective safety management by utilizing it in the field of education and training for helicopter pilots and providing basic data for preventing accidents caused by human error.

  • Visual information and aural warning of independent aircraft survivability equipment increase the pilot workload and limit the effective countermeasures. For increase the aircraft survivability, Integrated design of survivability display and aural warning need to consider pilot intuitions. If pilot aware the threat by intuition, evade or escape from the threat using the countermeasures equipment, it will increase the survivability. This paper describe the design and verification of for Utility Helicopter survivability equipment.

  • 민간항공사고의 대부분은 인적요인에 의해 발생하고 특히 회전익 항공기는 예상하지 못하거나 의도하지 않게 악기상으로 진입하는 IIMC (instrument meteorological conditions) 상황에서의 사고가 많이 발생하고 있다. 이 연구는 저시정 조건에서 회전익 항공기 조종사의 에러율를 다각적으로 분석하여 비행특성에 관한 통찰력을 얻고 IIMC 상황에서의 사고를 줄이기 위한 방안을 연구하였다. 저시정 조건에서 조종사의 에러 발생율을 모션이 장착된 비행 시뮬레이터를 활용하였으며 65명의 조종사가 실험에 참여하였다. 실험을 통해 획득한 비행 데이터로 비행시정 감소, 공간정위상실 유무, 조종사 자격 등 다양한 조건에 따라 에러 발생율을 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 다양한 조건에서 비행특성에 대한 특이점을 발견할 수 있었고 조종사의 자격 등급, 계기비행 (IFR; instrument flight rules) 자격 유무, 비행단계별 에러 발생율에 유의미한 차이가 발생하였다. 이와 같은 연구의 결과는 조종사의 교육 및 훈련프로그램을 개선하고 IIMC 상황에서 항공기 사고예방에 중요한 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다.

헬리콥터 동체의 진동 예측 (Vibration Prediction of Helicopter Airframe)

  • This paper describes a helicopter vibration induced by main rotor in forward flight. The hub loads in the fixed frame, which are dominant source of helicopter vibration, are obtained by multi-blade summation of rotating blades loadings. The components of 3/rev, 4/rev, and 5/rev blades loadings are transmitted by blades to 4/rev hub loads in the fixed frame. The vertical vibrations of helicopter at pilot seat and copilot seat are calculated through rigid body transfer functions considering airframe to be rigid body. The blades are assumed to be elastic and undergo the flap, lag, and torsion motion and free wake aerodynamic model is used to calculate the precise blade loadings in the analysis. The 4/rev vertical vibration responses are analyzed from rotating blade loadings and fixed hub loadings.

  • 급격한 도시화는 전 세계적으로 도시화가 빠르게 진행되면서 교통 혼잡 및 환경오염, 소음 공해 등의 도시문제가 대두하고 있으며, 이러한 도시 집중화 현상으로 시간 낭비와 이로 인한 경제적 손실이 발생하고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위한 도심 항공 모빌리티(UAM; Urban Air Mobility)는 3차원 미래형 도시 교통수단으로, 도로·철도·개인교통수단과 연계한(Seamless) 교통서비스(MaaS; Mobility as a Service)로 스마트시티의 중요한 교통축으로 자리 잡을 전망이다. 그러나 2023년 7월 현재, UAM 운용을 위한 공역체계, 버티포트 설계, 항법, 통신 등과 관련된 연구는 활발히 이루어지고 있으나, 조종사 교육·훈련에 대한 개념 정립, 교육·훈련 프로그램에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지고 있지 않은 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 미국과 유럽의 수직이·착륙(VTOL) 조종사 교육·훈련 프로그램을 SWOT 분석 방법을 통해, 국내 조종사 양성체계에 적합한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

요인분석을 이용한 헬리콥터조종교육 영향요인 연구 (A Study on Factors Influencing Helicopter Pilot Training Using Factor Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 헬리콥터 조종사 교육에 있어서 성공적인 비행훈련 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 탐색적 요인분석을 이용하여 개인의 인지적 특성과 비인지적 특성을 추출하고, 계층적 회귀분석을 통해 이러한 특성(요인)들이 비행훈련 성과에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 그 결과 공간지각능력, 회복탄력성, 숙달목표지향적 학습태도 성향이 높을수록 비행 교육성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 조종사에게 특히 요구되는 공간지각능력의 중요성을 재확인할 수 있었고, 그리고 제한된 조종석 공간에서의 비행교관의 역할, 개인의 올바른 동기부여와 노력이 비행훈련 성과에 영향을 미친다는 것을 재확인시켜준다. 이러한 결과는 향후 헬기 조종사의 효과적인 비행교육에 유용한 지표가 될 것으로 기대한다.
