A Study on the Application Scheme of Fire Identification Considering the Heat Release Rate Characteristics of Inflammable Material (가연물의 발열량 특성을 고려한 화재감식 적용방안에 관한 연구)

  • The present study suggests the fundamental method for the prediction time of the fire origin by analyzing the combustion phenomenon of inflammable material in the building structure. The heat release rate (HRR) with time variant is evaluated for the interphone as a inflammable material, which is opted from the fire incidents in the stairwell. the fire dynamics simulator (FDS ver. 6.1) is applied in order to analyze the difference of the smoke inflow time to the downstair from the fire event area with various fire pattern. The results show that the maximum inflow time difference for the case of the interphone made from ABS materials is about 4.93 times with the input conditions of heat flux values and the environment in the FDS for the fixed stairwell which composed of total volume $291.3m^3$, floorage $23.3m^2$ and the height of each floor 2.5 m. This research can be practical information for the application method of simulation scheme with experimental data to the fire Identification.

  • <1. New level meter inside the fuel tank> Ultrasound level sensors are widely applied as level meters of liquid tank. Measurement instrument of level between water and fuel is developed. Since the fuel is inflammable, the sensor system doesn't allow to include any electric circuit inside the fuel tank. The optical cable sensor can satisfy this explosive condition. The measurement method with ultrasonic sensor is attached on the tank wall or tank manhole lid. The pressure sensor can't be applied inside the gasoline fuel tank. A Study on Features of Fire and Change of Extinguishing Capacity of Sprinkler Equipment Against Fire at a Traditional Market (재래시장에서의 화재조건에 따른 스프링클러설비의 소화성능변화와 화재특성에 관한 연구)

  • Lots of products stocked at a traditional market are made of rubbers, synthetic fibers and plastics which when on fire, emit high heat to easily ignite nearby inflammables. And shops are not divided by fireproof partitions but by combustible curtains, which contributes to a possibility of a conflagration. In this study, danger and weak factors on fire at a traditional market was analyzed. Non-existence of partition between shops and the height of piled inflammables are set as danger factors and change of extinguishing capacity of sprinklers was analyzed using fire dynamics simulator. As a result, it turned out that partitions between shops and high-piled inflammables reduced watering radius of sprinklers and increased the size of fire and distribution of temperature.
