The three processes of 1) high- & low-temperature microwave heatings, 2) the soil washing, and 3) the thermal desorption processes in soil remediation are analysed on the treatment cost data for 2003-2012 years. The cost of microwave heating method with at temperature 500-700℃, for 30 minutes, and at 4-6 kW is approximately 10 $/ton (13,000 ₩) due to the deep through heating of micro-wave, the soil washing with chemicals is about 80 $/ton (85,000 ₩) due to the chemicals & duration, and the thermal desorption process is around 40 $/ton (41,000 ₩) from the less efficiency. Furthermore the sustainability has been assessed, and suggestions are made. 1) Green; the minimal environmental footprint, 2) Growth; the least cost, 3) Shared; the social & environmental justice, 4) Smart; the microwave characteristics of deep through irradiation & heating, and 5) Mutuality; the flexibility of the technology. More additives including water, the government support, and public relation are suggested realizing the microwave in this condition is not harmful to human beings.
Development of diurnal warming in the open Okhotsk Sea during the daytime and calm conditions was studied using sea surface temperature (SST) fields retrieved from NOAA AVHRR, Terra and Aqua MODIS, Aqua AMSR-E and ADEOS-II AMSR data. Sea surface wind fields were estimated from AMSR-E/AMSR measurements as well as were obtained from QuikSCAT scatterometer. Weak winds and cloudless conditions were observed in the central area of anticyclone, which moved slowly on 28-30 June 2003 east off Sakhalin. The area where the amplitude of the diurnal SST signal ${\Delta}T$ was significant also shifted slowly and had or circular or elongated shape. The ${\Delta}T$ was estimated relative to the SST values in the areas surrounding the centre of anticyclone where wind speed W exceeded 5- 6 m/s. The diurnal variations of SST, day-night differences were computed using NOAA-12 and NOAA-16 AVHRRderived data. Analysis of simultaneous SST and W fields showed that the increase of W from 0 to 5-6 m/s causes the decrease of ${\Delta}T$ to zero. Maximum warming exceeded $8^{\circ}C$ and was observed in the centre of anticyclone where W = 0 m/s. So strong heating was likely due to the increased chlorophyll a concentration in the area under study that follows from analysis of satellite ocean colour data.
Chemical batch tests were conducted to investigate the amount of nutrients that were released from the wasted activated sludge during microwave heating. For this study, three types of activated sludge were obtained from $A_2/O$, MLE and oxidation ditch (OD) processes. Polyphosphate-accumulating organisms in the activated sludge have a unique trait: they releases phosphate from the cell when they are exposed to high temperatures. The sludge obtained from the $A_2/O$ process released the largest amount of phosphate, followed by those from the MLE and OD processes. The release of phosphate increased with increasing polyphosphate content in the sludge under strongly alkaline or acidic conditions. Furthermore, ammonia and heavy metals were released with phosphorous. The largest amount of ammonia was observed from the sludge obtained from the MLE process. The release of heavy metals strongly depends on the pH conditions. Therefore, the chemical analysis results strongly suggest that both phosphorus and ammonia react with $Mg^{2+}$ or $Ca^{2+}$ to form metal complexes such as magnesium ammonium phosphate or hydroxyapatite under alkaline conditions.

This paper deals with finite element analyses of residual stresses causing popping up which are induced in micromachining processes of a mcroaccelerometers. After heating the tunnel gap up to 100 degree and get it through the cooling process and the additional bean up to 80 degree and get is through the cooling process. We learn the thermal internal stress of each shape and compare the results with each other after heating the tunnel gap up to 400 degree during the Pt deposition process. We want to seek after the real cause of this pop up phenomenon and diminish this by change manufacturing processes of microaccelerometer by electrostatic force.
This paper describes fluxless soldering of reflow soldering process using solder foil instead of solder pastes. There is an increasing demand for the reliable solder connection in the recent high density microelectronic components technologies. And also, it is problem fracture of an Ozone layer due to freon as which is used to removal of remained flux on the substrate. This paper discussed joining phenomena, boudability and joining processes of microelectronics devices, such as between outer lead of VLSI package and copper pad on a substrate without flux. The shear strength of joints is 8 to 13 N using Sn/Pb (63/37 wt.%) solder foil with optimum joining conditions, meanwhile, in case of using Sn/In (52/48 wt.%) solder foil, it is possible to bond with low heating temperature of 550 K, and accomplish to high bonding strength of 25N in condition heating temperature of 650K. Finally, this paper experimentally shows fluxless soldering using solder foil, and accomplishes key technology of microsoldering processes.
This paper deals with finite element analyses of residual stresses causing popping up which are induced in micromachining processes of a microaccelerometer sensors. The paddle of the micro accelerometer sensor is designed symmetric with respect to the direction of the beam. After heating the tunnel gap up to 100 degree and get it through the cooling process and the additional beam up to 80 degree and get it through the cooling process. We learn the thermal internal stresses of each shape and compare the results with each other, after heating the tunnel gap up to 400 degree during the Pt deposition process. Finally we find the optimal shape which is able to minimize the internal stresses of microaccelerometer sensor. We want to seek after the real cause of this pop up phenomenon and diminish this by change manufacturing processes of microaccelerometer sensor by electrostatic force.
Recently batch type cold rolling processes have been replaced by continuous annealing type processes for cold rolled sheets of mild steel and high strength steel in order to obtain higher productivity, labor saving. In the continuous annealing line, it is very important to maintain the target steel strip temperature at the exit side of each furnace. The automation system of continuous annealing line is based on a hierachical composition. This paper shows how to preset the set value of furnace temperature control for the heating section in a continuous annealing line. Saying in other words, this paper presents the development of an adaptive control approach to control the exit strip temperature in the continuous annealing line. There are three parts in this approach; one is a process modelling and another is recursive parameter estimation and the other is a design of temperature controller.
Whole, peeled sweetpotatoes were subjected to four different processes: 15 min microwave heating followed by 15 min baking (1), 90 min baking (2), 15 min microwave heating (3), and 15 min boiling followed by 15 min microwave heating (4). Samples of green and cured roots were used in the study. Scanning electron photomicrographs revealed that cured roots contained larger numbers of starch granules in the parenchyma cells than green roots, most of them compounded. The starch in cooked green roots was gelatinized while for cured roots it was mostly hydrolyzed into dextrins and sugars. Starch in process (3) roots was mostly gelatinized while in process (1) and process (2) roots gelatinized starch appeared in little quantity, thus it was primarily converted to dextrins and sugars. The process (4) resulted in little conversion of starch. The process (1) product resulted in a similar product to the process (2) product.

Effects of temperature coefficients fur dielectric constants on transient reflectances and thermal responses have been investigated for a metal(gold) thin-film during ultrashort pulse laser heating. Heating processes are simulated using the conventional conduction model(parabolic one-step, POS), the parabolic tow-step model(PTS), the hyperbolic two-step model(HTS). Results fro the HTS model are very similar to those from the PTS model, since the laser heating time in this study is considerably greater than the electron relaxation time. PTS and HTS models, however, result in completely different temperature profiles from those obtained by the POS model due to slow electron-lattice interactions compared to laser pulse duration. Transient reflectances are directly estimated from the linear relationship between electron temperature and complex dielectric constants, while conventional approaches assume that the change in reflectances is proportional to that in temperatuer. Reflectances at the front surface vary considerably for various dielectric constants, while those at the rear surface remain unchanged relatively.
Glass fiber drawing from a silica preform is one of the most important processes in optical fiber manufacturing. High purify silica preform of cylindrical shape is fed into the graphite furnace, and then a very thin glass fiber of 125 micron diameter is drawn from the softened and heated preform. A computational analysis is performed to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of preform heating and the glass fiber drawing in the furnace. In addition to the dominant radiative heating of preform by the heating element in the furnace, present analysis also includes the convective heat transport by the gas flowing around the preform that experiences neck-dawn profile and the freshly drawn glass fiber at high fiber drawing speed. The computational results present the effects of gas flow on the temperature of preform and glass fiber as well as the neck-down profile of preform.
